- Ute R.september 2025PozitivnoLocation, comfort, cleanliness, services, friendlinessNegativnomy favorite beer was not always there ;-)Sensational campsite!We (2 people with motorhome) had originally booked 10 nights and ended up extending to 18 because the campsite was so great - location, surroundings and weather too of course. Even swimming in the lake was still possible in mid-September! We've never been in one place for so long with our motorhome......
The campsite is very, very comfortable; the services on the pitches alone (rated here as "rooms") are second to none.
The pitches are terraced for the best possible view and most of them are very spacious and well maintained.
The sanitary facilities are modern, numerous and always spotlessly clean; there are also hairdryers, washing machines, dryers and more.
The supermarket didn't always have everything in stock, but it's great to have such a shopping opportunity right on site. It was also low season.
The restaurant is excellent with delicious specialties, phenomenal pizza and extremely friendly staff - just like everywhere else at the Berghof.
The boat across the lake docks directly at the campsite several times a day; there is a bus stop in front of the entrance. The lake circular route for cyclists also runs right past the campsite. There are hiking paths and trails nearby and of course also on the Gerlitzen Alpe "opposite".
There would be a lot more to mention...
The price/performance ratio was absolutely fine for us; there were no surprising additional costs.

It is true that some pitches can become muddy in rainy weather. We can't use gravel everywhere as many pitches have a grassy surface. This makes mowing work more difficult and damage could be caused by stones flying around. We therefore take particular care to level the... pitches again after rainfall and keep them clean as soon as they have dried out.
We understand your comment regarding sanitary building 6. However, there are other, more modern sanitary facilities next to this building, which are also located nearby and are available to our guests.
We are happy to take your feedback on board - it helps us to constantly improve the campsite and make it more comfortable and up-to-date for our guests.

The bookings were always straightforward and the staff, both at reception and elsewhere, were always very friendly and customer-oriented. Questions were answered adequately. If there were any problems, these... were resolved immediately.
The sanitary facilities were clean and tidy at all times. The adjoining restaurant "Berghof" is also suitable if you don't want to cook yourself. What is not acceptable is the treatment of guests with dogs.
The pitches in the dog area are all worse than on the rest of the campsite. The only access to the lake for dogs on the whole site is an absolute imposition - steep and slippery.... Not manageable for older or even slightly disabled people.
The lakeshore here is completely silted up (50 cm deep layer of mud). Therefore, no dog can enter the water from the shore without coming back completely dirty. So no lake access for the dog at all on the whole campsite
Even with 6 sanitary buildings, there is not a single dog shower. And when we asked at reception, we were told: "The boss doesn't want a dog shower. Let people with dogs go somewhere else."
And we are happy to do so and leave the fee of EUR 6 per dog/day for nothing in return next time at a dog-friendly campsite.
We can recommend the campsite at Grundlsee, for example. We are pleased that you appreciate the location by the lake and our campsite as a whole. At the same time, we take your comments about dogs very seriously.
We are a family campsite that specializes in a relaxed experience for families with children. Therefore,... dogs are unfortunately not allowed in the high season, when there are many children and guests on site, for reasons of safety and peace and quiet.
However, in order not to exclude dog owners, we offer access for dogs in the low season.
Guests with dogs can not only use the pitches near the water access for dogs, but can also stand on all other pitches - including the "nicer" pitches. We would like to emphasize that although we do not specialize in dogs, we consciously include this group and also offer corresponding services, even if they are naturally not as extensive as on pitches that are specially designed for dogs.
