Ines B.juuli 2026+++ A Night in the Cucumber Barrel +++My husband and I aren’t usually campers; we mostly stay at small, cozy hotels. So we were more than surprised by the quality of this campground. Overall, this applies to the intimate, well-organized grounds surrounded by lush, green trees (the sun was shining the whole time) and well-tended flower beds,... the cleanliness and the well-equipped, separate washrooms in the restroom area, the inviting bistro with food to die for, and the consistently friendly, open-minded, and helpful staff. Note: We stayed here for 2 days via mydays in a wooden “cucumber barrel” (lying horizontally 🤣). Once we got there, everything was very relaxed and the staff was also very friendly. Everything was very clean and well thought out. The only thing I hadn’t seen before was the coin-operated meter for electricity. I’m sure there are better solutions. The restrooms were absolutely... fantastic. Unfortunately, I’ve never seen shower and toilet stalls like these anywhere else. The campground is in a great location, just a few minutes from the ferry terminal and downtown.
The campground is beautifully landscaped and well-maintained, with plenty of clean restroom facilities.... Unlike what some other reviews have mentioned, we had hot water for showers at all times, day and night (except in the container showers).
There’s a restaurant right on the campground, as well as play areas for children.
The only minor downside is that the coin-operated outlets for the expensive electricity supply only accept one-euro coins. I’m sure there’s a more customer-friendly way to handle this.

The sites aren’t clearly marked, but we had plenty of space. A new restroom building is very attractively designed; next to it are some older containers with individual stalls, each containing a toilet, shower, and sink with a power... outlet. The cleanliness of the restroom facilities is satisfactory. The older restroom building is currently being renovated. Overall, the campground is in a very quiet location. Right behind the campground is a boat dock where private paddleboats can easily be launched. The service was great—whether it was changing our reservation or extending our stay, everything was handled in a relaxed and professional manner. The site itself is very clean, and preferences (shade, partial shade, or sun) are taken into account. The restroom facilities... are convenient and clean. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any power to blow-dry my hair. But my camping hairstyle always looks great 😅

It was a bit different—no electricity, just a bed—but it was great. The restrooms were in good condition and mostly clean. A huge shout-out to the young man at the front desk. He was the first one there in the morning and the last one to leave at night.... Always friendly and very helpful. He made everything possible. We had breakfast twice, which was very hearty and delicious. The rolls were still warm. We’ll definitely be back. We still need to decide on the Gurkenfass, but there’s a second, very nice option.
