Despite the fact that we were there in the main tourist season, it was quiet in the evenings. Lots of activities for kids. Great lake beach. - Horst M.Avgust 2025Very nice campsite, in the middle of nature.We arrived with our caravan and dog and opted for an unparceled pitch. Although the campsite was very busy, we quickly found a chilly spot under the tall fir trees. What was immediately noticeable was that although many guests had a dog with them, there was no dog waste lying around anywhere. Everything... was very clean and well-kept. There was a bistro and a mini store right on the pitch. There was a good/tasty selection of food and drinks, as well as bread rolls for breakfast and a small selection of things for everyday camping life. The beach was also clean and the water was of good quality.
Every Wednesday, from 18:00 - 22:00, there was a summer party on the beach

The staff are always super friendly and the whole site is run in a professional and guest-friendly manner. Everything is very clean, the catering is very good, there is a lot of information material for activities and... there is also a lot on offer on the site itself. We also like the fact that you can choose your own pitch and that you can leave your car on the pitch. There is a lot of greenery and trees, so you can also find shady spots.
Waren is very easy and quick to reach by bike, public transport and car and is always worth a visit with its great yacht harbor, market, small alleyways and stores. Cyclists are very much appreciated, there are well-developed cycle paths and bike rental shops everywhere. Many gastronomic facilities leave nothing to be desired.
We would like to see an extra yellow garbage can for waste separation on the campsite, just as there is for the hospitality industry. And perhaps a small bench could be placed in the shower/sanitary area? That would be a relief for older people and people with restricted mobility. But these are small things. There was from 11am to 12.30pm and the ladies and gentlemen were already there from 8am! That really bothered us! And another point, there were a few sanitary blocks too few for so many visitors! In particular, there were too few showers. The idea that the shower area can only be entered with clean bathing shoes is basically a good one. However,... it is impractical if the washbasins are also there. Bringing slippers just to brush your teeth doesn't work. This was also clear to see because most guests entered the area with their normal shoes. On Sunday, we had the impression that they only served bread rolls from the previous day. The areas you stand on could be straightened out. It's quite hilly now, so many people have to dig ditches when it rains so that the water doesn't get into the awning....
There are not enough showers in the wash houses and two lockable washing facilities are also very few. You often have to wait.
In the new wash house, the showers spray very strongly, so that you either can't get the shampoo out of long hair or your hair is also directly wet when showering without planned hair washing. The 6-minute regulation is also unsatisfactory. The next person cannot shower directly after a short shower of 3 minutes, but has to wait for the remaining 3 minutes and another few minutes.
If you shower together with your child, 6 minutes is short. If they are not enough, you have to stand in the shower with shampoo and wait until the counter starts again.
The great location and access to the lake always outweigh the other things, so we try to overlook them. However, when you visit other campsites, you notice that the sanitary facilities in Ecktannen are clean but not really nice or sufficient in terms of quantity.
You'd rather swim clean in the lake than wait in front of the rinsing showers 😉
But we'll definitely be back again.
