Great campsite
The obviously family-run campsite fulfills all wishes for winter campers. The operators are very friendly and helpful.
Its location close to the Chiemgau Arena makes it interesting for biathlon
biathlon fans.
We find it very pleasant that dogs are not allowed on the site.

Evaluation campsite 01/2026
Although we only arrived shortly before closing time due to a traffic disruption, the reception and the subsequent briefing were very friendly, helpful and detailed. The booked pitch was spacious and the sanitary facilities very clean, comfortable and nice and warm in the cold season. Some cross-country... ski trails were within easy reach and the view of the surrounding area directly from the pitch was beautiful. The center of Ruhpolding is about 40 minutes walk, which you can easily walk along the white Traun. Food markets such as Aldi/Netto are also a 10-15 minute walk away. A bus runs directly in front of the campsite during the biathlon events, although it is reduced considerably outside of the event. I would also like to thank you here for your helpfulness and sympathy for my
hand fracture after sporting activity on a cross-country ski trail.
Despite the accident, it was a wonderful, relaxing vacation and we will be happy to return.

Great place - super service
Great place, short distances to the sanitary facilities. Very well-kept and very clean facilities, super friendly and always helpful staff for all questions and concerns - and that since our first visit in 2019.

Biathlon World Cup
The Ortnerhof campsite is a very well-kept campsite.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful and try to fulfill all the guests' wishes 😀
The leisure facilities in and around Ruhpolding are very good, not forgetting the annual Biathlon World Cup.
I can recommend this campsite without reservation.

Top maintained campsite
We were here for the first time and despite the biathlon, the atmosphere was very relaxed. The sanitary facilities were always spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had pitch 75, which is very large. And the price-performance ratio was excellent.

Friendly staff and owners. Nice large pitches. Quiet. No dogs barking or marking at the caravan or on the site. As the site is dog-free 👍🏼 Clean sanitary facilities. It was a great vacation and we will definitely be back.

All in all, it was a wonderful winter vacation for us.
We are not animal haters, but it was still very pleasant without the four-legged friends.

Hiking, cycling and in winter the cross-country ski trail within walking distance. Very clean outdoor facilities and sanitary facilities. A bread roll service for a leisurely breakfast.

There is no idea about the space :-) The only downside is that guests give the wrong impression with their bad reviews. It is clear and obvious that dogs are not allowed. Every dog owner inquires in advance. Their own selfishness has been shown limits, then they just blame the operators (themselves). That is wrong and unfair!
Very clean, loving family business
A beautiful and well-kept campsite. Helpful and friendly.

Hiking and cycling tours can be started directly from the campsite.

We always like to come and will continue to do so in the future.

The friendliness of the Bichler and Landler families, the cleanliness of the whole site, the sanitary facilities, no need for shower coins. The pitch was ideal for our van and the location at the foot of the Rauschberg was simply a dream. The price-performance ratio was fair.

Wonderful campsite
It was our third time at this campsite and it is simply our favorite place. The location between the mountains is unique. It's wonderful for hiking and cycling. The town is very close by bike and the outdoor pool is a dream. The site is incredibly clean, the wash house has underfloor heating and is always... well maintained. The operators are incredibly attentive, we really got to like them. We actually wanted to go on to Italy, but just couldn't tear ourselves away and stayed there for the whole vacation. With the Chiemgaukart you have various activities for free. You save a lot of money, as the cable cars/chair lifts are otherwise expensive, for example. In Austria we had spent so much money on this, here we were on 3 mountains for free. Hard to believe. Outdoor pool, climbing forest, flyline, ceramic painting, all free. The campsite has a really nice atmosphere, even the permanent campers are very nice, we've had very different experiences. You immediately feel at home and everything you need is available. The children on the site naturally play intensively with the play barn and sometimes damage things. During our stay, the table football table was broken, it was repaired immediately and new pieces were installed. It all works incredibly well. We are totally thrilled and will definitely be back.

Very friendly staff. Large pitch, well-kept sanitary facilities as well as the entire campsite. Quiet and close to Ruhpolding. Very well signposted cycle paths. We used the Chiemgau card a lot. The nearby cable cars, which we could use free of charge with the card, were also great. All in all, top rating from us.

