Vilstalsee Camping Reviews
- 5.0MEMathias E.August 20265.0MEMathias E.August 2026AdvantagesQuiet location; very dark and quiet at night. Electricity and water are readily available.NegativesNothingGreat campground in a quiet location by the lakeWe stayed there one night in August to watch the Perseids. The campground was perfect for that—it was very dark at night, and we could see a huge number of stars (and shooting stars).
During the day, despite the heat, it was easy to handle thanks to the many shaded spots, and cooling off was no problem at all thanks to the nearby outdoor pool.
We’d love to come back!Automatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. It was tidy and clean with shadow-spending trees, a playground and the clean facilities. The owner takes care about the guests and the nearby pool is fantastic.
There is no supermarket in walking diatance. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Be the first! - 5.0
gert k.September 20255.0gert k.September 2025AdvantagesFriendly owners . Helpful . Not far from the lake for relaxing walks , enjoy peace and quiet . There are also good restaurants in the area and the town of Dingolfing is not far away. The newly renovated leisure pool / outdoor pool, which can be reached on foot in a few minutes and also has a lot to offer for children.NegativesEverything a camping vacation needs is offered here. I can't see any disadvantages.Very well located campsite. Everything available, what you need. FriendlyBeautifully situated campsite with many leisure activities. In the immediate vicinity there is a newly renovated and modern outdoor pool with slides and many other possibilities for young and old. Not far away is the large Steinberger See with beautiful sunsets. It never gets boring here. If you like... sports you are of course in the right place . from jogging by the lake to cycling or inline skating or even water sports , here is much possible .
There are several Bavarian inns in the area.
And those who play mini golf or normal golf will also find their happiness a few kilometers away.Automatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Be the first! - 4.0
Jan M.August 20254.0Jan M.August 2025Advantages-Large parking spaces -Natural -Nice operator -Open-air swimming pool nearby -Shops 10 min away by car -Leisure park (Bayern Park ) 10 min by carNegativesThere are no bread rolls there.Super!!!!A small but very fine campsite - unspoiled and beautiful in its own way. Ideal both for those passing through and for a longer stay. The pitches are generously sized and offer plenty of space to feel at home. The operator and his friendly family deserve special mention: incredibly warm, helpful and always ready to answer any questions.Automatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Christian O.August 20232.0Christian O.August 2023AdvantagesClose to the Bayernpark. Pitch sizes are good and sufficient.NegativesClearly the sanitary area. I wouldn't say it's getting on in years. My children were very disgusted in the toilets. We didn't use the showers at all. Something urgently needs to be done here. Not just renovation but also in terms of the state of cleaning. Otherwise, there's not much else on offer in the surrounding area. The swimming pool is also currently closed for renovation and the lake wasn't really inviting for a swim. No shopping facilities on site or nearby. Also no bread service on site. Too badGoes like thisClearly investments need to be made here to keep the place going. Sanitary area really horrible...

- 5.0MGMarcus G.August 20205.0MGMarcus G.August 2020AdvantagesLocation : outdoor pool, lake, flat for cyclingNegativesNo shopping facilitiesYou get what you expect............... and that's not bad.Very nice operator, everything makes a familiar impression. The site is clean, showers and toilets are wonderful. Not a star campsite, but that's not what it's supposed to be.
Outdoor pool around the corner, lake within walking distance with a small snack bar. All around, great for cycling with children,... who are also allowed to run around on the site.
Nothing for shopping or eating out nearby, but even that can be reached by bike in 15 minutes.
We would love to come back :)Automatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Be the first! - 4.0AGAndre G.August 20194.0AGAndre G.August 2019AdvantagesVery good transport connections and shopping facilities in the next townExcellent place for visitors to Bayern Park and as a rest stop in the south.I have been a guest on this site for the fifth year now, the site operator was always friendly, the site was clean, which also applies to the sanitary facilities. The price-performance ratio is very good. The site is very suitable for trips to Bayern Park. The site is very suitable for a rest stop if you are on a longer journey. It is only a few kilometers away from the A 92.Automatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Be the first!

- 4.0SHSibylle H.June 20194.0SHSibylle H.June 2019AdvantagesVery friendly operatorThe charm of this place is the ravages of time...Yes, it was certainly more modern here in the past...the sanitary building on the site is very old and cramped...to compensate for this, there is even a large pitch for cyclists, which the operator has specially sought out in the shade... But why does everything have to be ultra-modern and correspondingly expensive... For us it was just right the way it is... The prices are very reasonable.Automatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Be the first!
- 5.0KSKarl S.July 20185.0KSKarl S.July 2018AdvantagesPlenty of space, friendly welcome, excellent service, great price/performance ratioWe couldn't have done betterGenerous space on the pitch, room for badminton and more. Children's playground also great for our 4-year-old grandchild. Mr. and Mrs. Schweiger took great care of our dog while we were away. Once again a big thank you for that. If we are in the area again, we will certainly come back to this campsite. The 5 of us really felt at home.Automatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Be the first!
- 1.0SESabine E.June 20181.0SESabine E.June 2018AdvantagesLocation good. Nothing else positiveNegativesSanitary grottig, lake stinks and dirty,Unfortunately not againThis was our second time here. This time the sanitary facilities were totally filthy. There was even a door missing in the ladies' toilets. Very disappointing, we won't go there again, although the location is very nice. It's a shame that no more effort is made thereAutomatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Be the first!

- 3.0SASchorer A.August 20173.0SASchorer A.August 2017AdvantagesThere is only 1 advantage: the pitch is clean and well maintained.NegativesAlready mentioned above.BoringNobody was there on arrival; waited for what felt like half an hour; no possibility to order bread rolls; playground in need of cleaning; sanitary facilities see playground; close to the road: too noisy; beautiful site, many permanent campers, the guest who happens to be there is viewed with suspicion.... The lake is not, as one might expect, connected to the campsite. Therefore the name "am See" is misleading and only remotely correct. Conclusion: you should inform yourself carefully before you go there.Automatically translated. No campers have found this rating helpful yet. Be the first!
