- RWRalf W.avgust 2026PozitivnoCleanliness, Quality, Location, ServiceNegativnoPublic transportation is a little farther awayHigh QualityHigh Quality and a Prime Location in the Upper Vinschgau ValleyThe campground is located between the medieval town of Glurns and the village of Schluderns, with its impressive Churburg Castle on the northern side of the valley. It is partially terraced on a beautiful hillside; the front sites, which offer an unobstructed view of the Ortler, are the slightly more... expensive premium sites. One of these rows is primarily reserved for smaller RVs (VW buses, rooftop tents).
The central building houses the reception desk, a good restaurant (popular—reservations are recommended), a small shop for essentials (including a bread delivery service), and the restroom facilities. These facilities are spacious, very well-maintained, and clean, with plenty of individual stalls for showers and sinks—great. The same goes for the dishwashing area; there are also washing machines available (€4), and the corresponding laundry detergent tablets can be purchased in the shop.
The campsites are on good-sized grassy areas with plenty of trees; however, after a long season and little rain, the ground does suffer a bit.
The staff is very friendly and service-oriented.
There are plenty of options for activities—on foot, by bike, or by bus/train. Nearby and absolutely impressive are, for example, the historic and still-operational Waalwege irrigation channels in Schluderns and Glurns, among many others. Ambitious cyclists (and others) will find a variety of tours ranging from easy to challenging; the Via Claudia Augusta and the Adige Valley Bike Path run through here. For road cyclists, there’s the Stelvio Pass or the climb up to Lake Reschen on a fantastic and challenging bike path—also perfect for e-bikes. Everything is well-signposted. Taking the Vinschgau Railway from Schluderns, you can reach Merano or Bolzano easily and relatively quickly; Schlanders and Nauders are worthwhile little towns to stop at for shopping along the way. A great tour on a budget takes you on the Swiss PostBus through Val Mustair over the Ofen Pass into the Engadin to Zernez, and if you like, you can continue by train to, say, St. Moritz (...) and return in the late afternoon—it’s easy to fit into your schedule.

Everything was just perfect. The spot reserved for us was too small for our awning, so they immediately gave us a bigger one. The staff was very friendly, and the food at the restaurant is excellent. There’s also a small store where you can buy the essentials.

The restrooms, reception area, restaurant, and pool are truly fantastic. We’ve been lucky to have so much sunshine these days and cool evenings. Plus, there are plenty of things to do in this valley.

The cable car takes vacationers to beautiful hiking trails; the lake is clean and the shoreline is very well maintained. The campground, Spiaggia Lago Di Molveno, is clean, well-maintained, and right on the lake. Mountain biking is perfect, cycling tours along the Adige to Merano are no problem. Very close to Glurns, which is easy to reach by bike or on foot. The sanitary facilities are excellent and the swimming pool is very pleasant on hot sunny days. There are no chemical additives for the most part, but the water quality is still excellent.
