Beautiful grounds with a lake and a beach bar.
The vineyard is also beautifully landscaped, with wine barrels and its own private cabin featuring a toilet and shower!
The campground is a great starting point for bike rides and hikes, and it’s just a 10-minute bike ride to Bad Dürkheim.

There’s no greenery between the individual sites. A few fewer sites and more greenery would greatly improve the campground. As it is, it looks like a parking lot for trailers, tents, and RVs. - A major drawback is that when booking, you can’t see which sites are available, nor can you choose your own site, as you can at most other campgrounds (Dependence... on arbitrariness and a lack of transparency)
- We happened to notice the layout of the site (5 meters on both sides of the designated number) by chance
- I had booked multiple sites, and the stamps were simply given in full to one person involved—without asking if I had a map or wanted one, and without communicating this to me. It wasn’t clarified until after my third attempt to speak with someone

For us, the lake was the main reason for our visit. On top of that, the noise level at the Aloha Bar is really unbearable. Other guests were also very inconsiderate—something we're not used to. - JBJosef B.Ağustos 2026Olumlu yanlarıBeautiful campground in a great areaOlumsuz yanlarıPoor communication on the part of the campgroundA So-So Vacation Due to Blue-Green Algae in the LakeOne of the main reasons we chose to spend our vacation at Knaus Camping Bad Dürkheim was the Almensee, with a campsite right on the lake where we could swim and enjoy water sports. We received our booking confirmation on August 6, 2026. However, since July 7, 2026, there had been an increased health... risk at Almensee due to blue-green algae, which was known to the campground management. Since we have pre-existing health conditions, we were unable to go into the Almensee. Unfortunately, we were not informed of this health risk at the time of booking, in the booking confirmation, or on the campground’s website. As a result, we were unfortunately unable to spend the swimming vacation we had hoped for there.
We would certainly have looked for another campground if we had known about the blue-green algae problem.
Open communication on the part of the campground would have been helpful in this situation.

A very nice place—the reliability of the booking process and the cleanliness were particularly noteworthy. Great value for the money. The new restaurant is really good 👍 The only negative point concerns nighttime quiet hours—the playground was still being used for soccer until 1:30 a.m. in some cases. Very unpleasant.

The restrooms were clean every time we used them. The campground was cleaned regularly. I had explicitly mentioned this during my initial inquiry by phone. The reason given was that the restaurant was too crowded. The entire upper half was completely... empty after various guests had checked out, and the staff was extremely unfriendly and unwilling to find a solution. As a result, we left one day early! Overall, the staff behaved very unprofessionally, addressing arriving guests in a completely inappropriate tone! - CBClaudia B.Ağustos 2026Not necessarily recommendedThe value for money isn't great when it comes to the wine barrels. At 40 degrees, a parasol would be great on the terraces. The staff at the campground restaurant are overwhelmed. I've never seen so many unwashed glasses on a long bar counter. So the overall impression isn’t positive. The value for... money is far better when eating outside the campground. Unfortunately, the swimming lake was unusable due to blue-green algae. I suppose that’s just due to the climate. The restrooms are very well maintained. The breakfast delivered to the Weinfass in the morning is a disaster. No cheese, no sausage, no butter… just small, pre-packaged portions of jam, honey, and processed cheese… 4 rolls and a pot of coffee with coffee creamer. If you don’t like jam or sweet things, you’re out of luck.
