Beat S.jūnijs 2026Camping with BarriersBecause of the “Rock im Park” events, it was a bit difficult to find our way to and from the campground. There were no detour signs. The “Rock im Park” staff were completely unfamiliar with the area.
There was no information whatsoever on the campground’s website about the upcoming major event. We find that disappointing, unfortunately.

We were greeted warmly and everything went very smoothly. We were assigned a spot and drove through a half-empty campground. Spot number 60 was almost at the very back under some trees, and the access... road was extremely narrow. Under the trees, no grass, no pavers—just dirt and dry leaves. Awful for a Knaus spot. At the reception desk, we were told that they were completely booked—Rock im Park—and there was no way to get another spot. They complained to us about how difficult it was to assign all the spots. Not even for one night. After she finished her cigarette, the lady at the front desk generously refunded me for two days. In the morning, there were still plenty of empty spots. It rained overnight, and in the morning the site was like a motocross track. The restrooms are old but in decent condition. The restaurant has good food and friendly service. It’s a shame for such a big city to have a place like this, especially with the prestigious name KNAUS. We won’t be coming back here. But that won’t bother the campground management. Unfortunately, the pitch we booked well in advance was double booked. We wanted to stand right next to the Albatros accommodation as friends were staying there.
A clear access road must be kept free for pitches 59-62. The entrance was... blocked and you had to make arrangements with other campers for entry/exit.
Called the emergency number in the evening. Nobody answered and there was no call back.
We didn't think the price was very reasonable. We've had nicer pitches for this price. On the second day, I connected my hybrid car to the power supply (consumption 2000 watts, so less than a heater!), the plug was simply ripped out and a note attached to the car stating that charging electric cars is prohibited. - Martina Z.maijs 2026City and fairground parking spaceFor me, it was the perfect starting point for visiting the trade fair. Just a few steps and you're at the east entrance.
The reception was friendly, relaxed and I was able to arrange a late departure without any problems.
The site is also in a great location for dog owners - you're right in the park... for a walk.
The sanitary facilities are functional and above all clean (unless a "nice" fellow camper messes them up shortly beforehand).
It is also practical that you can eat typical Franconian food well and cheaply directly at the site.
The only thing you should perhaps reconsider is the €5 for the dog. That's a lot for the fact that apart from a few poop bags (but no waste garbage can for them) and a treat bag, nothing is offered for dogs.

After I told reception that I had a severe disability, I was immediately offered a key for the disabled bathroom. I found this very nice. The pitch itself was under the trees and very muddy when it rained.
The sockets were not protected, all the protective caps were torn off on the ground, even discarded slippers were lying under the trees. The Irish campers (assembly workers) in the 9 caravans were also annoying. They were loud and left the sanitary facilities very unclean. The CP is surrounded by trees. 900m away is the soccer stadium and 15 min walk to the S-Bahn, great connections in all directions.
