There are dispensers with dog waste bags everywhere, which is great for dog owners. There’s a wide range of activities for the kids, and Niko and his team are a real hit when it comes to entertainment. The prices at the shop and restaurant are absolutely fair, and the campground is kept clean every day, which makes for a lovely environment. The rules are enforced, and guests are very relaxed on the grounds. Great activities for kids. The fantastic adjacent swimming pool is included in the price and provides a nice way to cool off on hot days. We were only there for two nights, but we’ll definitely be back. - TPTorsten P.avgust 2026PozitivnoClean, good location, good restaurantNegativnoPublic Outdoor Pool HoursVery satisfiedWe (2 adults) really enjoyed it; the restrooms were always clean, the food at the restaurant was good, the campsite was perfect in terms of size and location, and the evening show (fire and acrobatics) was very good.The campground is in a great location right on the outskirts of town; you can get into... town or out into nature for hiking in no time. It’s great that you can use the adjacent outdoor pool for free.
The only downside was that the outdoor pool closes at 7:30 p.m. in the middle of summer when it’s 34°—we would have liked it to stay open at least until 8:30 or 9:00 p.m. in July and August. We didn’t like the awning, which had some flaws in a few places, such as broken zippers. We were also a bit disappointed with the kitchen facilities. It definitely lacked a small cabinet or an extra table for storing various utensils.

The restroom facilities are well-equipped and clean.
Access to the adjacent Dreisambad is included in the price, and it’s a 10-minute walk to the center of Kirchzarten, with shops and restaurants. Public transportation connections... are also very good; thanks to the Konuskarte, you can easily travel for free to Freiburg, Todtnau, and many other destinations in the Black Forest.
I can also recommend the local restaurant, Herr Fröhlich (though it’s best to make a reservation).

This campground definitely deserves its 5-star rating, and with the extra perks (Konus Card, outdoor pool, etc.), it offers excellent value for the price.

Site 318 was great because it’s shaded by trees, which was really nice when it was 35 degrees. The swimming pool next door, which we were able to use, was also great. The restrooms were clean. We deducted one star for the childcare. My kids are 6 and 8,... and unfortunately, the entertainment program wasn’t really geared toward them. The same three songs were played over and over during the morning tour of the campground and when the kids were being “rounded up.” They could do better in the age of Spotify and the like 😉 The activities were mostly focused on crafts. As a result, my kids were sometimes bored and thought it was a shame that there was “nothing” going on. But that’s just a matter of personal preference. The price for a campsite without water and sewer hookups is very high, and the seemingly haphazard mix of sites for vacationers and long-term campers is a bit odd. Cleanliness was impeccable, and the restaurant is highly recommended. The staff in all areas were extremely friendly and always helpful.
