On the campsite restaurant where we have eaten several times good food for a reasonable price, after a few days at reception asked for a place on the campsite for our son and daughter-in-law with the grandchildren who were on their way back and also stayed here for a few days, for the grandchildren enough to play from go-karts to scooters and of course enjoy the rippling water in the rudder. Thank you for taking the time to write your review and for giving us your honest feedback. We note that you consider our Hetzingen campsite to be good and perfectly adequate overall and we can remember that this was expressed more enthusiastically in one or two cases.
Regarding the sinks,... we probably didn't explain to you that there is another sink in the basement of the sanitary building. There is also a fully functional dishwasher on the first floor, which can make washing up easier for you. Perhaps you missed this during your visit.
In other reviews, our guests noticed the high safety standard. There are defibrillators and complete first aid kits directly accessible in both sanitary facilities. For other guests, the new wheelchair shower was an outstanding feature - alongside the sauna facilities, which can be hired exclusively. We were also highly praised for our guest app and the barrier-free website.
Overall, we were named the friendliest campsite in Europe for the second time by camping.info based on the guest reviews.
As far as catering options are concerned, we offer the option of pre-ordering bread rolls and purchasing small items for daily needs at the Hetzingen self-service & café. In addition, the Hetzinger Stüffgen restaurant is open almost every day, where you can enjoy a leisurely meal. The Miracoli restaurant is just a ten-minute walk away in the village. For larger purchases, there are several well-known supermarkets and two bakeries in Nideggen, just two kilometers away.
We hope that these tips will help you to enjoy an even more relaxed vacation with us during your next stay. If you have any questions or need assistance, we are always happy to help.

However, it is a river that you are not allowed to touch. You can't pay in the store with a card, only cash. The place is divided by the railroad which is not practical. Staff friendly.

Other guests have praised the clean sanitary facilities, the new Rolli... shower, modern and smart washing/drying systems, dishwashers and lockers with internal power connections in their reviews. Many of our tourist guests are regulars and come back to us again and again because there is always something going on at Hetzingen campsite.
We understand that the division of the campsite by the Rurtalbahn can be surprising for some guests (the railroad line has only been in existence since 1903), and we welcome the fact that you have managed to deal with this. You can also use the Rurtalbahn if you want to return to Brück after a hike in the Rurtal valley. We are also happy to pass on your information about cashless payment in the self-service & café to the independent owner. She will check how she can improve the service here.
We are delighted that you enjoyed our Hetzinger Stüffgen restaurant so much - the team at this independent restaurant attaches great importance to quality and hospitality.
We would be delighted if you perceive your next stay and the campsite in a different way than a mere transit site on the surface. We recommend hiking in the red sandstone mountains, mountain biking in the Eifel National Park or gigantic views of the Rursee in Schmidt. Attractive places such as Nideggen, Heimbach, Zülpich and the town of Monschau, which is famous beyond the borders, are waiting to be discovered by you.

Very nicely located pitch, directly on the Rur, pure cooling, even for our dog.
Toilets and showers always clean and modern and easy to reach.
Unfortunately, shower coins are required for showering, which takes 5 minutes.
If you... want to shower for longer, you have to get out of the shower cubicle in between and throw coins in, which is not nice, especially when you are wet.
Unfortunately, you can't insert 2 coins.
Basically it's okay with coins, but you should run for more than 5 minutes for 80 cents.
From here you can quickly walk or drive to hikes or MTB tours in the national park and then go on wonderful tours and enjoy nature.
Long walks with the dog are also easy.
The Rursee is a short distance away, but is easy to cycle to.
At the weekend, the site is very busy with short-stay campers.

We would like to explain your comment about the shower coins: You can of course insert several coins in a row to extend your shower time. Alternatively, we also offer a one-euro shower, which has a longer duration and is therefore more comfortable. We understand that throwing in coins while showering is not ideal and are constantly working to improve convenience for our guests.
