It was an amazing introduction to the lakes area with super easy access to bike trails and the lakes. We tried out the kayak rental on site which was easy and convenient . We caught the train to Aarhus which was also... very straightforward. It is a stunning area and the swimming lakes are so clean and well maintained with amazing facilities. The staff at the camp were so chilled it really helped with creating a relaxed atmosphere. We loved it. Our favourite campsite out of 5 on this trip. It’s had new operators since 2024, and you can tell things are changing.NegativnoSome of the parking spaces are very tight; if you have a RV longer than 7 meters, take a close look—it might be a tight fit. The restroom facilities are clean but showing their age.Great spot near the cityA great stop in Silkeborg. We liked the site; you can tell they’re investing in modernizing it. There’s a wonderful sense of community here. There’s plenty of space to get together and cook. Everything is beautifully designed, and a lot of love has gone into every detail. It all feels very warm and welcoming... and really made our stay in Denmark so much better. One thing—whether you see it as a pro or a con—is that there are hardly any Germans there. Cold beer in reception (always a plus)....
You can walk into Silkeborg mostly along the river, but the last bit is small streets, with some amazing river front houses.
Dog friendly and loads of walking routes, from the campsite.
They have a central area for bands, with BBQ area, small kitchen and fire pit, and loads of seating.
Simply an experience you need to feel.

Lovely people who own the camping, as a sociologist I loved the Social area were children can play, adults bbq, cook, socialize. The camping is only a walk to Silkeborg centrum, the river where you can swim, kayak etc. Overall: perfect stay for short of longer periods of time!NegativnoThe sanitary facilities where proper and clean, However, the sanitary facilities are quite outdated.Ly Outdoor reviewWe loved the place and might come back in the future. Pitches drained well. Lots of area for kids to play, not close but IN nature. Walking distance from Silkeborg. There is a sauna as well and even had live music at the campfire.
