Review Guidelines on camping.info

No secret: Reviews are often the most important factor for campers when choosing a campsite. At the same time, we know that older reviews or photos do not always reflect the current state of a campsite.

We care deeply about presenting your campsite the way your guests experience it today. Therefore, upon request, we review reviews and guest photos that no longer reflect the current situation. In certain cases, these may be deactivated by us.

Guidelines for the Review of Reviews and Guest Photos

Change of Operator

In the event of a change of operator, all reviews submitted before the takeover can be removed upon request. This always applies to both positive and negative reviews.

Extensive modernization or redesign

If areas of your campsite have fundamentally changed in the meantime, we will be happy to review whether older reviews still reflect the current situation.

Reviews older than three years

Camper reviews that are more than three years old can always be deactivated. However, this applies to all reviews – both positive and negative.

Unfair or potentially inaccurate reviews

Reviews must be based on personal experiences and come from actual guests. Insults, personal data, false statements of fact, or similar content are not permitted.

Outdated guest photos

Photos uploaded by guests can be reviewed by us if they no longer reflect the current condition of your campsite or otherwise violate our guidelines.

How It Works: Submitting a Review Request

Sarah will be happy to help you!

If you believe that a review or photo violates our review guidelines or no longer reflects the current condition of your campsite, please send us:

  • a) a screenshot of the relevant review or photo and
  • b) a brief explanation of why, in your opinion, its deactivation would be justified.

Please send your request to Sarah from our support team: [email protected]

We are committed to presenting campsites in an up-to-date, fair, and accurate manner. At the same time, we want to provide campers with authentic and trustworthy information.

Therefore, we do not deactivate reviews or photos as a matter of course, but assess each request individually according to our guidelines. We ask for your understanding and reserve the right not to deactivate reviews if critical content constitutes only a minor part of the overall review.

5 Tips for Managing Your Reviews

1) Use the Reply Function

We recommend actively using the reply function in the operator login, regardless of whether a review is positive or negative. This shows your guests that their feedback matters to you and gives potential campers additional insights into your campsite. Click here to log in and respond to reviews (see the "Reviews" menu on the left): https://owner.camping.info/en/login

Especially for critical reviews, the reply function gives you the opportunity to present your perspective, clarify misunderstandings, and point out improvements that have already been implemented.

2) Respond Promptly

Try to respond to reviews as quickly as possible. This demonstrates appreciation and professionalism.

3) Remain Objective and Friendly

Even when criticism seems unfair, it is worth responding calmly and respectfully. Your response will be read not only by the reviewer but also by potential guests.

4) Use Feedback as an Opportunity

Recurring comments can provide valuable suggestions for improvement. If issues have been resolved or new measures have been implemented, you can communicate this in your response.

5) Authenticity Builds Trust

A campsite with only and always PERFECT reviews may appear less credible than one that also has occasional critical feedback and responds professionally to it. Transparency builds trust and helps campers make informed decisions.
