Arrival out of season was well organized: although the reception was closed, we were greeted by a note with our name and pitch number.
The pitch was large enough and had electricity, water and drainage.
Terraced... site with steep access to the pitches.
We tried the restaurant on site - SUPER!
There's a huge playground for children.
Sanitary facilities very clean and very well equipped.
Very friendly staff!
It's only about 10-15 minutes from the highway to the site.
As we were there out of season, the site was about 20% full. When driving out we had to cut some pitches because the paths are narrow. We had everything we wanted. Skis and boots well stored, good access to the ski area, great showers, easy to go out for dinner in the evening and a nice place for our camper van.
Everything was well organized with a note on the door, pitch number posted for those arriving outside opening hours. We were already able to settle into our pitch. Super friendly staff who are always ready for a quick chat. We were there with 2 families and were accompanied directly to our pitches. The best set-up and orientation with regard to the sun was briefly explained. Check-in could be... done relaxed after the set-up.
We knew that we had to take the ski bus to the ski area (Hopfgarten). But even that was totally relaxed. The first stop is the Schlossberg, so the bus is empty in the morning.
The wash area is mixed with various individual cabins (shower and washbasin; shower, washbasin and WC; or just wash corners), separate toilet rooms for men and women were clean at all times.

There is a wonderful playground for children. The manager and the staff were very nice, helpful and very accommodating. You felt really well looked after.NeigiamiThe only thing I didn't like were the Ikea shower heads, the water had no pressure behind them, for women with longer hair it was difficult to wash. And what I missed, we had a rental bathroom, e.g. a towel rail for the shower towels. That would be great, something like that is still missing. We didn't really like the food on offer in the restaurant, we would have liked more Austrian cuisine.Vacation September 2024Our vacation was planned for longer, but unfortunately we had to leave due to the weather. The site is beautifully situated. Laid out in terraces with plenty of space for caravans and vehicles. Due to its proximity to the main road, it is an ideal starting point for hikes on foot or by bike.
The sanitary facilities were always found to be clean. The upper bathhouse is very nice, the lower rooms are a bit outdated.

Our personal highlights were Hall, Kelchsautal with Almabtrieb and Fuchswirt, Speicher Schlegeis in Zillertal, Wildschönau with Thalmühle, Breznsuppn and Schönangeralm, Alpbachtal and of course Camping Schlossberg itself with its peaceful atmosphere. You can get everything you need to live in Hopfgarten or Wörgl: both are easy and quick to reach. The playground and the whole complex are in top condition, clean and well maintained. We always felt our children were safe and in good hands. The washroom is a dream, beautiful shower cubicles that are sparkling clean. The friendly staff deserve special mention. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth by a very professional and attentive team,... ready to answer all our questions and make our stay a memorable one.
The facilities are impeccable and well maintained: modern sanitary facilities, spacious showers and play areas for children. Each location is soigneusement délimité, offering thus de l'intimité et une tranquillité précieuse. We particularly appreciated the facilities for camping cars and caravans, which are practical and well thought out.
The activities on offer in the surrounding area are varied and suitable for all ages. Hiking, cycling, winter sports in season, or even exploring the charming villages along the way - there's something to do for everyone. And if we wanted to relax, the heated swimming pool at the campsite was a real source of relaxation. Plus, the proximity to the ski stations is a real plus for skiing enthusiasts!
The atmosphere on the campsite is convivial and the other campers, many of them residents, help to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Finally, the quality/price ratio is excellent. We had the feeling of benefiting from top quality services at a very reasonable price.
In short, Camping Schlossberg Itter is a destination of choice for nature lovers and families looking for comfort and relaxation. You don't necessarily need your own camper.
The nearest town is about half an hour's walk away and there are plenty of places to eat out.
The bus leaves directly... at the entrance to the campsite and goes to the surrounding tourist resorts.
There is also a restaurant on the campsite.
