Plenty of nature and friendly service
The campsite is located right on the Breitach River—the mountain scenery practically begins right outside your RV. Highly recommended, especially for dog owners. We had a nice, reasonably spacious site with satellite TV reception and evening sun. One minor criticism: our nearest neighbor was quite close... to our awning. The sites vary greatly in size; some are quite cramped, while others are very spacious at the edges.
The restaurant offers a very decent selection of food. There’s a bread roll service and a small selection of fruits and vegetables.
All in all, a highly recommended campground.

The staff could be a little friendlier. A smile on your face makes all the difference!! That's what I always think. And you still need to practice bagging the rolls! We got the wrong rolls twice!

Beautiful Campground
The campground is idyllically located in the upper Kleinwalsertal valley. The restroom facilities are spacious and clean, very well maintained, and there is good access to public transportation, with a bus stop 150 meters from the campground. Very quiet location.

Beautiful and warm-hearted
We’ve been going to Vorderboden for several years now and always feel right at home. All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
The restrooms and washrooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant and shop have everything you need.
The campsites are unique and beautiful.
And then there’s the location.... Mountains as far as the eye can see, the murmur of the Breitach River, nestled in greenery.
Bus routes depart regularly right in front of the campground, and depending on the length of your stay, the mountain railways are included.

Overall, a very nature-oriented campground that’s usually quiet at night, located between a stream and a road (dead-end). Plenty of water faucets available. Given the size of the campground, there are somewhat few showers, which can lead to wait times in the morning and evening. It’s also quite a distance from the back of the campground to the restroom facilities.
A major advantage: bus service and mountain railways are included.

Beautiful campground in a great location
The Vorderboden Campground stands out for its excellent location.
Our site was spacious. The fine gravel on each site prevents mud from forming when it rains.
Upon arrival, we were met right away as we pulled in and guided to our site. We checked in after setting up our camp in a relaxed manner.
The... campground isn’t huge and is very quiet, which we really liked.
Thanks to the great bus service, nearby destinations are easy to reach without having to use your own car. The staff were friendly.
The restrooms are also modern and always clean.
The included use of buses and cable cars helps offset the price, which initially seemed a bit high. However, we found the electricity rate of 1.10 to be excessive.

First and foremost: It was always clean everywhere. It was also very quiet, even though the place was full. The kiosk is small but packs a punch. The food and drink options include standard beverages and a small but excellent menu at reasonable prices. Not to mention the bread roll service. The exemplary trash sorting. The Walser menu. A wonderful vacation at a great campground
The campground is in a fantastic location—at the end of the most beautiful dead-end street in the world. There’s very little traffic, so it’s absolutely quiet.
The grounds—and especially the restroom facilities—are very clean.
There are trees on the grounds, so campers looking for shade can find a spot, too.
Good food options and a small kiosk.

Bottom line: One of the best campsites we’ve been to so far.

Have a great time at the Vorderboden Campground in Isaf
We stayed there for four nights in early September to wrap up our summer vacation. As always, the surroundings were gorgeous. This was our third time at the campground, and we’d come back again and again.
Clean restrooms and good food. The perfect spot for wonderful hikes—or, for those who prefer it, just relaxing on the campsite or at the on-site restaurant.

This was our fourth time here, and it’s simply a wonderful place surrounded by nature. The site offers a bread roll service, a selection of very tasty food, drinks, homemade cake, and ice cream. There’s also a small selection of fruits and vegetables, as well as everyday essentials.
The staff is consistently... friendly, and the cleaning crew does a great job. They also take the environment very seriously (bring your own container for bread rolls, meticulous waste separation).
Unfortunately, in our opinion, the high number of dogs at the campground doesn’t quite fit with this ethos. When taking a walk in the surrounding area, you find “hidden” dog waste bags everywhere, and the noise level has also increased significantly as a result.
The public transportation connections are also excellent—there’s a bus stop right in front of the campground with buses every 10 minutes, and bus and mountain rail fares (for stays of 4 nights or more) are included in the tourism ticket.
We feel very at home here and will definitely be back; we wish the entire team continued success.

Our campsite was very nice, and we had sunshine all day long—when it was out. The food and cake at the restaurant were delicious. The bus stop right at the campsite is a big plus for getting to the various activities.

1 week in August 2026 at the campground
We’ve been coming to the valley for several years now. Since we’re traveling in a RV, we take advantage of the “Walsercard” and use the great bus connections with the mountain railways. By bike or on foot, you can head out in many directions right from the campground.
The new buildings at the campground are very nice and well-maintained. The waste sorting system is exemplary. Our verdict: We’ll be back.

Beautiful campground in a great location
The entrance leads directly from the country road onto the grounds and offers little space for check-in. As soon as three vehicles or trailers arrive at the same time, things get crowded. The campsites are lovely and the location is excellent. Plus, you can use the buses and cable cars throughout the Kleinwalsertal for free. Endless beautiful hiking trails

The peace and quiet—during our stay, we didn't hear any music from other campers; the guests are hikers, families, and the like.

The Wi-Fi is practically useless because it's too slow.

A wonderful spot—a magnificent view of the mountains, with the Breitach River flowing right next to it. The spot is located almost at the end of the valley. The road that runs right past the spot isn’t particularly disruptive because of this (and it’s quiet at night). The Walser bus stops right at the... campground—and since it’s at the start of the line, it’s almost always empty here (though it can get very crowded at later stops). The bus and mountain railways are included—we took full advantage of that. There are numerous hiking options at all difficulty levels (from stroller-friendly trails to via ferrata routes).
The campground’s restaurant offers a comparatively large selection of dishes, some of which are of excellent quality. The rolls are very tasty, and there are also delicious homemade cakes available for purchase every day.
