We're going to do this more often from now on.When you come from the large, nearby city whose name starts with K and, after just about an hour’s drive, arrive in a completely different and so relaxing world filled with friendly, cheerful people, your relaxation begins the very first minute of your stay.
The site is beautifully situated on the... Rur River, and the view of the castle is one-of-a-kind.
We’ll definitely be back—and not just for the next Oktoberfest at Stüffgen. Usually, getting to know long-term campers can be a bit awkward, but here at the festival, we felt warmly welcomed.

Everything is very clean, the staff is very friendly, and you can shop right at the campground—there’s always something new to discover.MinusuriI may have chosen the wrong time of year, because my little cottage was mostly in the shade. But that was my mistake. The kitchen in the cottage was a bit sparsely equipped.Fall Vacation in the EifelThis is my fifth time visiting Hetzingen, and I’m thrilled every single time. It’s almost like coming home when you drive into that narrow curve for the first time and then head down to registration. And you hardly even notice the train rumbling through the grounds anymore.
The campground’s location... is ideal for long hikes in the Rureifel. It’s very centrally located for trips to the Kermeter, Monschau, and many other destinations in the area. The view of Niedeggen Castle is magnificent, and it’s tempting to climb the truly steep mountain yourself. The campground itself is very neat and well-maintained, and the same goes for the rental units. Everything is spotless. Since I always stay in rental units, I can’t say much about the restroom facilities. During my visit, at least the restrooms were very clean, modern, and even wheelchair-accessible (with automatic door openers). The location right on the Rur River is romantic, and it’s a pleasant walk along the path even without a dog. Hetzingen is also a great place to stay with a dog. There are plenty of trash cans for dog waste, some of the dog houses are even escape-proof, and there’s always a steady supply of poop bags.
All in all, I always enjoy coming back to Hetzingen, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what’s in store for me next year.Tradus automat.Niciun turist nu a considerat utilă această evaluare.
