Every time we return, we discover something new: improved amenities, new touches, and small and large details designed to make guests’ stays even more enjoyable. Here, the care and attention... given to those spending their vacations at the campground is truly palpable.
To anyone thinking of coming here for the first time, we’d like to say just one thing: give it a try. We’re almost certain that, just as it happened to us, you’ll want to come back again and again.
A sincere thank you to the owners and the entire staff for the care and passion they put into their work. A special thank you to the ladies who handle the cleaning: we’ve seen them work every day with great dedication and attention to detail, and the restrooms have always been spotless. That’s something that really makes a difference at a campground.
For us, Sägemühle is no longer just a campground where we spend our vacations, but a place where it’s wonderful to return and feel at home again.

We spend a week at various campgrounds, and this year we chose this one as well—and we were very pleased with it. A lovely campground... near the center of Prato allo Stelvio with excellent, very spacious sites equipped with every comfort. The facilities are better than what any of us have at home, complete with every amenity. The staff is kind and patient, truly befitting this beautiful campground.
The campground doesn’t have an outdoor pool on-site, but since we have a scooter, we used the public pool—which is also well-organized—for a modest fee.
This valley is well-organized, offering free transportation and discounted access to various cultural events.

The campground stands out for its excellent organization and the beautiful mountain scenery in the Vinschgau Valley.... The very spacious and neatly laid-out campsites deserve special mention. There’s plenty of room here to set up comfortably with a trailer and a large awning. The entire on-site team is incredibly kind, warm, and helpful—you feel welcome from the very first moment. A huge highlight for all of us is the great swimming pool, which is perfect for cooling off and letting off steam after an eventful day in the mountains. The restroom facilities may not be state-of-the-art, but they’re absolutely clean and laid out incredibly practically. The spacious family bathrooms, in particular, made the nightly shower routine with two small children wonderfully hassle-free. Another big plus is the campground’s own restaurant: the food there is simply delicious and of excellent quality. The staff were excellent and very patient. We don’t camp often and had never seen a free toilet cassette cleaner before, which made life very easy. The option to pay for private bathrooms, along with a dog washing station and a drying room equipped with plenty of clothes racks, was just awesome. The sites are plenty big, and we even had... water on-site in addition to electricity. There’s plenty of space between neighbors, and the sites are separated by half-height hedges. With the included South Tyrol Guest Pass Vinschgau, you can use public transportation throughout South Tyrol for free. This means, for example, that you can ride the Adige Valley Bike Path to Merano and take the Vischgau Railway back with your bikes for free.
