"Beautiful location, but a neglected site - Let’s start with the positives. The young staff are very friendly and helpful. If you have a reserved seat, the rolls you order will be delivered right to your seat. That’s really great. During your stay, you have access to a customer account through which you can order bread rolls or pay any outstanding charges if needed. Otherwise, unfortunately, there isn’t much positive to say about the campground. Even though hardly any grass grew on the grounds due to the dry conditions, the weeds thrived magnificently under the barrier ropes between the plots. This makes the campground look completely neglected. And during the entire time, no one from the campground did any work at all. Instead, the operators sat under the awning chatting and gave the impression that they were spending their vacation there. A large sign at the entrance to the reception area proclaimed that dogs were not allowed inside. The operator’s huge dog, on the other hand, was inside the reception area, lying comfortably on the sofa. Who on earth would want to sit on that sofa now? It was no different with the seating area out front. The restroom building had apparently been renovated at some point, but the work was never finished. The finishing touches are still missing in every nook and cranny. Is it really that hard to replace broken toilet paper holders? You’ll also search in vain for adequate lighting above the standing toilets. Unfortunately, the cleaning was also very poor and superficial, and it always smelled of urine due to the waterless standing toilets. The drain for the chemical toilet was a real eyesore. They’d simply placed a small garden shed on a pallet and connected it to water and sewage. The shed was already falling apart at the seams and apparently hadn’t been cleaned at all during our entire stay. In summary, this was one of the worst sites we’ve visited so far. We cannot recommend this site.

"On the web: great; in person: yuck - First things first: the owners are nice, friendly, and very approachable. The campsite itself is very beautiful, right on the Rhine; unfortunately, the grounds are in serious need of maintenance, as is the case throughout the entire site. As you drive into the site, you immediately notice how “neglected” it looks, but maybe that’s supposed to be the “green” part. Unfortunately, the website paints a completely different picture; we felt we were misled and can’t understand the overly enthusiastic reviews, since we’ve seen many campgrounds over the past 30 years that truly deserve 5 stars. This one definitely doesn’t!!!! At first glance, the restrooms appear modern and clean, but take a closer look and you’ll be disappointed. The previous operator started renovations but didn’t follow through. There are two campsites next to the reception area for which they really shouldn’t be charging (view of a “dump” and the stench from toilet waste disposal). The restrooms are cleaned 2–3 times a day, but in a “housewife-style” manner—that’s not enough for a campground!!!!!!!! Bottom line: the campground could be so much better if the operators would actually do something instead of just chilling out (during 2.5 weeks, only one employee was spotted working on the grounds). Would I recommend it? A definite NO in its current state—even the painted bread bag on the grounds doesn’t help.

"Great stay - A real highlight in Braubach! The price-performance ratio is unbeatable and the location right on the Rhine is simply fantastic. The owners are super friendly people who immediately make you feel welcome. Particularly pleasant: check-in and check-out were absolutely straightforward. I will definitely be back!

"Sensational, 100 percent recommendation - We stayed at this campsite for the first time over a weekend and were so incredibly impressed. You could check in online in advance, pay for everything and order bread rolls. The reception was super friendly, the pitches are easy to get to and the bread rolls taste really good the next morning. The showers and toilets are separate, which I think is really good, everything is super clean and very modern. We had a wonderful rest with a view of the Rhine and the ships. You can go hiking and cycling here, it will definitely be our new favorite place.

"Beautiful small campsite directly on the Rhine - Extremely friendly and helpful young people run one of the most beautifully situated campsites on the Rhine. You won't find any permanent campers here (well, there do seem to be two permanent parkers in the northern part of the site ...)! The bread roll service and the quality of the bread rolls are unbeatable. The sanitary facilities are well maintained and very clean. This dog-friendly campsite proves that it is also possible without a barrier (e.g. closed at lunchtime)! Unfortunately, the single wash cubicles, one shower and one toilet in each of the two sanitary areas were permanently locked during our stay. What a shame, there are supposed to be campers who can't or aren't allowed to shower! It's a prankster who thinks that this is an attempt to optimize cleaning costs! The WLAN did not exist for the pitches further away, but is to be installed soon (?). Noise-sensitive campers should have earplugs in stock for the night - ships' diesel engines and freight trains can be very loud ...

Ein Blick auf die Marksburg versetzt den Campingfreund in eine jahr- hundertalte …Vergangenheit. Hier findet man Ruhe und Erholung, worüber die sehr freundliche Betreiberfamilie des Platzes wacht. Braubach liegt inmitten des romantischen Rheintales. Der Ortskern ist ca. 7 Gehminuten von unserem Campingplatz entfernt. Braubach, eine kleine romantische Stadt mit langer Geschichte und mittelalterlichem Charakter sowie idyllischem Flair. Die Stadt bietet geführte Wanderungen durch die Altstadt sowie Weinproben. Schiffsausflüge auf dem Rhein sind durch die vorhandenen Anlegestellen möglich. Die Wein- und Rosenstadt Braubach ist von Weinbergen und Rosenanlagen umgeben. Enge Gassen, uralte Winkel und romantische Fachwerkhäuser machen den mittelalterlichen Charme des Städtchens aus. Für Wanderer stehen ausreichende Wanderwege zur Verfügung. Es lohnt sich diesen Platz einmal zu besuchen.
