We understand that the train line through the campsite can sometimes be disruptive. However, we would like to inform you that a renovation of the railroad barrier system is planned for 2027. We are particularly pleased that... you liked the pitch layout and the proximity to the water and that you appreciated the child- and pet-friendly environment. Our team takes great care to provide a clean and welcoming site for our guests and it's great to hear that this resonated with you!
Your comments regarding the shower machine are not new. The electrical voltage applied to these machines is 220 volts and we do not wish to install them in the shower cubicle for safety reasons: Agreed? - We will include the fenced-in dog run area in our plans as soon as we have permission to convert the nature reserve into a dog area. We are always striving to improve our service and are open to suggestions. Waste disposal in the lower section has also been suggested several times by guests, but so far no one has been able to answer the question of where the (smelly) containers should be placed and how we should deal with at least five different waste trucks per week, some of which come to empty them at 7:00 in the morning. What ideas do you have?

But the staff were all the friendlier. There was no central point for the children or teens. We are very helpful and it is a matter of course for us to help you park your caravan. It is important to mention that the vast majority of guests have had positive... experiences with us during their stay and have documented them.
It is a unique feature of our campsite that the Rurtal Railway has been running through here since 1903, and it has to honk to warn us about the level crossing. The existence of the Rurtalbahn probably didn't come to your attention when you were preparing for your vacation. Perhaps you only happened to read the few guest reviews that did not mention the existence of the Rurtalbahn and its warning signal. With regard to your comments on the showers, however, we take your feedback seriously and will discuss with our service team how we can provide you with flawless showers in future, even on the busiest days of the year. We understand that you can expect a freshly cleaned and spotless shower cubicle at all times, even on a Whitsun weekend.
We are known for creating a welcoming environment for all guests, offering real value to our campers, constantly developing the campsite and being the friendliest campsite in Europe (with multiple awards).
We are proud of our team, our performance and the many guests who have already booked us again for 2026 and 2027 over Whitsun. Your rating is therefore a little out of line in direct comparison with other guest feedback, and we therefore sincerely hope that you will have many new positive experiences elsewhere on future camping trips. The sanitary facilities are always clean and up to date. Even the little things are taken care of, such as a magnifying mirror in the ladies' washroom and a lowered washbasin for children. A wonderful place for nature... lovers to relax and unwind. Nideggen Castle is within sight and the direct proximity to the River Rur also gives you that "I want to stay here" feeling.
The campsite operators are very friendly and always have an open ear for questions or requests. They like to be in contact with their campers, which makes the stay a bit familiar.

I particularly liked this one because of the friendly operator, who showed and explained everything. The site is very diverse, close to nature and very well equipped. The sanitary facilities were the best I've ever seen... on a campsite. We went hiking and visited the castle and ate there as well as in the restaurant on the campsite. There were also great events and a barbecue area which we used. I was able to drive my car onto my pitch, pitch my tent next to it and had an electricity connection. We are also pleased that you noticed... our sanitary facilities, the wide range of facilities and the barbecue area. The proximity to nature and the river really make something special. Thank you also for your understanding regarding the train traffic; many of our guests find the noise nostalgic and quickly get used to it.
