Feedback on the Stay
The campground is very beautiful and especially well-designed for children.
What we didn’t like at all, however, was the condition of restroom building 3. From Saturday morning through Sunday, the women’s restrooms weren’t cleaned even once. The cleaning schedules were either out of date or weren’t being... followed properly.
Fortunately, we were able to use other restroom buildings, though in our opinion, this shouldn’t be the case.
One more small note about the showers: The shower stalls are very small. Also, your clothes get wet in the drying area if you don’t hang them all the way at the top.

Despite these issues, the campground is generally worth recommending.

Great campground surrounded by beautiful nature
We spent five days at a dog-friendly campsite, and there are beautiful places to walk or hike all around it. The lake landscape is right next to the campground. All the staff are very nice, especially the big dog lover (who used to be from Hesse).
I think we’ll come back a third time, too.

Great campground
For us, it’s the perfect campground. It caters to so many different types of campers—families with children, anglers, solo travelers, groups, and, of course, us “dog people.” It’s super clean, tidy, has very friendly staff, and well-maintained facilities.

No star, no use, no use, no rating
A dog shower right next to the dog park would be great. Also, we couldn’t find the existing shower—but that’s not a big deal for us since we have “self-cleaning” dogs. Here’s what else we’d like to see: more fenced-in areas and year-round camping. The heath is worth a visit even in late fall and winter. So we’ll just have to come back around Easter or so.

Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. If the restroom facilities aren’t cleaned on the weekend, that’s a problem. No toilet paper, dirty floors in all the restrooms. Washing dishes in a tiny, windowless space. Two sinks that you also have to share with other campers. It gets damn cramped in there. There are also sinks outside the building. With no roof over them, it’s naturally freezing cold this time of year. From conversations with other campers: You have to pay extra for everything—fishing, launching a boat, the kids’ trampoline, etc. The only bright spot was the staff at the front desk. They were always friendly. The downside is that the receptionists also run the little shop. The prices there were outrageously high—for example, 1 (one tomato) for €1.00. Bread rolls weren’t cheap either.

A beautiful, quiet spot
The check-in process was hassle-free, and the campsites were very nice and spacious. There are plenty of restroom facilities, all of which are very clean and well-equipped. The staff at the front desk and in the small store—where you can get everything you need—were friendly. There’s plenty of entertainment for kids and a beautiful swimming lake. We’d love to come back.

The many restrooms, which were very clean and nice

Mosquitoes by the lakes; unfortunately, the Wi-Fi didn't work even with the code, and it was supposed to be free / included in the price
Comfort, tranquility, play, and fun
We were only there for a short week, but we all (2 children, 2 adults, 1 dog) really enjoyed it. We didn’t even get around to the sauna, the pedal boat, or any excursions because during those 2 1/2 days, we mostly just explored and tried out a few things!
It wasn’t very busy, so we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet and the distance from our nearest neighbors.

Have a nice stay
It's a clean place; the fenced-in dog runs are great, as is the dog park. It's a shame you have to pay extra for Wi-Fi, especially since the mobile data coverage is very poor. If there were free Wi-Fi, I'd give it 5 stars.

Worth a visit any time of year
A very nice campground surrounded by nature. Super dog-friendly. Everything is clean and well-maintained.

The only thing we felt was missing was some path lighting. Especially when you had to go to the restroom, you had to use your cell phone flashlight.

Great Vacation
As always, we had a great campsite. The entire booking process, as well as check-in and check-out, went smoothly.
The app we used this time was new to us, but we really liked it. Everything is stored right in the app—you can make reservations and find general information about the surrounding area.
The staff were, as always, very friendly. The atmosphere at the campground was just as friendly. It was another great vacation.

Very good
We were very satisfied, since it was our first time camping. It's a very beautiful place with lots of nature, and it was very quiet. All the guests were very friendly. We really enjoyed it and will definitely come back.

Vacation Near a Military Training Area
The campground was generally fine, though some of the restrooms and showers were quite old.
However, we wouldn’t have chosen this campground if we’d been informed beforehand about its proximity to the Bundeswehr training area—this should definitely be mentioned on the website. You also advertise that this campground is dog-friendly. However, just like us, some dogs simply can’t handle it at all.

A wonderful vacation
Our stay at the fenced-in dog park was great.
The park itself is also nice and clean.
When we had a minor issue, we received immediate assistance. The staff are very friendly.
I do have one criticism: the prices at the restaurant. Nothing is freshly prepared—it’s all just microwaved or deep-fried—and €55.00 for schnitzel and a burger, each with fries and two beers, is really steep.
If you skip the restaurant, you can really relax.

What else can I say? I can't recommend it—it doesn't meet our expectations. If it were better maintained and cleaner, it would have a lot of potential. But as it is, it's designed rather carelessly.

A Dog's Paradise
We decided on a fenced-in area for dogs. It was a great experience not to have to keep the dogs on a leash the whole time for once.
The area is beautifully landscaped. The restrooms are clean. The staff is very friendly. We'll be back.

We'll be back
We felt very comfortable at the campground. The restroom facilities—with the small gray units—were clean and were cleaned regularly. The only thing that needed changing were the toilet brushes; they were always stuck. The restaurant was very nice and everyone was very friendly, but the prices weren’t... right for a self-service place. The food, however, was absolutely delicious. There were trash cans and poop bag dispensers all over the campground, and everything was clean. The campground is a great starting point for walks—the nature all around is simply wonderful. We’d love to come back.

It was great—everyone really went out of their way. And we weren't the only ones who changed parking spots.
Maybe it would be a good idea to set specific cleaning times for the restrooms and showers, so that staff and guests know what to expect and when. But that’s really just a minor detail.

No fish to catch!
The CP Hüttensee Lüneburger Heide campground is actually quite nice. Clean restroom facilities and plenty of space. On the day we were there, the paths to the restrooms weren’t lit at all—it’s a good thing campers bring flashlights—and the difference between the standard restrooms and the rental units... is quite noticeable. But what really smacks of a deliberate rip-off is the trick involving stocking the “Pond View” (Pond 3) campsites with fish. From August 31, 2026, through August 2, 2026, five anglers at five sites—including myself—caught nothing. A tip from another camper then led me to the holding tank for the stocked fish. The fish are kept in the holding tank using the oxygenation system. So it’s very easy to report that 20 fish were stocked. Only those who bought fishing permits don’t benefit from this—except for the realization that they’re paying good money, but the promised service isn’t being delivered. It’s just a shame—I would have come back, but not under these circumstances.
