From the moment we made our reservation until our departure, we were completely satisfied with our stay. Especially when compared to the surrounding campgrounds, we found the value for money to be exceptionally good.
Upon arrival, we didn’t reach the campground until after... the reception desk’s regular opening hours due to traffic. We had already notified them of this in advance by phone. As a result, a staff member stayed late specifically so we could check in without any problems—a truly friendly and accommodating service.
The entire campground is very well maintained. The individual sites are generously sized, so there’s plenty of room for a trailer and a car, while still leaving enough space for an awning or similar.
We were also impressed by the restroom facilities. They were always very clean and were thoroughly cleaned every day. The small supermarket on the campground offers everything you need for daily essentials. The fresh rolls in the morning were especially nice.
Another plus is the proximity to the sea. Burgtiefe is about 2.5 km away and can be easily reached on foot via a beautiful path along the coast.
Overall, Fehmarn was a pleasant surprise. There are many beautiful trails along the coast, and the landscape is particularly charming for nature lovers. We were also impressed by the weather in September, which isn’t something we take for granted, since we’ve mostly camped in the Mediterranean region until now.
All in all, the whole package just worked for us. We felt very comfortable there and would visit the campground again anytime.

We’d like to see some improvements in the signage for the campsites. While walking around the campground, we noticed that some sites were very close together. Perhaps the sites could be separated a bit more with... hedges, ropes, or something similar. We would have liked a small fenced-in area for the dogs to run around. It’s also very dark on the grounds at night. On the positive side, we liked the dog waste bag dispenser, the reading room, and the snacks available at the front desk. The campground is very spacious, well-maintained, and beautifully landscaped. Our site was pleasantly large and was also conveniently located near the restrooms.
Although the restrooms are showing their age a... bit, they’re still very clean and well-maintained. We especially appreciated the spacious showers, which are included in the price. A small but truly lovely touch was the music in the restrooms—it creates a pleasant atmosphere and provides a little bit more privacy.
Even though the season was coming to an end, the small convenience store was still surprisingly well-stocked. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
We were, however, somewhat disappointed by our visit to the restaurant. The sauce we ordered with our schnitzel cost €4, but at first there was hardly any on the plate. After we mentioned it, we were given a little more sauce—and people at the neighboring tables were also talking about similar experiences. The salmon salad also contained very little salmon for our taste, even though we were charged an extra €6 for it. It was especially disappointing that a pizza was served significantly burnt and, in our opinion, should never have left the kitchen. Maybe we just happened to visit on an off day—especially since the restaurant closes at the end of the season anyway.
Despite this minor disappointment at the restaurant, we really enjoyed our stay. Be sure to wash EVERYTHING you use—all dishes. SLIPPERS are highly recommended; there’s no vacuum cleaner and it’s not clean. Tip: Don’t just wash the sheets—bring your entire set... of bedding! Be careful with the toilet! OUR toilet was loose—you could practically pull it right out. Otherwise, a very nice place with very clean showers! Sehr nette Mitarbeiter ob an der Anmeldung oder im Tante Emma Laden oder auch im Restaurant.
