Arrival possible until 22.00 hrs.Negativno-No WLAN, after an incredibly long and confusing registration procedure, the hotspot offered works for 5 minutes - but not always. -After a rain shower, many pitches are under a centimeter of water. -Due to the size and the frequent arrivals and departures, you can feel a constant restlessness.Who awards the points?Overall, I don't want to talk the site down, there are sufficient and modern sanitary buildings, although the cleanliness could be better in detail.
The sports and games facilities are good.
However, for us - not again.
And there is definitely no 5-point rating.

This time we wanted to go to Bensersiel, partly because of the many recommendations. We had booked for 14 days. After one week, however, we left disappointed and continued our vacation at another campsite. Better to pay twice for... a week than to stay unhappily on a bad campsite:
Swimming in the sea not possible, during the day the water is several hundred meters away, at high tide in the morning/evening it was too low even for the grandchildren (6, 8 and 10) to swim.
Flying kites is completely forbidden. But for us, it's somehow part of a vacation by the sea.
When we asked the tourist information office whether the children could at least be allowed to fly their single-line kites, we were told that "children have to learn to accept a no". But that wasn't the point and we certainly don't need tutoring in child rearing, but an open ear for criticism from paying guests would have been nice. Especially as kite-making for children was advertised in the leisure program...
So we moved on.
Our second week at another campsite about 20km away was great despite the bad weather. The sanitary buildings were simpler, but just as clean and well equipped. There was a kite meadow where you could always see great kites. Swimming and SUP paddling were great. Sandy beach, beach chairs, mudflat hikes, great playground, nice staff, almost family-like, everyone very friendly and Nordic-relaxed. And in contrast to Bensersiel, the town nearby also had flair.
We cannot understand the enthusiasm of others for Bensersiel and will not visit this campsite again, let alone recommend it to others. The East Frisian coast is a wonderful landscape with many nice places. We spent almost a week at this campsite and were unfortunately disappointed overall. As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the organization of the site was not ideal - the paths were often blocked by vehicles parked in the wrong place and parking was only... possible in reverse across the main road. From our point of view, this also makes it questionable whether the escape routes can be maintained.
The maintenance of the pitches also left a lot to be desired. The grass on our pitch was about 20 cm high on arrival and was not mowed during our stay. This is not acceptable for a campsite with 5-star standards. The space available for the permanent campers also seems poorly organized - some of the pitches are set up far beyond the plots, which significantly restricts freedom of movement on the paths.
Overall, there is quite a hustle and bustle on the site. There is a lack of peace and structure. We found it particularly annoying that several people gathered directly on our pitch (on the sea side) at around 7 a.m. with their chairs, talking loudly and drinking coffee - sleeping in was out of the question.
There is also a distinct lack of privacy - everything seems a bit crowded and confusing.
However, we would like to highlight the very clean sanitary facilities. A big compliment to the cleaning team!
Overall, our stay was unfortunately not as relaxing as we had hoped. We hope that the campsite operator will improve these points in the future - another visit is out of the question for us.Automatski prevedeno.
