For someone looking for a one-night stopover during a long journey, this is not for you. The site is wonderfully developed and clean. The staff are friendly... and helpful. The price for a pitch and family bathroom for one night was around €70. A **** campsite needs to be maintained financially. Our Neptun mobile home was big enough for two people. The rooms were in very good condition, very clean and tidy. The heating worked perfectly. Car parking directly at the MH. - Marlies K.Aprilie 2025KNAU Campingpark Essen-Werden with great potentialWe reached pitch no. 7 and the surrounding area with family pool in the pouring rain! The unparceled pitch is covered with coarse gravel in places, with patches of grass in between and potholes and mud holes! We didn't discover any lighting on the pitch. And so my husband had a bad fall in the dark:... he banged up his left knee and tore his trousers at the knee.
The whole area around pitch no. 7 resembles a muddy pitch when it rains, and an uneven, bumpy, unkempt area when it's dry, where nobody wants to park their expensive motorhome to go on vacation, and a person with a walking disability doesn't dare go outside because of the unevenness.
What a pity for the tenants and for this beautiful site on the Ruhr with its many leisure activities in the region!!!
Comfort pitches today have a paved driveway to the pitch for the motorhome, a paved surface for the mobile home and a level terrace without mud holes and..., they also have a fresh water connection and a waste water connection directly at the pitch; THAT'S how you travel these days!!!
The top management at KNAUS should think progressively for the future and finally make A N P A C K EN instead of spoiling the tenants' enjoyment of daily camping life!

As a full-payer, the price/performance ratio is not at all right, the site needs a thorough renovation (paths, lack of drainage, electricity and water connections, cleaning up the permanent pitches, etc.).
In view of the long distances between the sanitary buildings (approx.... 450 m), a third wash house/container should be considered.
The location directly on the Ruhr is great for cycling, the Werden district is approx. 1.5 km away,
Catering; bread roll service and pizzeria on site. Restaurant nearby
Noise level: the SBahn or the road are hardly audible, the airplanes are a bit more disturbing, but you quickly get used to it (night flight ban from 11 pm to 6 am)Tradus automat. - Harald D.Ianuarie 2025PlusuricentralDecemberToo many permanent campers who don't make their pitches particularly attractive. The whole thing has something of a junkyard about it.
The actual pitches are not easy to see, and I imagine it's all a bit difficult when fully occupied...
The same goes for the one sanitary facility at the entrance. In... December it was ok (even if the way is a bit far) in the high season difficult!
