Falkensteiner Camping Grubhof Anmeldelser
- SMStefan M.september 2026PositiveCleanliness, space,NegativCustomer Service, ReceptionFeedback: Customer ServiceSince I extended my stay by one more night, I had to move to a different site. In principle, that wasnât a problem for me. However, since several sites were available and the camper who took my spot also stayed only one more night, I politely asked why the change of site was necessary.
Unfortunately,... I was not given a reasonable explanation. I also found the way my inquiry was handled disappointing. I would have appreciated friendlier, customer-oriented communication and a little more understanding of my concern.
Changing campsites in and of itself isnât a problem for me, but a legitimate question about it should be answered respectfully. In this regard, I see significant room for improvement in customer service.

We had initially booked for 4 days and actually... wanted to extend our stay, but given the view, we decided against it.
The Wi-Fi didnât work at all the entire time.
Then came another surprise at checkoutâthe booking confirmation didnât mention that the dog costs âŹ7 per day (as I said, theyâd overlooked the dog, and the price is overpriced), that additional charges apply for electricity usage over 5 kWh per day, a visitorâs tax (which Iâm happy to pay)... despite all that, youâd still like to know the total cost of the package when booking or upon receiving the booking confirmation, so you donât get any surprises.
Be careful with your bookings and donât hesitate to ask questions!Automatisk oversat.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. The refrigerator is too small for 9 people. The stove and cooktop should be updated (it takes a very long time to heat up pots and pans). Also, 8 forks for up to 10 people is a bit too few ;-)Chalet with a minor flawThere were 9 of us, and we stayed at the Scheffsnother Stube
at the Grubhof campground for about a week. The cottage was tidy and had plenty of space. It was the perfect starting point for hikes and adventure trips. Weâll definitely be guests at the Grubhof again in the future.Automatisk oversat.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. - FMFrank M.august 2026PositiveOverall, a very nicely designed campground. There was usually plenty of space between us and our neighbors on the right and left. We liked the lakeside sites in the quiet zone on the far right best. The S1 restroom facility we used was very well designed and equipped. It was wonderful to be able to shower as often and for as long as we wanted in the lovely private bathrooms. Wi-Fi was freeâgreat!NegativI didn't like that you can't reserve a parking spot. Not even a year in advance. The woman at the front desk whom I asked could obviously see in the system that a specific parking spot had been reserved for the same month next year. But she told me that I couldnât reserve that one for myself. That seems illogical to me, but itâs a major drawback for meâfor usâbecause we donât want any surprises for this high price. Thereâs only one spot for manually emptying the toilet cassette near the front desk. It always stank, and there was always water on the floor that you had to wade through. The trash disposal area was disgusting. It was a closed room where the smell made me feel very nauseous. If the room were well-ventilated, it would be okay. Wi-Fi was free, but the connection speed was often very slow or even cut out. What I Liked and Didn't LikeAn expensive but overall very nice campsite with a very nice restroom facility (S1).
If I could reserve a spot for next year in advance, it would be perfect for me!Automatisk oversat.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. VĂŠr den fĂžrste! - WSWagner S.august 2026PositiveThe campsites along the Saalach were a dream. The restroom facilities, too, are state-of-the-artâ not only modern but also very clean. Kudos.NegativThe staff at check-out were in a very bad mood. The layout of the large campsites needs improvement, since there were always peopleâletâs say about 15 of themâ in our spot, and also the kiosk was very small. As for the food, well, it was just too expensive. They had the nerve to complain to us about whether the spot belonged to usâexcuse me, but we paid for it. We paid for the spot and wanted to use it. (How are we supposed not to make a fuss?) đA dream vacation, except for a few minor detailsThe campground operator isn't to blame for the fact that the vacationers are so unfriendly and arrogant.Automatisk oversat.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. Things used to be better at your place, too.
We went there twice, and both times, even though we all ordered different dishes, we had stomach problems.
After that, I got to cook for myself again.

The facilities (especially the restrooms) are highly recommended. Thanks to its central location, we were able to visit and hike to Berchtesgaden, Innsbruck, the Jenner, Königssee, the Wilder Kaiser, several gorges, and other great placesâall within about an hourâs drive. To top it off, the weather even cooperated, as it only rained occasionally at night...Automatisk oversat.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. VĂŠr den fĂžrste!

