Location, sauna, restrooms, the entire Grubhof team, gym, restaurant, the tranquility

No treadmill at the gym

The beautiful scenery, the clean and modern washrooms, the mini-market, the very friendly staff, and our great camping cabin!

For late sleepers, the convenience store should stay open a little longer, but it was fine as it was 🤗

The wellness area is one-of-a-kind!

No downsides—everything's perfect!

Goed georganiseerde camping, mooie en grote sanitaire blokken, zeer mooi gelegen naast de rivier, op wandelafstand van supermarkt, centrum Lofer en lift naar Almenwelt Lofer.

Camping is redelijk duur.

High quality ! Comfortable bathrooms (XXL), clean comfort rooms, laundry, bikes, shop, restaurant, green area, books, .... river, very clean and well equipped.

Absolutly can not find anything which could be better.

Pretty much everything. The shop, the lounge, the sauna— what’s there to improve here? Everything is spotless and heated, plus it’s quiet and spacious. Plenty of room and enough space between people. So I’d definitely recommend it anytime!

Time flies by so quickly here.

What we've always loved: the location, the peace and quiet, and the opportunities for day trips.

Check-out. I mean, if a lady like that had been sitting at check-in, we wouldn't have come back. Too bad. This was our fourth time at the Grubhof, and everything has always been great.

Friendliness of the small staff

Reservation system. People who don’t speak German. A massive construction site where the noise starts as early as 7:10 a.m. The showers are dirty, and the shelf in the shower is rusty. Children are playing with remote-controlled electric cars in the quiet zone.I wonder why I should book a quiet zone if no one cares—or if guests aren’t clearly told what’s allowed and what isn’t. We’ve been regular guests for 25 years. We won’t be coming back. That’s the problem when profit takes precedence over service. It’s a real shame about this beautiful place.

Spacious campsites, excellent restroom facilities, sauna included, cleanliness and peace and quiet!

Before Falkensteiner took over, the staff was friendlier and more genuine...

The large lawns between the courts. The sauna. The view while doing the dishes. The nearby hiking and biking trails

Nothing

The location is great 😊—there are things to do in every direction, whether by bike or on foot.

In fact, we haven't found any drawbacks.

Cleanliness, spacious lots, excellent restroom facilities, beautiful location, breathtaking view

The vacation was too short

Tolle Lage, viele und komfortable Sanitäranlagen, toller Wellnessbereich, viele Möglichkeiten zum Wandern & Mountainbiken

Mir fällt nichts ein…

Everything was great

This peace and quiet :)

Location of the campground, amenities, short distances, and the friendly, easy-to-deal-with staff at the campground

Services such as the sauna are now included, even if they are not used.

Super friendly staff (they even called when we arrived later than planned to ask if everything was okay) Very clean Nice restrooms Beautifully situated by the river Dogs allowed Surrounded by mountains (with hiking and biking trails) Easy to reschedule for longer or shorter stays Very delicious food and friendly service at the restaurant

Breakfast ended very early (9:30 a.m.)—not exactly ideal for sleeping in :)

It's always nice to come home.

I can't think of anything right now.

Overall, there are many things, e.g., the size of the campsite, electricity and water hookups. Sanitary building 1: Great layout, spacious—just the cleanliness

The restrooms were not very clean, which was not what we were used to from previous stays. Quiet Zone The rule regarding XXL sites—no dogs or children—was either changed or not enforced.

Die Umgebung und der große Platz

Der Kiosk hat keine Auswahl

This is a wonderfully designed campground.

Nothing.

A beautifully landscaped campground

That you have to stand in a certain direction and set it up. That use of the sauna isn't included—or rather, I think 13 euros per person is a bit expensive.

The location is a dream

There's nothing more to say about that

Campground Location Facilities (campground, restrooms, store, etc.) The staff were friendly (the reception staff and groundskeepers were very helpful)

When it comes to booking and reservations, it's total chaos. No one can tell you exactly which campsites are available. We received a request for a deposit from Camping Zadar???

