The Vario Home is getting on in years. The furnishings are very spartan. The drain stinks like a sewage treatment plant.
And that for almost 1380€ a week. Absolute rip-off for this accommodation.
No response to complaints (even by email to the manager)... (only a note at reception; I could write my experiences in the reviews and the staff have tried to eliminate the bad smell; always trying also means: not getting it right).

However, the wash house in the back area is getting on in years and should be renovated in my opinion
It's also not the best solution if you want to do your laundry
I paid €20.50... for 4 washes plus drying and that's a lot of money
I think another solution should be considered
Maybe washing coins or something similar

Unfortunately there were no animals in the petting zoo. The sanitary facilities at the comfort pitches were clean but compared to the main house rather older and no facilities for small children. - Martina K.september 2025First vacation at the GiztweilerhofMy son and I stayed at Giztweilerhof for 11 days in a rented caravan and I have to say that everything was great, we especially liked the fact that our caravan was opposite the sanitary block so we had everything we needed, the showers were a bit too short so you had to keep pressing the button but it... was okay. The washing machines are no longer the newest you could hear that they were very loud
We also found the complex very nice. We also ate at Pinocchio once and the staff were very nice and the food was very good. Unfortunately, the evening program for adults was a bit monotonous or it was cancelled due to the weather. My son's favorite place was the cocktail bar because Robert is a super nice person. The cocktails are delicious 😄 There is also a supermarket on site. The baked goods were very good but we found the bread rolls a bit too expensive. We went to the pool twice which we found not bad, especially the aquagym was great. The children's program for the little ones is great they had a lot of dancing.the staff at the reception very helpful super friendly.we found it practical that a bus stop was right across the street that took us into town so we didn't need a car. I know that we will come back even if unfortunately there is no pool anymore. The children and we love the pool, which is exactly what makes the place so special in summer here in Germany. You don't always want to pack everything and drive somewhere to swim!
It would be... a great pity if it was actually torn down.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Communication was uncomplicated, even if it had to be spontaneous.
Everything is explained to you at check-in.
Another highlight was the tickets for public transport, which... take you to Lindau or the other surrounding sights, for example. Not to be used until Austria or Switzerland.
For the children there were nice activities (animation), which the adults also liked.

The site was well frequented, but it was very quiet in the evening and we always found the wash houses clean. The staff, especially at reception, were extremely helpful and friendly. It was a shame that the beer garden closed early on the last few days of our stay....
