Long cable may be necessaryA long weekend by the lakeWe spontaneously decided on the campsite based on the reviews and the location. The reservation was very straightforward and a solution was also offered for our arrival after 6pm.
The search for a pitch on site took some getting used to: the area for day guests is completely unparceled and is located... in an old oak stand.
The disadvantage of the weekend was that the site was dominated by a large group of Brits (the traveling people category) who had spread out over the entire area.
The bathing lake is in a good condition and invited me to cool off even at this time of year.
The large oak trees kept dropping their fruit from a great height onto the caravan roof, which made me wonder what the roof would look like now ...
Nordkirchen Castle, but also Vischering Castle and the boat lift in Henrichenburg are nearby destinations that are easy to reach by bike or car.

Children could swim all day on their own as the tents were directly opposite. As an angler, I was able to fish cheaply and successfully. We had a wonderful view from the tent and could... enjoy the sunrise and sunset.
As the tents are close to each other, I was worried that the neighbors would be too loud and the children wouldn't be able to sleep. But otherwise it was fine. As it's quiet time after 10pm, it was nice and quiet.
The whole atmosphere in the park was very cozy and warm. I had the feeling of having only happy people around me.
Staff was very friendly and helpful!

WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR EXTENDED CAMPING WEEKEND AT YOUR CAMPSITE. THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY, THE SANITARY FACILITIES WERE VERY CLEAN AND THE PRICES WERE ABSOLUTELY OKAY. WHAT WE FOUND VERY UNFORTUNATE WAS THAT THERE WAS ONLY ONE FRESH WATER CONNECTION FOR THE MANY PITCHES IN THE FOREST... AREA AND NO POSSIBILITY TO DISPOSE OF WASTE WATER IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY. EXPLORING THE SURROUNDING AREA BY BIKE IS WONDERFUL. IF THE WEATHER IS DRY, WE WILL CERTAINLY COME BACK AGAIN. IF IT RAINS, THE PITCHES IN THE FOREST AREA CAN BE QUITE DIRTY. BUT WE WILL RECOMMEND THE SITE TO OUR CAMPING FRIENDS.

To the place: Narrow barrier passage. With a large trailer with a width... of 2.50 m, pay attention to the lower left steel post, color-coded. Good access to the site, even with a large trailer.
Oak forest with only one clearing where you have satellite reception. No waste water or fresh water connection. No fire extinguishers seen, although barbecues are in use.
Long way to the toilet block from the rear. Don't forget your bike. Sandy forest floor without drainage. Free pitch allocation.
It was full at the weekend and when I came back at 7 o'clock on Friday evening, my caravan was surrounded by tents, vans and motorhomes, sometimes only 2.5 m apart. In the evening there were lots of children playing and parents partying. I was amazed at how much you can drink. Nevertheless, everything was peaceful and the site was quiet at 10 pm.
About the toilet block: Aged container solution, last seen like this 20 years ago in NL. Very clean, no defects. Shower but with world brands and really only 5 minutes of hot water. Disposal of toilet cassettes exemplary.
Please note:

Conclusion: Ideal for families with small children who want to experience something.
Recommendation: It is essential to build a modern, contemporary toilet block. Invest in the campsite area for tourists (disposal and supply). Fire extinguishers? Abolish the shower tokens, even if the price has to be increased.
Therefore only three out of 5 stars. - Nadine H.august 2025ApprovedWaking up in the morning and having the lake right in front of you is simply fantastic. Nevertheless, there are unfortunately little things here and there that I find very important to make the stay perfect, especially with a child/children. The campsite was always clean and very spacious, which is great... for planning longer walks. There are also 2 nice playgrounds (one large and one slightly smaller) on site and within easy walking distance. The tent itself consisted of a small kitchenette (with kettle, 2 plate stove, toaster, as well as cutlery and dishes, as well as a couch in the anteroom and a large dining table. In the back area there was a double bed (which was unfortunately very deep and you sank into the mattresses) and a bunk bed. The mattresses here were absolutely fine and a very good option for small children to sleep on. There were few/almost no options for storing clothes. Just a clothes rail with 4 hangers and a storage organizer with 4/5 compartments. I don't think it's a good option to have to live out of a suitcase with a small child. There was only a clothes horse for hanging up the laundry. Washing facilities consist of 2 washing machines and a dryer. This costs €1.50 per wash cycle as well as for the dryer. You can get laundry chips at reception. (Only on request). Toilets and showers are located in the wash house. There is also a washroom for babies/toddlers with a bathtub. Shower tokens are also available at reception. (1€ or 1.50€ each, I'm not quite sure anymore)Shower time is 6 minutes. Very difficult to do with a small child. Water was very cold after about 3 minutes. An absolute no-go for small children. There was also no toilet seat for small children, a parent always has to hold on. Wouldn't mind an option at least for the children to have something available next to the tents or possibly in the tents so that they don't have to walk to the toilet block in the middle of the night. Very little lighting in the tent area, I would like to see more, especially as there is the option of using the privacy screen in the tents. I also think it's a shame that there is no lighting outside the tent itself in the evening. The bench seating in front of the tent is very uncomfortable in the long run, so seat pads would be very valuable and 1-2 deckchairs would be great. Furthermore, I think it would be very good if there was a first aid kit in every accommodation, especially if there are children with you. It's easy for minor injuries to occur that need to be treated without having to run to the lifeguard for a plaster. The first-aid bags would also have to be regularly tested for stock and function. I find it very questionable to open 3 first-aid bags for one plaster. A small shower in front of the tent would be an option, especially for the tents, to at least remove the sand from your feet when you come in from the lake. The tent has 2 radiant heaters in the front area and in the sleeping area. You need a remote control to set the temperature, which you can get at reception for a €10 deposit. The barbecue grill (grill available) is also available at the kiosk for a €10 deposit. Regarding the kiosk, I think it's a shame that, for example, cocktails are advertised and then no longer available for sale. I also find the one-sided beer offer very sad for a campsite operator. This is precisely how you generate customers and profit. The food on offer at the kiosk is fine for a campsite. As I said, these are small things that can be changed without a great deal of effort. I know that it is a campsite and I am fully aware of what it means to camp. Nevertheless, it would be nice to see an improvement on the next visit and that the suggestions of the tourists are taken into account.
