There is one thing, though: there isn’t enough lighting on the campground; my wife always felt uneasy when she had to go outside in the evening. There could also be more water stations. We stayed here for a whole week and were able to relax very well. The staff were very friendly and always checked in to see if everything was okay. Overall, our interactions with the team were always pleasant.
The sites are a good size and always have... a bit of gravel in the middle. We had no problems with our awning and were able to set it up without any issues. The restrooms are well-maintained and were always very clean. It can get crowded during peak times, but you never have to wait long. Even now in the fall, it was never uncomfortably cold there—it was actually very pleasant.
The restaurant comes highly recommended; the food there tasted really good, and you can eat it at your own site for a small deposit. The prices for the dishes are very reasonable.
With the Allgäu-Walser Card, you can take the bus directly from the campground to any destination for free. And, of course, use the mountain railways—which is a huge advantage.
The campground is very dog-friendly; almost everyone there had a dog.

Highly recommended, especially for dog owners. We had a nice, reasonably spacious site with satellite TV reception and evening sun. One minor criticism: our nearest neighbor was quite close... to our awning. The sites vary greatly in size; some are quite cramped, while others are very spacious at the edges.
The restaurant offers a very decent selection of food. There’s a bread roll service and a small selection of fruits and vegetables.

And then there’s the location.... Mountains as far as the eye can see, the murmur of the Breitach River, nestled in greenery.

Plenty of water faucets available. Given the size of the campground, there are somewhat few showers, which can lead to wait times in the morning and evening. It’s also quite a distance from the back of the campground to the restroom facilities.

Our site was spacious. The fine gravel on each site prevents mud from forming when it rains.
Upon arrival, we were met right away as we pulled in and guided to our site. We checked in after setting up our camp in a relaxed manner.
The... campground isn’t huge and is very quiet, which we really liked.
Thanks to the great bus service, nearby destinations are easy to reach without having to use your own car. The staff were friendly.
The restrooms are also modern and always clean.

The site offers a bread roll service, a selection of very tasty food, drinks, homemade cake, and ice cream. There’s also a small selection of fruits and vegetables, as well as everyday essentials.
The staff is consistently... friendly, and the cleaning crew does a great job. They also take the environment very seriously (bring your own container for bread rolls, meticulous waste separation).
Unfortunately, in our opinion, the high number of dogs at the campground doesn’t quite fit with this ethos. When taking a walk in the surrounding area, you find “hidden” dog waste bags everywhere, and the noise level has also increased significantly as a result.
The public transportation connections are also excellent—there’s a bus stop right in front of the campground with buses every 10 minutes, and bus and mountain rail fares (for stays of 4 nights or more) are included in the tourism ticket.
