Advantages
Exceptionally well-cleaned sanitary facilities Top-maintained grounds with beautiful planting Great view Very friendly owners Dog friendly Surfing at the Reschensee
Negatives
Location at the train station A pool would be nice in hot weather
Very well-kept campsite with a great ambience
We, 2 adults with 2 dogs, were on this beautiful campsite with a caravan and took the opportunity that there were no trains running. We are a bit sensitive to noise, but if you are in the upper part of the site, you certainly hardly notice the trains.
You can go for a walk directly from the pitch. Nevertheless,... it is an advantage to be mobile here.
The campsite is very well maintained and very clean, especially the sanitary building.
Even though the sanitary facilities are no longer the most modern, everything was in top condition (disinfectant in the toilets, spacious showers with sufficient water pressure, etc.).
Very quiet and pleasant atmosphere on the pitch. You can also leave the pitch during the lunch break, the barrier always opens from the inside (also important for emergencies).
We had a top pitch at the very end of a terrace (unfortunately unlucky with the only direct neighbor - a little respect please, if you go to the toilet at 5 am or get up at 6, maybe don't entertain the whole place, but be considerate). The other campers were very considerate, many with smaller vehicles/vans, so that the great view on the terrace pitches was not obstructed. Rather not suitable for liners.
Very friendly owners, great atmosphere on site, overall highly recommended.
Between the public holidays at the end of May / beginning of June the site was surprisingly empty and therefore wonderfully quiet.
Bread roll service very good - they are provided in baskets in a room and you can pick them up when you want. Very environmentally friendly solution as no plastic or paper bags are used.
Unfortunately there is no restaurant on site, but you can quickly cycle to Glurns, where you can enjoy an excellent meal.
Great cycle paths in the area, some too steep for e-bikes with dog trailers. The side valleys of Lake Reschen are particularly recommended for solitary hikes. Mals is very steep, the supermarket is relatively far away and you need an e-bike as the route is very steep.

Mals is great
We stayed at Camping Mals for 3 weeks in August. Everything was great. The view of the mountains, the site layout, the super clean sanitary facilities and the whole campsite was very well maintained. The bakery service was simply mega. Cycle paths are very well signposted in all directions. The Adige... cycle path deserves a special mention. The campsite team was always friendly and very helpful. We had no problem with the 12 m car/caravan combination. It was our first time here and we would love to come back.

Advantages
well-kept facility, good sanitary facilities, beautiful place, free bus and train
Negatives
Hardly any sleep at night due to noisy rail traffic lousy baked goods
Beautiful place with one restriction
The place itself is really beautiful and the village of Mals is definitely recommendable. However, it really has to be mentioned that we never slept so badly anywhere during our eight-week vacation. The train service starts at 5:30 in the morning and doesn't end until 11pm. Trains also run at night from time to time.

arrogant or cagey?
Wanted to rent a place with motorhome around 4 pm for 2 days.

The "receptionist" mumbled to himself for about 1 minute. Then he said: "He doesn't actually do that, but now he's offering us the most beautiful pitch he has?

As tastes differ, we wanted to see the place first. He told us in a nasal voice... that this was not possible! At first we thought it was a joke.
When we continued to insist, he said:
"now you've lost" and we wouldn't get a seat at all.
So we moved on to the next campsite where we were immediately given a map of the site and told to choose a nice spot. (as is usual everywhere else)
Maybe we'll try again next year, maybe there'll be a different employee - who "hasn't smoked anything".

There are just "funny birds" everywhere

Summer 2022
We received a very friendly welcome. Overall, the site is very well maintained and beautifully laid out. Our pitch offered enough space. The sanitary facilities are super nice and always kept clean. The swimming pool is a dream, very nicely laid out and there are plenty of sun loungers to enjoy the beautiful view. Overall, it is a wonderful campsite that is highly recommended.

Summer vacation 2022
The terraced and beautifully situated CP Mals now has 90 pitches, some of which are designed for tents or campervans. Electricity (16 A) and fresh water are available at all pitches. The trees provided us with plenty of shade from late afternoon onwards. The German-speaking Mr. Punter and his staff were... always calm, very friendly and happy to help. Fresh bread rolls could be ordered for every day except Sundays, the small store at reception had some essential items and chilled drinks and ice cream. There were many German and Dutch campers on the site, as well as some Belgian, Italian and English campers. Everything from families with children to senior citizens were represented. The playground was perfect for our youngest. For the older ones there was a table football table and two table tennis tables. Two washing machines and a dryer (5€ each). The sanitary facilities were spotlessly clean and there was never a wait. The price also included free entry to the outdoor pool in Malles/Mals (max. 5 minutes' walk) as well as free travel by bus and train with the included Vinschgaucard and other discounts, e.g. on mountain railroads. The train and bus stations were located between the CP and the outdoor pool. However, this did not disturb the peace and quiet at any time. The location is perfect for excursions without your own vehicle. Malles is on the Adige cycle path, which we cycled in both directions (sensational!!). Bikes can be taken on buses and trains for an extra charge. Sometimes there is a shuttle service. If I have understood correctly, no e-bikes are transported. There is a lot for young and old to experience and discover in and around Malles/Mals. The town center is about a 15-minute walk away. For us, it was a great and eventful two weeks, during which we did a lot on foot, by bus, train and bike and rarely by car. We will definitely be back!

