katharina s.junho 2025PositiveSaalach, xxl baths, location, peace and quiet, garbage under the mountain (no stench), great playground, excursion possibilitiesNegativThat you are not allowed to put anything on the meadow (pavilion with floor), store opening hours, you cannot reserve a specific parking spaceBeautifully clouded stayI had found the place via Instagram and my expectations were very high.the reception at the reception was polite, detailed but a bit stiff.our pitch was as desired in partial shade and very large.the guidelines on how you can stand with your vehicles irritated us at first because we don't know this at... all.we couldn't find these guidelines on the website either.we stuck to them and then quickly realized that the view into the open air, greenery and mountains was really very pleasant and relaxing.we were positively surprised. We had a pavilion with us with a floor that we couldn't attach to the stones because the ground was too stony/hard. We had to slide a bit into the meadow. I had also indicated this when making the reservation by email and at reception when checking in and it was approved; we also saw tents and pavilions with a floor on other pitches and then didn't give it any more thought. 2 days before our departure, an employee came cycling up and told us quite brusquely that this was not allowed because otherwise the grass would turn yellow and that wouldn't be nice for the next pitch. I explained that I had clarified this twice and that there were others on the lawns here too, but he stood firm and I asked him if we could leave it until the day after tomorrow because we were leaving then, to which he grumpily agreed and cycled away. I was left with a very uncomfortable feeling and would have liked to leave straight away. i also got angry because I was transparent and was still reprimanded. we also had no chance to change anything because the ground was too hard to turn a screw into the ground. I certainly don't want to argue on vacation.
Overall, the place was very nice, the Saalach is fantastic. A dream campsite!NegativNeighbors who have no tolerance for nature camping and prefer to enjoy their food from the hot-air fryer and microwave rather than trout from the grill or fish on a stick.Pleasure camping on the SaalachIncredibly professional, nice and courteous, friendly staff. Very nice contact starting from the booking, on arrival, during the entire stay until departure, is always a unique experience.
The whole complex is very organized, clean and well maintained.
The sanitary facilities are also always spotlessly... clean, pleasantly flooded with light, very well ventilated, spacious and bright bathrooms and completely in order. Respect!
The pitches are nicely sized and sensibly structured.
In winter we use the ski bus from the ski room at the campsite to the Loferer Almwelt valley station, and we also like the wellness area, massages and sauna for après-ski.
We are not very spoiled when it comes to food and get by with the restaurant on site, but we also like real Austrian cuisine in the village. Or from our own fire or barbecue.
We love the upper pitches by the river, the peace and quiet without the usual noise and barking, and relaxing with an aperitif or two to the gentle sound of the Saalach.
Everything is actually great, including the electricity and water columns on the pitches.
Only the planning and design of the gray water drains on the V&E columns are not in the spirit of the inventor. Too bad. 4 out of 5 points. What a pity!
Maybe it will be, at some point.
There's no hurry.

Large showers great play facilities for the kids of all ages. In addition to the beautiful surroundings, which offer many varied leisure activities, it is above all the site itself that inspires us again and again: the direct location on the Saalach, the wonderful old trees... and the generously sized pitches make the Grubhof a very special place to relax and feel good.
The whole team is extremely friendly and always ready to help, the sanitary facilities are modern, clean and leave nothing to be desired.

When we arrived and saw the crowds at the reception, I was worried that this site would be 'mass processing'. But that wasn't the case, the many campers were well spread out on the pitch. Walks from the campsite with the dogs are available in various lengths. There are also many walks directly from the campsite.
