Positive ting
The campground is great. The paths are wide and all paved. The pool is nice and clean, and there are lounge chairs. The fact that the gondola ride is free with the guest card is a fantastic deal.
Negative ting
It's a hassle that you always have to bring your card with you to the restroom. Since we hadn’t reserved a table for two at the restaurant, the owner personally turned us away even though it wasn’t particularly busy :-( There are no “dog waste bag dispensers with trash bags” set up anywhere, and I expect that when I’m paying for a dog per night.
Unfriendly treatment of guests
Since the ÖCC isn't accepted until Oct. 1, I find that strange, and so I won't be booking this place again anytime soon.

A top-notch camping resort!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A first-class camping resort!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hinterstoder Camping Resort. We were particularly impressed by the stunning location, the well-maintained restrooms, the spacious campsites, and the magnificent view of the mountains.

Special praise goes to the owner, the owner’s wife,... and the entire team. Everyone is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. The personalized service and warm hospitality create a pleasant atmosphere where you immediately feel welcome and well taken care of.

The restaurant and the beautiful surroundings also made our stay even more enjoyable.

A definite 5-star recommendation! We’d love to come back. ❤️

Positive ting
It's a nice place, but it has nothing to do with camp. It's just that the nature and the city are nice :)
Negative ting
There really isn't any shade there. There are no benches or places to sit if you're in a tent.
Mixed feelings
We were pretty disappointed with our stay. We were charged an extra 30€ (which isn't terrible, but it's not great either) for our child born in October 2023, even though the reservation clearly stated that he stayed for free (under 3). The staff claimed it’s an “internal rule” to use the birth year instead... of the exact date—which isn’t written anywhere or mentioned anywhere—and that both the reservation system on camping.info and their own official website are wrong—even though you enter the date of birth on both sites. We’ll be coming back to the area, but definitely not to this campsite.

The large pool and the kids’ pool were nice, but you have to “hunt” down a server just to get something to drink or eat. If you go inside to order, they tell you to leave and go outside.

The camp isn’t really suitable for families with children under 6 for more than one night. There’s nowhere to sit in the shade; everything is new and the trees are still growing, so there will be shade in a few years, but not yet.

On top of that, people are what they are—pissing in the showers—and having the showers in the same room as six toilets is disgusting. The warm water, warm air, and toilets make it smell like shit all day.

You're surrounded by mountains, so the views are breathtaking no matter which site you're on. The sites are very spacious and well laid out. The building housing the reception desk and the restaurant is visually very appealing. The mini-market has everything you could want.
Negative ting
Unkempt grounds, unfriendly staff—especially toward children, Not a place to relax and unwind, just to enjoy the view
Prime Location with the Wrong Management
Families aren't welcome here.
No ball games allowed, no splashing around in the pool.
When the weather is bad, there are no indoor seating areas where children are welcome.
The pool closes at 7 p.m....no matter what the weather is like. On closing days, it even closes at 6 p.m.

The playground is... only for kids up to 3 years old. Other than that, there isn’t even a bench where you can sit together.
The rental bath has a “factory charm,” and the floor hadn’t even been cleaned when we arrived.

We’ve also never seen grass this tall at a campsite.
Since the management spends the whole day patting themselves on the back and scolding kids, maintenance unfortunately takes a back seat.

The chemical toilet is emptied into a hole in the ground.
Right between the campsites. Smell included.

With a little understanding from guests or some passion, this place could be a hit.

Sleeping barrel is unsuitable for winter use. Only recommended with additional heating (electric fan heater). I personally find the 92 - 122 euros per night clearly excessive.
!Sleeping barrel not suitable for winter!
2 nights in a sleeping barrel, not reasonable in winter. Please bring your own additional heating.
I was assured on the phone and on site that the built-in infrared panels were sufficient.

The sleeping area is not heated by the heating.

A great pity, as I think it's a very nice idea.

A jewel in the mountains
On the way back from Croatia, we wanted to do a bit of hiking and were looking for a campsite in the mountains. Due to the good reviews, we booked spontaneously and arrived straight away during the lunch break. Although the campsite was actually closed, we were warmly welcomed and were given a great... pitch by the manager. As we have a slightly larger motorhome, this campsite is brilliant for us, great large pitches with gravel, with water/grey water/black water and electricity. The view of the mountains is sensational, you are right in the middle of it and can go hiking, cycling or use the bus stop right in front of the campsite to take the free mountain railroad. This is all included in the guest card.... Amazing !!! The operators are incredibly nice, as a camper you can also use the hotel pool, which we happily did and although it was a day off, the boss made us Aperol. You really feel at home here. The shower house is extremely clean and spacious, especially the showers. There are washing machines and you can even use the dishwasher for a small fee. You can order bread rolls in the morning. I'm sure others will have something to complain about here, but for us and our needs the campsite is just perfect. We would love to come back, not only as campers but also as hotel guests

Beautiful location, large building for showers, dishwashing (dishwasher also available for an extra charge, washing machines, even indoor washing facilities for the dog. Very friendly staff. Everything was very clean. Sufficiently large pitch (roof tent with awning). When the hedges and trees have grown, great privacy and shade. We will definitely be back
Negative ting
No shady spots yet, as the site is still brand new, but there are trees and hedges planted everywhere. When this has grown, it will certainly be great.
Beautiful location
Beautifully situated campsite, with a large laundry building. Everything is also available for dogs. Several water connections directly on the pitch at different heights, as well as electricity, so you don't need long cables. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and the welcome at reception was also friendly and courteous. We will definitely be back

Great stay in Hinterstoder
We had an all-round fantastic stay at this campsite! Everything is very modern and still new, the sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. The surrounding area is beautiful and invites you to go for walks and explore. We would particularly like to emphasize the extremely friendly operators,... who always have an open ear and make your stay really pleasant. As the campsite has only been open for a few weeks, there is certainly room for improvement, but this is not a major issue.

