Extensive restroom facilities, and always clean We stayed there with our dog and can't say enough good things about it—there's a trash can or hand sanitizer dispenser in every corner! And yet everything was clean! The staff was friendly and always willing to answer our questions! All in all, absolutely worth the money!

It’s amazing how there are always people who don’t put their dogs on a leash, even though it’s required! We’ve personally been lucky that none of these dogs have found their way over to us, since our dog isn’t very sociable when on a leash! But that’s not the campground operator’s fault!

We were there with our dog and can't say enough good things about it—there's a trash can or a bag dispenser around every corner!
And everything was still clean!
The staff was friendly and always willing to answer any questions!

A Dream Vacation
This campground is simply a dream! The very spacious sites, the very friendly staff, the large restrooms, and the location are simply top-notch. You feel completely at home here, and if you’ve been here often, like we have, it feels a bit like coming home every time—and it’s hard to leave! But one vacation ends, and another begins, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

The front desk is a total disaster. Marijke is the right person for the job, but the two employees at the desk are a disaster. The Greek woman and the one with tattoos are too lazy to work. They blame everything on the system, and according to them, you can’t even book directly anymore. Marijke ended up sorting it out herself. The bill was wrong, and the front desk employee came across as very arrogant. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years, and the decline in service is obvious.
Stay with a Caravan
Back in the day, you’d see the campground manager every day; now nobody knows who’s in charge.
The structure’s gone—get up from your chair and do something about it.

Campground location, restroom facilities, friendly staff, restaurant, Camperclean, great swimming in the Saalach River with fun for the whole family—don't forget your swim rings or air mattresses 😀

The driveway turns right after the entrance and is a bit narrow for larger vehicles; the selection at the mini-shop is very small; there's no way to pre-order bread rolls;
A Wonderful Vacation
Great campground for families and couples alike, centrally located near many attractions and activities. With the guest card and mobility card, you get free bus rides (as far as Salzburg) and free admission to gorges, caves, etc. Free rides on the Lofer Bergbahn with great hiking trails. The location is perfect for cyclists looking for beautiful bike rides.

A Wonderful Vacation at the Grubhof
We had a wonderful time at Grobhoff. The location, the river, the campsite, and the restrooms—everything was perfect. We had a campsite with plenty of grassy space out front, so the kids could play there. The location is perfect—we were able to go on lots of outings either by bus or by bike. Whether it was the gondola, the gorge, hiking, or bike rides.

The water flow is lower. - The total electricity cost is no longer included. - You can’t try out the gym for just one day to see if the equipment fits your workout routine; you have to pay €2 per day upfront for the entire period. Over a 14-day period, that costs more than a monthly gym membership in Belgium. - The quality of the restaurant isn’t what it used to be. The pizzas are expensive and have very few toppings. The schnitzel looks exactly like the frozen ones you find at Billa; I didn’t recognize the delicious schnitzel from two years ago. What a shame.
Grushof as Falkensteiner Camping?

When settling the bill upon arrival, the advance payment had somehow disappeared. Not exactly professional.

- You need to press the shower buttons harder. The water pressure is low.
- The total electricity charge is no longer... included. However, Grushof’s prices aren’t cheap.
- You can’t try out the gym for just one day to see if the equipment suits your workout routine; you have to pay €2 per day upfront for the entire stay. Over a 14-day period,
that costs more than a monthly gym membership in Belgium.
- The quality of the restaurant isn’t what it used to be. The pizzas are expensive and have very few toppings. The schnitzel looks exactly like the frozen ones you find at Billa; I didn’t recognize the delicious schnitzel from two years ago.

I get the impression that the transition to Falkenstein hasn’t been so good for the quality of the campground and its services. I hope I’m wrong. If I return to the campground, I’ll definitely check first to see if the quality and service are still up to standard. After 20 years of camping, my experience is that such takeovers aren’t always in the customers’ best interest.

Check-in took a long time. Although many regular parking spots were available, we were assigned a spot for our RV in the tent campground. There is only a very basic restroom building with just a few toilets for this very large area. So there was no sign of any “wellness” facilities. Nevertheless, we were charged the full price of €73.