X

X

Everything. This was our fourth time there, and we’ll definitely be back. The spacious sites with lawns and views are a dream. The washhouses, with their always-clean bathrooms, are excellent. Towels are dried on radiators in a large hallway. Everything is within biking distance. We would have loved to stay there.

There are no downsides

What I really liked were the size of the campsites. The location, the friendliness, and the cleanliness.

Since I was there with a dog, I would have liked to see a dog run. I've seen that at many other campgrounds. Maybe they'll add one someday. There's plenty of space.

The restroom facilities are very clean, though that’s to be expected given the fairly high price. Spacious campsites

There's nothing negative about it

Of course, this beautiful and wonderful campground with its spacious sites. It’s not too crowded, and you have an unobstructed view of the lovely meadow. Plus, the restrooms are in very good condition.

There was a bit of confusion at the front desk this time, but in the end, everything worked out just fine. Unfortunately, the shower card wasn't working reliably, but it was replaced without any issues. Dog owners might need to be reminded again that leashes are required on the grounds. We were there with our own dog, which is why it caught our attention.

The Weather and the Landscape

Dealing with Customers

Location with a beautiful mountain panorama, right on the Saalach River, with hiking and biking trails right outside the door

We didn't like the food at the campground restaurant. The meat wasn't hot, and the baked potato was almost raw.

The location, the restrooms, the restaurant—the staff are always friendly and helpful

Disposal only at the entrance/exit (both trash and sanitary waste)

- Excellent location - Friendly staff - Excellent restroom facilities - The towns of St. Martin and Lofer are just a few minutes' walk away - Excellent public transportation access - Affordable rates at the charging station (€0.40 / kWh)

Excellent restroom facilities, good restaurant, bread roll service

Truck traffic can be heard at night; groceries are only available once you're in town

The surroundings are great Beautiful spots and restrooms

Individual requests are not accommodated High price

Great location by the river

I didn't notice anything

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, a beautiful location, large campsites right on the river, very clean and well-maintained restroom facilities, a restaurant with a good selection, and delicious food

Conventional chemical toilet disposal is available only in the entrance area (next to the trash disposal area and the graywater disposal area). Otherwise, only paid vending machines are available in the restroom area.

Location, Peace, Relaxation

There aren't enough parking spaces for dog owners.

Friendliness,the pitch, beautiful surroundings

Wifi

A campground in an incredibly great location with outstanding restroom facilities.

One drawback is the rather poor Wi-Fi coverage and the long walk to the chemical toilet disposal station if you don't want to use the Camperclean.

The seating was great as always, even though we didn't get the seats we'd reserved.

We come every year, but this was our last time. We called to ask if there was a dog-friendly spot available, and we were assured there was. When we arrived, they claimed everything was booked, and we had to go to the tent field. We had to pay in advance, which really surprised us, but we were assured that if we left early, we’d get a refund for the overpayment. Since we weren’t satisfied with the tent field, we wanted to leave the next day, but were only reimbursed for 2 of the 4 days we’d booked; the dog fee and visitor’s tax weren’t refunded at all. When I realized this, I went to the front desk and asked what was going on. I emphasized that we had been assured we’d get our money back and that I’d be happy to let my lawyer handle it—we discussed it for about half an hour in the back room. Then I received a smooth refund of the overpayment, including the dog fee and tourist tax. This is now the second time in a row that we’ve had problems. The first time, they claimed no deposit had been received—even though we showed them proof in writing—so we had to pay the full amount, and after multiple inquiries (in writing), we finally got our money back after six weeks. Now we’ve had enough of Camping Grubhof.

Friendly, welcoming team Generous, level pitches Greatest Sanitaries Cosy Restaurant Good gym Great views and handy location

That we only booked 5 nights

Very spacious sites in beautiful surroundings

Didn't find anything

It's a great campground with a beautiful view and 5-star restroom facilities.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about

Spacious sites in the "Quiet Area" Great location and a first-rate panoramic view Very nice restroom facilities

The chemical toilet could only be emptied at the entrance, which was very far away. I'm not a fan of emptying it into the automatic cleaning stations.

