On the way there, you can buy eggs from a local farmer, and there are wonderful hiking opportunities in the surrounding area. The Saalachter Card is useful for all transport... and provides free access to the cable cars. The only downside to the stay is the really poor and constantly cutting out Wi-Fi, and the two ladies at reception, who are as pedantic as tax office clerks and even dictate what name to put on the bill, because they know what’s right.Niciun turist nu a considerat utilă această evaluare. The campsites are nice and spacious, and some offer truly fantastic views.
We especially liked the guest card. It gives you access to numerous services and discounts in the area—from free bus rides to swimming pools and mountain railways/gondolas,... all the way to free admission to caves and other attractions. This is a huge plus, especially for a family vacation.
The restroom facilities were also excellent. The individual bathrooms are very spacious and practical—like your own little bathroom with a sink, toilet, shower, and plenty of room to get changed. Plus, everything was very clean and well-maintained.
Another highlight is the direct access to the river. When the weather is nice, you can even use it for swimming or cooling off—it’s really lovely.
The reception staff were also friendly and helpful, and we really liked the on-site restaurant as well.
There is one minor criticism, however, regarding electricity: Unfortunately, only 5 kWh are included per day. Any usage above that is charged at €0.90 per kWh. We find this a bit of a shame given the otherwise excellent facilities, and it detracts slightly from the overall impression.

And the staff is so friendly!MinusuriCheck the drainpipes regularly—some of them aren't draining properly. And there was a smell of sewage in some of the washrooms. The cleaning crew should use different cleaning rags whenever possible. A green one for sinks, a blue one for toilets, etc. Not just one for everything!! That’s disgusting. The location is incredible – surrounded by beautiful mountains, with a river running right next to the campsite. Everything felt peaceful, green and perfectly maintained.
The facilities were exceptionally... clean and comfortable, the pitches were spacious, and the campsite was perfect for families with children. Our kids had plenty of space to play and enjoy themselves, while we could actually relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole campsite had such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

We were assigned a spot in the quiet area. Luckily, we were able to move to a spot in the dog-friendly area :)Our Take on the VacationThe Grubhof Campground is beautifully situated. The countless hiking trails are sure to set any hiker’s heart racing. In the Almenwelt Lofer, you can relax and enjoy the magnificent view of the mountains. The transportation connections are also excellent. You can head out toward Zell am See or Salzburg... every hour, and thanks to the Saalachtal Card, public transportation and the Lofer mountain railways are free. Only our dog needed a paid ticket. The reception desk has new staff! They’re friendly and accommodating! Mareike and Eileen are a blast! De optie van 2e toiletgebouw is iets beter, ook niet de luxe variant van de filmpjes, daar mag je alleen in met een pasje.
Geen duidelijkheid in xxl veld of gewoon veld. Geen animatie/team gezien

What a beautiful spot! The Grubhof campground, the Saalach right outside our door, and the stunning surroundings around St. Martin and Lofer truly captivated us.
We biked to Pillersee, rode along the Saalach,... explored the Vorderkaserklamm gorge, visited Fort Kniepass, went swimming in Lofer and Unken, and discovered many nooks and crannies—big and small—throughout the region. And the days we simply stayed at the campground were just as wonderful. It was exactly this mix that made our vacation so special.

It was nice to be able to use the Saalachtalcard.MinusuriWe were on the tent field and felt we paid far too much for what we got in return. There was no water point at the tent, we mainly looked out at all the cars parked by the tents, and the tents were very close together. The sanitary facilities on the other fields were super deluxe (even a bit over the top), but on the tent field they were substandard. There was too little cleaning and far too little capacity for the people who were there. Upon arrival, it turned out that we had to pay extra for electricity. All in all, a lot of money for a camping pitch that did not meet the conditions!Had a very nice holiday, but with quite a few downsides.We had a wonderful holiday at Camping Grubhof and I would recommend it to others as well, because of the surroundings and the location of the campsite.
