The campground is very spacious, well-maintained, and beautifully landscaped. Our site was pleasantly large and was also conveniently located near the restrooms.
Although the restrooms are showing their age a... bit, they’re still very clean and well-maintained. We especially appreciated the spacious showers, which are included in the price. A small but truly lovely touch was the music in the restrooms—it creates a pleasant atmosphere and provides a little bit more privacy.
Even though the season was coming to an end, the small convenience store was still surprisingly well-stocked. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
We were, however, somewhat disappointed by our visit to the restaurant. The sauce we ordered with our schnitzel cost €4, but at first there was hardly any on the plate. After we mentioned it, we were given a little more sauce—and people at the neighboring tables were also talking about similar experiences. The salmon salad also contained very little salmon for our taste, even though we were charged an extra €6 for it. It was especially disappointing that a pizza was served significantly burnt and, in our opinion, should never have left the kitchen. Maybe we just happened to visit on an off day—especially since the restaurant closes at the end of the season anyway.
Despite this minor disappointment at the restaurant, we really enjoyed our stay. The only (minor) issues were the rear window, which wouldn’t close properly, and the heater, which I couldn’t get to work.

We were offered several spots and were able to take our time choosing one—even for just one night’s stay. We’ll be back and will enjoy the campground for longer next time. The restrooms were neat and clean, the convenience store was well-stocked, and the direct access to the ocean was especially nice. A great place. Sehr nette Mitarbeiter ob an der Anmeldung oder im Tante Emma Laden oder auch im Restaurant. - DHDennis H.september 2026Another wonderful experience, with a few minor drawbacksWe’ve been coming back to your venue time and time again for many years, most recently in 2024. Compared to our last visit, we’ve noticed some changes in the organization—changes we generally understand, such as the rules for parking vehicles or the procedures for paying in advance—but things were different... in previous years. You used to have a very open and accommodating style, and that was evident at the campground in terms of the mix of people and the atmosphere.
It feels like this has changed—perhaps because you’re looking to adjust the campground’s concept, or maybe our impression is mistaken and it was simply a coincidence.
In any case, we’d hope that Camping Südstrand retains its original charm and perhaps deliberately avoids the glossy image of other campsites on Fehmarn.
In our opinion, there’s also a bit of a gap here between the presentation and the quality of service at Kublik’s Restaurant. The renovation of the building is very nice and certainly conveys a certain standard, but this isn’t quite matched by the quality of the food and the service.
This “criticism” is certainly nitpicking, but I hope you value an honest opinion and can make something of it. We’ll definitely stop by again!

The restroom building needs renovating; the shelves and mirrors are mounted too high. It’s impractical for shorter people. Oh, and the dish rack in the dishwashing area is mounted way too high.... There’s dust and cobwebs everywhere. The access road to the campground is very narrow; the only places to pull over are off the paved road and halfway into a field or ditch. Der Urlaub fängt bereits beim Einchecken mit dem netten Personal an. Da ich nun das erste Mal mit meinem E-Auto und Wohnwagen anreiste, freute ich mich sehr darüber am Platz entspannt über Nacht ein wenig nachzuladen. Die Abrechnung erfolgte unkompliziert zur Abreise.