- The friendliness of the staff and the campers - The campsites (quality over quantity) - The cleanliness of the entire campground - The location

Nothing

Service, Cleanliness, Amenities

…

Brilliant layout, restroom facilities with a family bathroom, very clean and quiet campground

Strong Drain Odor in Men's Showers (Bathhouse by the Bridge)

Sanitärgebäude sind perfekt, Ruhe, schöne Landschaft

Müllentsorgung nur an der Einfahrt möglich und der Raum müsste besser belüftet werden- es stank sehr stark

Very friendly.

It was already cold at night, so we turned on the heat 😂😉 The food wasn't that great.

Starting Point Cleanliness and Amenities of the Facility Wellness: Top, Top, Top

Unfortunately, really poor communication The front desk knows nothing about the online booking The process was bumpy No information that the camping cabins are empty— no dishes, no bedding... NOTHING!! Basically not a problem, as long as it’s communicated, but it wasn’t noted anywhere—neither online on the platform nor in the booking confirmation !!! This needs to be clearly pointed out. When you arrive on Sunday, you’re left looking pretty foolish 😤 Otherwise, everything was great

There was plenty of space on the campground, and the restrooms and showers are new and spacious enough. The restaurant is good, though more vegetarian options would be nice.

Reservations are always for 2 people, which means that even as a single person, you still pay for 2. The woman at the front desk wasn’t friendly. There are no trees on the campground, so there’s no shade, and the mowed grass was left on the ground, which meant it ended up all over the cars and tents. The drying room for wetsuits is great—the hanging rods are heated—but the humid air needs to be vented; otherwise, nothing will dry anyway.

The location is great for activities. Whether at the campground or in the surrounding area. Good bus service. Spacious sites.

A little expensive

All in all, a very nice campground, right in the heart of the action. Great access to hiking, biking, or just a short walk.

Not known to us

The warm welcome The huge campground The restroom facilities The view of the Salach River and the mountains All in all, a wonderful vacation

I haven't had any negative experiences

Great location

We were supposed to read the electricity meter at the parking spot, but we couldn't. The meter is in the utility room.

Excellent location, great starting point for hikes and mountain bike tours, ideal campground for dogs, very clean restrooms, mountain railway nearby

None

- Spacious pitches, each with its own large green area - Very beautiful and well-maintained sanitary facilities - Beautiful surroundings - Stunning mountain views - Fresh bread delivery service and a restaurant on site

- The campsite is quite expensive. We paid €68 per night for two people and one dog. - We had paid a 40% deposit in advance by credit card. At check-out, we were told that the deposit had not been paid. After we showed the receptionist our bank statements as proof of payment, the issue was resolved. However, we did not receive an apology and the receptionist was not very friendly or helpful.

Very quiet during the off-season. Only about 10 spots were occupied on the entire campground. Right next to Saalbach—a very nice campground

Odor - Telephone Consultation

Location and Layout of the Site Cleanliness of the Restroom Facilities

Insufficient restroom facilities Minishop partially sold out

State of the Art wash rooms; lovely helpful staff in reception; Green open spaces everywhere on the site; cycle paths direct from the site; generally a beautiful site

Nothing to complain about.

A gorgeous location and a lovely spot

We had a wonderful week and really have nothing negative to say. The location, the food—everything was truly top-notch. We'd love to come back.

Nothing to complain about

The campground on the banks of the Saalach is beautiful, with many attractions nearby.

A clean and beautifully situated resort in a stunning setting, with friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere

-The restroom in the men's area had an unpleasant odor -The access roads could be wider -The Wi-Fi connection... didn't work at all -Hidden/unjustified charges

Spacious campsite, clean and comfortable washhouse, guided hikes. Friendly staff and a very good restaurant.

We were completely satisfied.

It was the ideal starting point for hiking trips and adventure excursions.

The kitchen needs to be modernized. The refrigerator is too small for 9 people. The stove and cooktop should be updated (it takes a very long time to heat up pots and pans). Also, 8 forks for up to 10 people is a bit too few ;-)

Very nice campsites, especially mine by the river. Great restroom facilities. Friendly staff and excellent dining options. I've already booked for next year.