A wonderful, quiet campsite for anyone who enjoys hiking and cycling. The friendliness of the staff deserves special mention. The sanitary facilities were always clean. Anyone looking for relaxation will have a good time there.

There is only one food stand which is open in the evening. There is a bread roll service, but unfortunately no small mini market where you could get small items.
Great place, anytime again.
It was our first time here. The campsite is highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

Missing shower heads (showers) in most of the side showers, unfortunately no water connection on site, lounge for children very outdated.
Summer vacation in Ruhpolding
We stayed at the Ortnerhof campsite with our three children in the summer and were very satisfied all in all! Very well-kept site with very friendly hosts. The location is great. On the one hand very quiet, and at the same time a great starting point for many activities. There is a large golf course... right next door and numerous opportunities for paragliding. You can hike endlessly or explore the surrounding area by bike/mountain bike. Fresh bread rolls can be bought at the kiosk from 08:00-09:00, except on Sundays, if ordered in advance.
There is also a small snack bar with chips, nuggets, hamburgers etc., but we didn't try it. We enjoyed the many delicacies of Bavarian cuisine in the surrounding restaurants and mountain huts. The Chiemgau Card handed out to everyone on arrival is a real bonus, especially for families with children! It includes lots of really great activities and highlights that you can use free of charge thanks to the card! That was great!
We will definitely be back!

- Alleged kiosk on the square that only sells featured rolls from 08.00-09.00 - Beer garden flair in front of the chemical toilet and food truck - Motorcycle race track a few meters away from 05.00 a.m. it echoes through the valley on the route to Berchtesgaden ... cruel ! - Very poor to no lighting in the rear third of the site - Much too narrow pitches between the campers... - Felt like a premium permanent campsite...few worse vacation pitches - No water supply at the pitch in the rear third
Does not meet the "advance praise" and expectations
We arrived at the campsite with a lot of praise in advance and were therefore disappointed with the site due to the aforementioned disadvantages.
As soon as you arrive, you notice the hundreds of prohibition notices hanging in the wash houses, of which there is only one. When they are cleaning there,... you have to "hang in there".
How can you set up a truly improvised beer garden 3 meters away from the chemical toilet? One can only hope that the snack van that has been brought in (with confusing opening hours) has its last hours ahead of it. The smell of deep-fat fryers can be smelled all over the place. Without exception, the staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive. That was exemplary!
The sanitary building was always spotless and very clean. All in all, we have the impression that summer is just additional business and the real focus is on winter.
Nevertheless, CP Ortnerhof is not a bad campsite, but in our opinion it is highly overrated.
We would recommend it - but only to a limited extent.

We stayed at the Ortnerhof for the first time, and that was during the biathlon week. Super service, very nice staff, even last-minute changes were still possible. Everything is okay in the bathroom and toilet :-), the sanitary facilities are well maintained. Bus stop right next to the campsite.

Very well managed campsite
We have been coming to the Ortnerhof campsite for the Biathlon World Cup for a few years now and are always very satisfied. We also like to come to the Ortnerhof campsite on the way south or on the way home. The Bichler family is very helpful and friendly.

Sanitary super neat and very clean. Small kiosk open in the morning to get bread rolls. Very tasty, by the way. Up-to-date information in the showcase. We were able to arrive a day early on short notice.

The announced burger food truck unfortunately had too few products. But that's not the site's fault.
8-day stay via Biathlon 2025
We were looking for a campsite that was open all year round. We arranged to meet up with friends at short notice and off we went. We had originally booked a day later, but we managed to get through with the caravan, so we arrived a day earlier. We called the Bichler family from the road and it was no... problem at all. After registering - we didn't actually register until the afternoon - the boss took us to the pitch with the 🚜. Our friends were allowed to drive straight there with their four-wheel drive. We passed the sanitary building with drying room and kiosk. Everything important and new was also displayed in the shop window.
After setting up and taking our first photos of the surrounding mountains, we had a nice cup of mulled wine.
Great and clean wash house, good bus connections.
We will be back. Absolutely.
The almost 1000 kilometers were worth it.