The facilities are modern and reflect Austrian culture, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. On the way there, you can buy eggs from a local farmer, and there are wonderful hiking opportunities in the surrounding area. The Saalachter Card is useful for all transport... and provides free access to the cable cars. The only downside to the stay is the really poor and constantly cutting out Wi-Fi, and the two ladies at reception, who are as pedantic as tax office clerks and even dictate what name to put on the bill, because they know whatâs right.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. Tim W.august 2026PositiveRestrooms; Site size; Amenities; SurroundingsNegativOnly 5 kWh of electricity per day; anything beyond that is subject to an additional charge.Absolutely greatâwith almost no limitationsWe had a really great stay and were very satisfied overall. The campsites are nice and spacious, and some offer truly fantastic views.
We especially liked the guest card. It gives you access to numerous services and discounts in the areaâfrom free bus rides to swimming pools and mountain railways/gondolas,... all the way to free admission to caves and other attractions. This is a huge plus, especially for a family vacation.
The restroom facilities were also excellent. The individual bathrooms are very spacious and practicalâlike your own little bathroom with a sink, toilet, shower, and plenty of room to get changed. Plus, everything was very clean and well-maintained.
Another highlight is the direct access to the river. When the weather is nice, you can even use it for swimming or cooling offâitâs really lovely.
The reception staff were also friendly and helpful, and we really liked the on-site restaurant as well.
There is one minor criticism, however, regarding electricity: Unfortunately, only 5 kWh are included per day. Any usage above that is charged at âŹ0.90 per kWh. We find this a bit of a shame given the otherwise excellent facilities, and it detracts slightly from the overall impression.
Overall, though, we can absolutely recommend this campground. We had a lovely and relaxing stay and would definitely come back.Automatisk oversat.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. And the staff is so friendly!NegativCheck the drainpipes regularlyâsome of them aren't draining properly. And there was a smell of sewage in some of the washrooms. The cleaning crew should use different cleaning rags whenever possible. A green one for sinks, a blue one for toilets, etc. Not just one for everything!! Thatâs disgusting. Iâve noticed this.Campground ReviewPlease keep the restrooms clean! The staff was always very friendly!Automatisk oversat.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. VĂŠr den fĂžrste!
- NKNoa K.august 2026PositiveMountains River Space Kids activitiesNegativFood options Lack of shops There was no place to purchase waterMrsWe absolutely loved Camping Grubhof! It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Austria.
The location is incredible â surrounded by beautiful mountains, with a river running right next to the campsite. Everything felt peaceful, green and perfectly maintained.
The facilities were exceptionally... clean and comfortable, the pitches were spacious, and the campsite was perfect for families with children. Our kids had plenty of space to play and enjoy themselves, while we could actually relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole campsite had such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
For us, Grubhof was the perfect combination of nature, comfort and family-friendly camping. We would definitely come back! â€ïžđïžđŠđčđźđ±Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. We were assigned a spot in the quiet area. Luckily, we were able to move to a spot in the dog-friendly area :)Our Take on the VacationThe Grubhof Campground is beautifully situated. The countless hiking trails are sure to set any hikerâs heart racing. In the Almenwelt Lofer, you can relax and enjoy the magnificent view of the mountains. The transportation connections are also excellent. You can head out toward Zell am See or Salzburg... every hour, and thanks to the Saalachtal Card, public transportation and the Lofer mountain railways are free. Only our dog needed a paid ticket. Weâd love to come back to the Grubhof!Automatisk oversat.Ingen campere fandt denne bedĂžmmelse hjĂŠlpsom. VĂŠr den fĂžrste!

The reception desk has new staff! Theyâre friendly and accommodating! Mareike and Eileen are a blast! Weâll be back!NegativOur tent neighbors (mostly Dutch) look at us critically because there are so many of us! And we have a big tent with us. But weâre peacefulâ weâre happy when people stop by and sometimes even have a beer with us!Camping with the Fire Department! There were 31 peopleA large campground with different areas!