Advantages
Clean sanitary facilities. Best comfort thanks to water and waste water connection on site. Good starting point for wonderful hikes and e-bike tours. Electricity costs no extra charge for normal consumption.
Negatives
WLAN was unusable on our pitch. The price per night is relatively high (high season).
Very nice campsite in wonderful surroundings...
... where we really felt at home for 3 weeks. A wonderful view of the mountains, a pretty village and lots of opportunities to explore the surrounding valleys. The Vinschgau train also makes it easy to reach more distant destinations. It's easy to overlook the fact that the train makes a lot of noise... early on, but this is probably particularly noticeable on the lower level, which is otherwise very quiet as the playground is a long way away. The price is relatively high.

Very nice, clean campsite with good connections to public transport, including to Merano. In the meantime, however, the prices for families have risen so much that we have to pay more than €80/night with 3 children (teenagers) and a dog, which is definitely too much. It seems as if this campsite wants to specialize in retired couples. We are now looking for another campsite in the area.

Very nice location

No catering, difficult to get to the pitch with a larger caravan, no help from the staff
Recommendable
Unfortunately we were only there for one night, nice reception, pitch was okay, unfortunately we had difficulties pushing the caravan onto the pitch with two people, we had to organize help. The pitch had a nice view, but was relatively small. The sanitary facilities were very nice, there is no restaurant... or similar. Unfortunately, there were no bread rolls on Sunday mornings, nor anywhere else in the village. That was a great pity. Overall, I would visit the site again at any time.

Sanitary facilities picobello :-) Directly at the train station Amazing view

a bit fresh in the evening ;-) But it's not the CP's fault :-)
Super CP with a brilliant view
We have often cycled past here on our way south. This time we stopped on the way home from the south because we wanted to cycle the Vinschgau cycle path. You can start directly from the CP and then cycle 63 km along the well-maintained cycle path to Merano. There you can leave your bikes at the train... station and take the Vinschau train directly back to Mahls and pick up your bike. As previously described, the campsite is located directly on the railroad line, but is not at all disruptive. The sanitary facilities are super clean and brand new. The bread service is also great. The bread room is second to none. Very helpful site staff. A clear "recommendable" for anyone who loves the mountains and enjoys hiking.

Super vacation
The campsite is really great. It's not too big, but big enough to feel comfortable. The site staff are very friendly and helpful. The location of the campsite is ideal. The train and bus stations are just 500m away. Despite the proximity of the railroad line, the site is in a quiet location. The trains... arriving and departing do not disturb at all. The pitches could be a little larger, but are sufficient. The fact that the site is terraced does not make it feel cramped in any way. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities was really remarkable. Although the site was very busy, everything was always spotlessly clean. My wife and I can recommend the campsite at any time with a clear conscience. Many thanks again to the groundsman and the cleaning staff!

An outstanding mountain panorama awaits you...
...and a beautiful camping site to boot. We have now been "repeat offenders" several times and are still delighted. We'll be back again! As always, the site and the sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. The bread roll service is excellent. The site is centrally located. The adjacent train... station and train traffic did not disturb us. On the contrary, the adjacent train station meant you could confidently leave your car parked. And since the "Vischgau Card" is included in the price, you can use all public transport throughout South Tyrol, including some cable cars, free of charge. The W-LAN reception was improved and from this year onwards was also good from our pitch, which was a little further away.

Outstanding
Stayed here for a few days in September on the way back from Lake Garda. The site is located above the train station, but it doesn't really bother you. The campsite and sanitary facilities are very clean and on arrival you get the Vinschgaucard, which allows you to travel by train and bus free of charge.... there are also discounted or free admission to some facilities. The town center of Malles/Mals is about a 15-minute walk away, where you can find everything you need for daily life. We would love to come back.

Super place
We stayed at this place for mountain hiking and cycling. Ideal location at the train station, the VinsachgauCard allows free use of the buses and the Vinschgaubahn. Sanitary and infrastructure very clean and well maintained. The Vinschgaubahn runs from 05:15, but is otherwise not a problem.

Negatives
No pitch reservation no mini market and no restaurant Wifi too slow and does not reach across the pitch
Great place with small compromises
This place is really great the staff very courteous sanitary facilities are very clean all in all everything ok. BUT you can not reserve a place so if I like a place bad luck next year I get another one there is no mini market you always have to shop about 15 minutes in Mals and there is no restaurant nearby. Nevertheless 4 stars
