The nice thing is that the place hardly changes. I was here every year as a child and now with my own children too.
Of course, everything has become more modern and new facilities have been added. But at its core, the charm of the campsite... remains the same.
Other campsites have plastered everything over with mobile homes, but here the classic pitches and the beautiful terraces for the tents remain.
People greet each other, help each other, sit together.
It's always clean here, sanitary facilities and space.
With the Kärntencard you can experience a lot in the surrounding area. The boat station right next to the campsite is also worth its weight in gold.
We spent a summer at another top campsite in Carinthia and missed many things about the Berghof: the direct access to the lake, the varied terrain, the possibility of reaching great attractions directly from the campsite without a car...
The lake is great for SUP.
As someone who is allergic to horses, I have to hold my breath on the way to the wash house after the pony rides until the next thunderstorm, but that's just my personal problem, the children at the campsite enjoy it every week.
Some campers are annoyed by the motorboat that pulls the banana or tires in front of the beach non-stop in good weather. But the noise is easy to block out.
Something more could be done for young people. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly how, but most of them spend the whole day sitting in the awning on their cell phones. Although huge space, pleasant atmosphere and no feeling of being in a crowded place. Attractive program, especially for children.НегативиWe had a pitch on the edge of the road, but this was explicitly pointed out to us before we booked. The pitch was therefore actually quite noisy around 7pm in the evening due to the passing traffic. Not a problem at night. Due to the size, long distances to the entrance, reception and supermarket.Recommendation for vacation with childrenWe had a great time here.
We particularly liked the short distance to the clean and well thought-out sanitary facilities and the short distance to the beautiful beach access suitable for small children.
A great adventure playground and even children's toilets and showers made a great impression.
Unfortunately, we had to leave earlier than planned for health reasons.
Despite the size, we felt very much at home.

The campsite has numerous, very new wash houses. Some with children's bathrooms (i.e. children's showers and toilets) or family bathrooms or private sanitary facilities. They are really looked after and kept clean all day long, which was really great.
There is... a lot on offer, whether for children/teens or adults. There are playgrounds everywhere to let off steam and a water trampoline in the lake.
The staff deserve a special mention, they are so friendly and always in a good mood.
We can also highly recommend the restaurant on the campsite. It was super quick, the food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and in a good mood.
Advantages and disadvantages of the campsite: The fact that it is laid out in terraces. This means that everything is a bit more spread out and there is a view of the lake from really many places. But you have to be good on foot if you always have to walk up or down somewhere. But you know that beforehand and next time we'd rather take our bikes or a scooter 😅
A higher power supply on the comfort pitches would be desirable. Unfortunately, the fuse flies out quite quickly.
