"Seasoncamper" is ideal for families who don't own a trailer. The campground is beautifully laid out and very child-friendly. We recommend the petting zoo and the playground with a raft and pedal boats.

The restrooms were top-notch. Very spacious, modern, and clean. But the best part was the restaurant. I haven't eaten that well in a long time. The Angus burger and the Angus rump steak were absolutely delicious. And the staff was very friendly.

In the area surrounding the children’s playground, there’s no such thing as a quiet afternoon—it feels like you’re at an amusement park.
Maybe we should have a word with the parents here.
Most of the dogs there were better supervised and better-behaved.
I think it’s much worse for the many animals in the petting zoo right next door. They deserve much more peace and quiet; having the playground right next to them just doesn’t work at all.

To wrap up our tour of Germany, we stayed a few more days at the Camping Resort Bayerwald. A friend had already recommended it to us back when it was still a bit smaller and really only had a few campsites.

We’d booked a spot in the forest area, but switched to a “panoramic spot” after we arrived. It... was a good decision. A very large spot with a beautiful view and just an absolute sense of well-being.

Price-wise, it’s definitely on the higher end, especially since—aside from a pond—there aren’t really any great additional amenities at the moment. But it was fine, and we didn’t regret it. Construction is currently underway at the wellness center; overall, it’ll be interesting to see how the campground continues to develop on this vast property, which was once a golf course.

The restaurant is also worth recommending. Very delicious food. Just be sure to allow plenty of time when it’s busy—in my opinion, there aren’t enough staff members. The restaurant offers a bread roll service. Unfortunately, it doesn’t require advance ordering, so late risers—like me—hardly stand a chance of getting their hands on delicious croissants. I’d love to see an ordering service here.

All in all, a great place; we’ll be back. Our two dogs also felt very comfortable here and were treated very kindly everywhere we went. In general, a lot of people bring their dogs here.

We’d heard about this campground through the YouTube channel “Gogo for Camper,” so we wanted to check it out. We booked it in March and arrived in July full of anticipation. The campground is unexpectedly located just around a bend—there could be better signage. We couldn’t see the sign because there’s... a parking area right in front of it—in the driveway, that is. Unfortunately, there was no check-in lane or anything like that. There were already a few RVs parked in front of the cars, so we couldn’t even drive into the lot. Check-in was friendly, though it took a while before it was our turn (no big deal). As for the site itself: it’s beautifully laid out in a terraced camping style. However, the paths in the “Comfort” section are really narrow, especially when cars are parked in front of the RVs. Without a mover, you shouldn’t choose a spot at the back. The sites are gravel. There’s a patch of grass in front of them. What we don’t quite like is that your caravan is right up against your neighbor’s, and you can look right into their window. There’s electricity, water, and wastewater disposal at the site. The disposal system for the chemical toilet is great. Everything is outdoors and easy to manage without any odor. The mid-level shower and toilet containers are worth their weight in gold. They’re wonderfully modern and simply fantastic. Unfortunately, there’s no place to dry your hands, and sometimes the soap and toilet paper have run out. We didn’t need the shower house on the hill at all, but it’s really nicely furnished, very spacious, and totally cozy and modern. A wellness oasis is currently under construction. It already looks very good on the blueprints. In the upper part of the campground, there’s a petting zoo and a great playground with little boats. Unfortunately, during our stay, it was quite noisy in the immediate vicinity in the morning—just like at a playground. The quiet was over by 7:30 a.m., but we had set up our tent extra far down the mountain. Ultimately, of course, this always depends on the campers. The food at the restaurant is great—it’s delicious and not expensive. We were satisfied.

A nice campground, though without any major highlights. Everything is clean, modern, and newly built. But personally, I think there’s too much hype surrounding this place. It’s just a perfectly ordinary campground in a beautiful setting. For the prices they charge here, I could just as easily be staying... by a lake instead of in a valley. Well-designed, delicious food, and friendly staff. But nothing out of the ordinary. I can get that for less—or for the same price in a better location. An honest 4 stars from me. We won’t be coming back.

Great Campground
It's a great campground for the whole family. The restroom facility is clean and beautifully designed. The vending machine where you can buy coffee is a nice touch. The small swimming lake is perfect for cooling off in the summer. The restaurant serves excellent food, and the breakfast is really delicious. We'd love to come back.

All the staff—and the owner, Rainer, personally—are open-minded, friendly, and helpful.🍀 There’s a lovely... petting zoo with cute animals. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Bayerwald Camping Resort and highly recommend it, especially for families.

The entire resort is very well-maintained, clean, and beautifully landscaped. You can tell that a lot of effort goes into making sure guests feel comfortable here. We especially loved... the natural pool. While it isn’t particularly large, it’s beautifully designed and ideal for a refreshing dip on warm days. The natural design fits perfectly with the rest of the resort and creates a relaxing atmosphere.

The restaurant also impressed us. The food was delicious, the selection was good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. After an eventful day, you can sit together comfortably there and wind down the evening in a relaxed way.

For families with children, the campground is truly fantastic. The playground offers plenty of opportunities to run around, climb, and play. The petting zoo was also an absolute highlight for the kids. This guarantees there’s never a dull moment.

Another big plus is the restroom facilities. The showers and toilets are modern, well-maintained, and very clean. This is especially important to us at a campground, and there’s really nothing to complain about here. The facilities were cleaned regularly and remained in excellent condition throughout our entire stay.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and easygoing everywhere we went. Whether at the front desk, in the restaurant, or on the campground grounds, you feel welcome and well taken care of.

Overall, the Bayerwald Camping Resort is a great campground for families and anyone looking to combine relaxation, nature, and a good range of recreational activities. The natural pool, the excellent restaurant, the playground, the petting zoo, and the outstanding restroom facilities make for a particularly pleasant stay.

We highly recommend it—we’ll definitely be back!

The sanitary facilities are nicely laid out. Individual closed toilets are great. All campsites should do this. Restaurant is good. Beautiful hiking trails from the site. The Gnadenhof is a great thing.

The cleaning of the sanitary facilities should take place much more often. Some of the water in the lower showers no longer drained as everything was full of hair. Toilet paper was hardly ever available. Always empty. No bathing area for dogs. Poop bag dispenser was empty on the 2nd evening and was not refilled the whole stay.
Camping in the Bavarian Forest
The campsite itself is beautifully situated. The entrance should be made more visible as it is hard to see due to the bushes. There is no bathing area for dogs. The small trail in the forest should be mentioned on the website. This will please some cyclists. It should also be mentioned that it is very... steep. Particularly difficult for older people. The sanitary facilities are really very nicely done. Only the cleanliness should be improved. Especially more toilet paper in the small additional bathrooms. There are also no towels to dry your hands. The bathrooms are also only used for going to the toilet, not always for showering.