I didn't like that some of the pools were rented out. There were sometimes long wait times.

Overall, a very nicely designed campground. There was usually plenty of space between us and our neighbors on the right and left. We liked the lakeside sites in the quiet zone on the far right best. The S1 restroom facility we used was very well designed and equipped. It was wonderful to be able to shower as often and for as long as we wanted in the lovely private bathrooms. Wi-Fi was free—great!

I didn't like that you can't reserve a parking spot. Not even a year in advance. The woman at the front desk whom I asked could obviously see in the system that a specific parking spot had been reserved for the same month next year. But she told me that I couldn’t reserve that one for myself. That seems illogical to me, but it’s a major drawback for me—for us—because we don’t want any surprises for this high price. There’s only one spot for manually emptying the toilet cassette near the front desk. It always stank, and there was always water on the floor that you had to wade through. The trash disposal area was disgusting. It was a closed room where the smell made me feel very nauseous. If the room were well-ventilated, it would be okay. Wi-Fi was free, but the connection speed was often very slow or even cut out.

The campsites along the Saalach were a dream. The restroom facilities, too, are state-of-the-art— not only modern but also very clean. Kudos.

The staff at check-out were in a very bad mood. The layout of the large campsites needs improvement, since there were always people—let’s say about 15 of them— in our spot, and also the kiosk was very small. As for the food, well, it was just too expensive. They had the nerve to complain to us about whether the spot belonged to us—excuse me, but we paid for it. We paid for the spot and wanted to use it. (How are we supposed not to make a fuss?) 😏

We spent a week at the Grubhof Campground. We really enjoyed it—it was very clean, the area was great, and the food was good.

I didn't have any TV reception. Unfortunately, you can't book the specific campsite—only the category.

Quiet

Price too high Years ago, it was cleaner and more affordable

Everything was great except for the food; the staff was super friendly.

Dining

The location: between the Watzmann and the Wilder Kaiser—everything is within easy reach / The view: even from the bathroom, you can see the mountains all around / The restrooms: we’ve never had such a great bathroom before / The staff: very friendly / The campsites: nice and spacious, right next to a green meadow

The campsites weren’t suitable for standard anchors (tent stakes, screws)—maybe mention this in the future / The entrances and exits to the respective “roads” are so narrow that we were only able to leave with our 14-meter trailer by sheer luck (the friendly camper in question was already up and able to move his car out of the way) / some campers don’t realize that you have to lock the bathroom so the green light doesn’t stay on

Great campsites and the best restroom facilities we've ever had.

None! ! ! !

Spacious layout with a large green area Electricity and water hookups available at each site Well-maintained overall appearance Guest card offers free public transportation and other discounts

Convenience Store: Very Limited Selection

location nice backstage very close to the river the professional gentlemen from the camp management

non-functional wifi not optimistic personnel at the reception

Restrooms; Site size; Amenities; Surroundings

Only 5 kWh of electricity per day; anything beyond that is subject to an additional charge.

The location—1A. Waschhaus 1—is beautifully designed. And the staff is so friendly!

Check the drainpipes regularly—some of them aren't draining properly. And there was a smell of sewage in some of the washrooms. The cleaning crew should use different cleaning rags whenever possible. A green one for sinks, a blue one for toilets, etc. Not just one for everything!! That’s disgusting. I’ve noticed this.

Mountains  River Space Kids activities

Food options Lack of shops There was no place to purchase water

A really great, well-located campground!

Unfortunately, when we made our reservation and were assigned a spot, they didn't take into account that we had booked with our dog. We were assigned a spot in the quiet area. Luckily, we were able to move to a spot in the dog-friendly area :)

We’ve been coming to this campground for 30 years now! We were warmly welcomed and well taken care of! As always, it was a pleasure for us to be here. The reception desk has new staff! They’re friendly and accommodating! Mareike and Eileen are a blast! We’ll be back!

Our tent neighbors (mostly Dutch) look at us critically because there are so many of us! And we have a big tent with us. But we’re peaceful— we’re happy when people stop by and sometimes even have a beer with us!