The restaurant deserves extra praise - the food is excellent and prepared with a lot of love. For a little refreshment in between, there is a small but lovely pool, which is perfect for cooling off on warm days.

We can highly recommend this campsite and will be happy to return.

Flat, spacious pitches, access roads also ideal for larger motorhomes; well-kept sanitary facilities, 12 indoor dishwashing areas, even 2 Miele dishwashers are available; private bathrooms can be rented; beautiful swimming pool, fine restaurant;
Negative ting
perhaps "a little" too many dogs :-)
Camping at its best
Nestled in the beautiful Stodertal valley, we spent 4 quiet and relaxing days at Camping Resort Hinterstoder.
We felt very welcome.

Positive ting
Location, quiet, pitches super large and flat
Negative ting
Doors in the sanitary belong automatically, 1 soap dispenser for 6 washbasins is too little, in the enormously large shower cubicles hooks for hanging things are missing, unfortunately no hair dryer in the sanitary area, the taps are very short, removal of toilet paper very tedious, garbage collection area is visually not nice and was so crowded at the weekend that it looks rather messy Water connections on the pitch are too far down and everything is very overgrown with weeds
Evaluation of our stay
It was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. The location, the pitches and the peace and quiet are perfect. But for perfection to a 5 star campsite we would have suggested a few important improvements.
The doors in the sanitary facilities should definitely be automatic.
The taps are far too short....
The removal of toilet paper is tedious.
Unfortunately, the soap dispenser was often empty. Perhaps too little available.
More coat hooks would be necessary in the showers.
There are no hairdryers in the ladies showers.

Access to the water supply at the pitch is difficult due to the weeds and the fact that the taps are mounted very low.
You couldn't even fill a water canister.

The garbage containers were also overflowing for 3 days. (Not an extended weekend).

We would appreciate it very much if you take the criticism.
See you again soon Habla Bettina & Michael

Positive ting
Fantastic location with many beautiful hiking trails directly from the campsite, modern and basically beautiful facilities, service staff very helpful and friendly despite being overloaded
Negative ting
Pool area too small, dirty and rarely cleaned sanitary facilities, overfilled garbage containers, management unfriendly and disrespectful towards guests, not very family-friendly
Dream location - unfriendly management destroys the overall impression
The location is really fantastic - many beautiful hiking trails start directly from the site and the facility is basically new and visually appealing. The service staff were always friendly, helpful and hard-working despite being overworked and short-staffed - a big compliment to the employees!

The... pool is too small for the number of guests and there are not enough sun loungers. Although there is a baby/children's pool, it is completely in the blazing sun and therefore unusable. The playground is very small and only suitable for very small children, there are no sports facilities such as a volleyball court or similar. The sanitary facilities were dirty and were cleaned far too rarely, garbage containers were overflowing and garbage was lying next to them. There is only one tiny changing table in the entire sanitary area. At breakfast, the coffee machine was broken and the pastries ran out quickly. The manager responded to justified complaints in a snotty and condescending manner instead of offering solutions.

The reason why we will definitely not be returning: The managers themselves. Guests were neither greeted in a friendly manner nor bid farewell - instead, we were repeatedly approached in a rude, disrespectful and sometimes condescending tone.

Friendliness and customer orientation are obviously a foreign concept here - and that's exactly what drives guests away. Too bad about the beautiful place, but this is no way to treat a paying guest.

The location is beautiful, the complex is great because it's not too big, and there's something for everyone! The service staff were extremely friendly!
Negative ting
There were some shortcomings or mishaps (cleanliness in the sanitary facilities, lack of replenishment at breakfast,...), to which the management unfortunately did not respond adequately (with a friendly apology). Hospitality looks different.
Beautiful location with a few flaws
We spent 3 very nice days with our relatives (23 people), but the stay was unfortunately marred by the poor organization and friendliness

Simply fantastic!
Camping Hinterstoder really impressed us !!!
Everything is just right here.
The site is exceptionally well maintained, everything is new, high quality and designed with great attention to detail.
You notice immediately: this is not a campsite "like any other".

The pitches are spacious, the sanitary... facilities are modern and extremely clean. The pool with a view of the mountains is a real highlight - quiet, refreshing and simply beautifully situated.

However, the atmosphere deserves special mention. The campsite is run by the owners themselves - and you can feel this at every moment. The couple are always present, open, welcoming, take the time to talk to you and even look after things themselves. Everything feels personal, but never intrusive.

They even ask if everything is okay when serving bread rolls - small gestures that make a big difference.

The food completely surprised us: fresh, delicious and always to the point. Pizza, pasta, salads, desserts ... everything!
Plus a team that exudes good humor and is so helpful.

Conclusion: This place really can't be compared with any other. New, exceptionally well thought out, with genuine hospitality and great service.

We felt completely at ease from the very first moment - and will definitely be back.
Thank you for this great stay!