A little river current nearby, where people use floating bands or boats to go with the stream. A nice playground where kids meet. Sanitair nearby, with comfortable space.
Negativ
No steady warm water from the shower, having to press the button every few seconds. Washing machines on coins with chance of errors. For tents it’s no designated placement, it’s first come first serve and chance of busy tent ground.

Surely loved the camping even with some small discomforts (it’s still camping!)

Fantastic
We were pleasantly surprised. Everything was nearby, quick to get to, and easily accessible. The digital Salzburg Saalachtal Cards—great, awesome, 👍. The brochure immediately highlighted the best destinations. There were plenty of other events featured on flyers at the pool and recreation area that were impossible to miss. There was so much to do, and we were really sad to have to leave after just one week.

A very beautiful area and a great campground. The surroundings offer plenty of things to do, and the campground is well-maintained overall.

Unfortunately, the showers are a major disappointment. Very little water comes out of the showerheads, and on top of that, you have to turn the shower back on about... every 20 seconds. This makes showering unnecessarily cumbersome and detracts from the otherwise positive overall impression.

Given the prices charged for the campground, a significantly better shower facility should be a given. In my opinion, there is clearly room for improvement here.

The atmosphere at the Grubhof is always somehow special. Spacious campsites that offer beautiful views of the mountains in every direction. The restrooms are top-notch. Friendly staff. The Saalachtal Card includes many activities and a mountain railway.
Negativ
During peak season, reservations can only be made on a weekly basis. Dogs are allowed only in a designated area.

We really like the Grubhof and always enjoy coming back here.
We just love the atmosphere at the campground and the beautiful surroundings.
It’s a short ride by bike to town and to the shops.
All in all, it’s a great campground.

The campsite was spectacular and the views were amazing. The team at Grubhof were very accommodating. Facilities were spotless. We travelled all the way from UK and was definitely worth it.

The booking process was very poor; the price for one night with a standard car and a small tent is too expensive.
A nice campground with some organizational shortcomings
Booking the campsite was extremely frustrating—it was fully booked online, no one answered the phone, and it only worked when I called the booking hotline for the second time. The first time, they couldn’t help me and even forgot to call me back.
The young Austrian woman at the front desk, however,... was very friendly and knowledgeable; everything went quickly and smoothly there.
BUT: even though the campground was apparently fully booked, not even a quarter of the tent field was occupied.
And the price isn’t justified either—over 40 euros per night for a small tent and a regular car.
But the campground itself is very nice.

No swimming available; the campground is completely without shade
Mishaps, bad luck, and glitches right from the start!
Unfortunately, the problems started right from the moment we booked through the reservation center! They don’t understand German very well, and things didn’t go smoothly the first time around! We had two RVs and, of course, wanted to park next to each other. You can specify this when booking. Then I... tried several times to call the front desk directly so we could park next to each other—but no one answered, and I had to hang up after three-quarters of an hour each time.
Upon arrival, the Platinum spots were indeed reserved, but one was all the way up front and the other was diagonally in the very back. According to the front desk, changing the reservation wasn’t possible. So they banished us to the tent field. We couldn’t even use the new, more distant washhouse because we didn’t have access to it. Instead, we had one washhouse with four showers for the entire, large campground. Unfortunately, this isn’t up to Falkensteiner standards! The extra cost compared to other campgrounds isn’t worth it!

The XXL pools are absolutely amazing. The Wellness Alm was also a real highlight.

There was absolutely nothing to complain about. One small suggestion: maybe get a few kettlebells for the gym and add a water dispenser.
Top Vacations
It really is one of the best campgrounds I've ever been to. Great service, excellent facilities, and helpful staff. There was absolutely nothing I could complain about. We'll definitely be back.

We were particularly impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the facilities and cleanliness of the restrooms, and the beautiful location, which allowed us to take our dogs for walks several times a day.

Our Favorite Campground
The campground is in a wonderfully peaceful location on the Saalach River, nestled in a stunning mountain setting along the Tauern Cycle Route.
Shopping options are available both on-site and within easy walking distance.
The possibilities for day trips are endless.
The restroom facilities are well-spaced... and very well-maintained. The only minor criticism here is that two showers were out of service, which resulted in some waiting time.
The staff at the front desk is very courteous, and the campground is well-maintained.
The zoning is a good idea (at least for us as dog owners).
We’ll definitely be back.
