The helpfulness and friendliness throughout the entire campground really impressed us—everyone is courteous, helpful, and you feel welcome right away.
The area around Sassenberg is also beautiful and offers countless things to do. The adjacent Feldmarksee lake, with its restaurants, is great, and the campground’s own swimming lake is simply fantastic. ☀️
A special highlight for us is the new restroom facilities—modern, super clean, and truly beautiful. The animals that live on the campground also make the stay special and give the whole place a wonderful, family-like atmosphere. 🐴🐑

A large swimming lake (swimming requires an admission fee), along with adjacent dining options and an adventure golf course, is within walking distance.
The town of Sassenberg is also easily accessible on foot or by bike, so you can run small errands without a car. The staff always goes out of their way and is very friendly, no matter where you go. The restaurant serves delicious food. Spacious campsites by the lakeNegativnoDogs—even though they were banned at the lake sites. Every trip to the restroom turned into an ordeal. The restroom at site 70 doesn’t have a sink for chemical toilets, and there’s nothing in the restroom to dry your hands with. The kiosk has only a limited selection, and the opening hours aren’t guest-friendly.A very nice campground with a swimming lakeWe spent a week at the campground in August 2026 on a vacation with our grandson. We really enjoyed it. Since we had booked a deluxe campsite, it was, of course, just a short walk to the water to cool off.
Quiet hours were generally observed, so nothing got in the way of a good night’s sleep. There were... also plenty of activities for kids: several playgrounds, arts-and-crafts sessions, a beach soccer field, an animal enclosure...

Clean restrooms.NegativnoSummer festival with noise until 1:30 a.m. Another weekend featured a triathlon, which meant you couldn't drive off the campground after 10 a.m. The staff isn't very helpful, but they do answer questions.A great campground, but it can be hard to find some peace and quiet at timesOn the map, it looked like the restroom was nearby, but it turned out there was a fence in the way.
Charcoal barbecues weren’t allowed due to the fire hazard; however, this rule wasn’t enforced. Also, it wasn’t always quiet by 11 a.m. In the morning, around 8 a.m., gravel was being moved on the other... side of the hedge, or tractors were driving around the property, so sleeping in wasn’t really an option.
There were metal mesh grids in the ground, and the neighbor tripped over them quite badly.

Since we didn’t have a power adapter yet, they lent us one. The restrooms had been renovated and were more than clean—and really nice. The small swimming lake is perfect for cooling off... and is fun for all ages.
We’ll definitely be back. Other than that, everything was excellent.An all-around wonderful stay—we'll be back!We stayed at the Münsterland Eichenhof campground from July 3 to July 5, 2026, and felt completely at home. The newly renovated restroom facilities were clean and very well maintained at all times—a big shout-out to the cleaning team. The entire staff was also exceptionally friendly, warm, and helpful.... Thanks to the online check-in, our arrival went completely smoothly. We loved the Sunday breakfast at Gasthaus Eichenhof: For under €16, you get a generous buffet with a wide selection and very attentive service. Feldmarksee is within easy walking distance. There, you can visit the beautiful beach or simply enjoy the ice cream shop and restaurants by the lake on your own. Thank you also for your feedback regarding the shower hours. Unfortunately, the nightly closure between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM is necessary to prevent vandalism and misuse of the showers during the night. We are aware that this can be somewhat restrictive for some guests, especially in the summer. That is why we regularly review whether and how we can make improvements in this area in the future.

A. K.julij 2026PozitivnoThe new washhouse is nice, even if it's not quite finished yet. The swimming lake and online bookingNegativnoThe restrooms are new, but much too small and too far away. Also, they aren't finished yet, so there are only two sinks for everyone. Upon arrival, we didn't get the reserved spot, but instead a very poor alternative. Cleanliness is poor—not worthy of 5 stars.It was tough even before we got there, and it stayed that way…Even before we arrived, we received a call saying that the family currently staying at the spot we’d chosen wanted to stay there. We were offered an alternative, even though we’d specifically chosen that exact spot for ourselves over two months ago.
The alternative was terrible, and we only stayed because... we were just passing through anyway.
We were indeed by the lake, as we’d chosen when booking, but right next to a small restroom and dishwashing station. The campground was full, so there was a lot of activity at the
small restroom building, which had only one toilet per building. The new, large washhouse was simply too far away, so the dishwashing sinks were also used for brushing teeth and other daily hygiene. Since there were no sinks available yet at the new washhouse, everyone on the campground used the two sinks at the small restroom building. So there were lines at the toilets and sinks. Consequently, everything was pretty dirty. At the large washhouse, there were only 4 toilets and 4 showers, so waiting in line was the norm here as well. Cleanliness left much to be desired here, too. Paper was flying around everywhere, since the only place to dry your hands with a hair dryer was in the large washhouses. In the small restroom cabins, there wasn’t even a way to dry your hands. They were like train station restrooms. For days on end (despite a cleaning crew coming in the morning), the men’s urinals were yellow and dirty, and the women’s had the same grime on the flush button. People were running back and forth between our RV and car, even though there was barely any space. People would stop right next to our breakfast table to empty the toilets. Trash disposal is only available at the old site. The information that the pre-ordered rolls had to be picked up by 10 a.m. wasn’t posted anywhere, so we almost missed the deadline. We are very sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations.
We particularly regret the situation regarding the campsite you originally booked. We had already contacted you before your arrival because an unforeseen situation had arisen at the last minute.... This decision was not an easy one for us, as we wanted to avoid having a family with children interrupt their vacation and have to change campsites. We understand that this caused you inconvenience, and we apologize for that. Incidentally, the alternative site we offered is normally one of the most popular lakeside sites at our campground.
However, we cannot quite understand the statement that the new restroom building is too far away. The distance from your campsite to the new restroom building is about 200 meters. Furthermore, the restrooms were located right next to your campsite.
We’re sorry that you found the cleanliness to be inadequate. Especially during peak season, our restroom facilities are cleaned several times a day. Unfortunately, when occupancy is very high, it’s not always possible to remove every bit of dirt immediately between cleaning intervals.
You’re right that the smaller restroom buildings currently don’t have hand dryers. These will be installed this coming winter. The additional sink areas at the new restroom building are also still being completed.
Your comment regarding the bread roll pickup is also valid. We’re sorry that you weren’t aware of the pickup time. In the future, we’ll make this even clearer to our guests during check-in and when they place their orders.

The hours for trash disposal are a bit limiting. Also, unfortunately, the farm store only has very short opening hours in the morning. On the other hand, there’s a really well-stocked vending machine with fair prices. Thank you also for your constructive feedback. Once our new restroom building is completed, access to dishwashing stations and chemical toilet disposal will improve even further. The limited hours for trash disposal are intended to prevent improper disposal and help us keep the campground clean. We try to compensate as best we can for the fact that our farm stand is only open in the mornings by offering a 24/7 vending machine stocked with regional products at fair prices.
