Then other people took our electricity cable with them when we were away with the camper. Again the reception helped me very well. All praise... for the reception.
The bread service is also very pleasant.
The toilet building was also very nice.
Thank you very much that we could stay at the Knaus Campingpark. And if I come back to Hamburg, then this site.Automatiskt översatt. - Carina G.juli 2025Urgent overhaul of the sanitary facilitiesThe sanitary facilities are not appropriate for a 4 star campsite. The following deficiencies / criticism should be noted here:
1. mold in all showers. Especially the silicone, if it is still there.
2. joints of the tiles also very dirty and moldy
3. doors of the WC's should definitely be cleaned
4.... washbasin taps dirty (not since yesterday...).
5. the hand dryer is so dirty that you don't even want to dry your hands here anymore
6. when you go to the toilet and flush, it generally gurgles and the water sometimes comes up in showers etc.
7. if several people go to the toilet, it can happen that the feces come up everywhere again - also happened during our stay - really disgusting
8. the room in which you can clean your own toilet is absolutely not adequate. You really have to fight your own gag reflex to empty your toilet there. Feces all over the room on the walls. A garden hose clamped to the wall behind rusty grates and water pipes, which is definitely past its prime. The drain for your own toilet is simply disgusting and urgently needs to be replaced! A room from the 70s or so, but not really ever repaired.
9. the drainage facility for the gray water is so small that you can't really drain there with a larger motorhome.
There are other minor points, but the main points are mentioned.
For a 4 star KNAUS campsite we expected a lot more cleanliness etc for the price we had to pay. This site definitely does not have 4 stars compared to others with 4 stars! There are 'worlds' in between.
The friendly nature of the reception staff and the central location near Hamburg are positive.
An outsider from KNAUS should definitely take a look here and not tell us in advance that he is coming by. A very bad 'figurehead' for KNAUS.

Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found that we had been allocated pitches 1 and 2 - directly on the presentation plate and right next to the gray water outlet, so there wasn't a single tree nearby. In... comparison, your other pitches were in much better condition and in a more pleasant location.
When we complained about this at reception, we were unfortunately turned away in a very unfriendly manner, which we found regrettable.
We also expect a 4-star campsite to have well-kept grounds, beautifully laid out pitches, modern washing facilities, a functioning WLAN and a good infrastructure. The table tennis table, which was carelessly placed between the wash houses, looks more like a makeshift solution and does not meet the expectations of a high-quality campsite.
I will describe my experiences accordingly on the review portal.

The site is well located, close to the highway and you are quickly in the city.

Even though we liked it... very much and can recommend the site, there were 2 small points of criticism.
1. the lawn in front of the mobile homes should have been mowed (then we would have had clean shoes and the garbage lying around would have been seen)
