Volker S.juuli 2026PositiivsedSee reviewNegatiivsedSee reviewFamily CampgroundReception staff were nice and friendly (this shouldn't normally be worth mentioning, but these days it's no longer the norm); large, paved sites, many with artificial turf, The layout of the WM/WW pitches is sometimes odd—sometimes they’re less than a meter apart (you can hear your neighbors snoring,... farting, grumbling, laughing...), other times far apart; hardly any shade; beautiful swimming lake; narrow sunbathing area by the lake; stairs leading down to the lake (into the water) are sometimes very slippery; great wading pool with sulfur water; restaurant with good and affordable options; restrooms shouldn’t just be cleaned superficially (there was a band-aid in the shower for several days and paper in the shelf), many people don’t observe quiet hours and there’s no enforcement, sometimes helicopter noise from next door early in the morning...and then there are the Kevins and Chantalles, where the parents’ parenting has failed (the campground isn’t to blame). School groups whose teachers don’t set boundaries for the children (loud shouting, running across decks, leaving trash behind, breaking off branches, chasing ducks...)

Normally, you’re always supposed to park with your “back to the door.” The space was sufficient, but still very tight.
We had actually planned to go fishing with our grandchildren,... but that wasn’t possible because we didn’t have a fishing license. In my opinion, the website could use much clearer information regarding the fishing license and bringing your own rods! We thought we didn’t need a license and that rods would be provided!
Otherwise, the campground made a well-maintained impression; the restrooms were exemplary—always clean and stocked with soap and toilet paper. The swimming lake was fantastic and provided a nice way to cool off on the hot days. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are also nearby grocery stores for supplies. My rating applies solely to the campground:
The campground is beautifully laid out, the staff at the front desk are very friendly, and the swimming lake is truly pleasant. The restrooms were well-maintained, except for a few cobwebs at the top of the doors. That alone earns... it a well-deserved 4 stars!
Warning about the restaurant: Unfriendly service and inaccurate drink portions. They pour drinks by eye.
Maybe they should get some proper glasses.
We weren’t even tempted to eat there: The salad bar is completely unprotected in the waiting area, so people waiting can brush past it and children can reach in. That’s definitely not what good hygiene looks like. - Diana K.juuli 2026A Nice Short Stay with a Few DrawbacksOur campsite was very nice. Great ground and a beautiful view of the lake. The restrooms were okay, but nothing more. The swimming lake was nice, but since we were just passing through, we can’t say much about it or the other facilities. The rest of the campground (permanent sites) was, for the most... part, rather unkempt and not very attractive. The staff was very friendly. Check-in and check-out were straightforward. We arrived half an hour before the reception desk opened, and everything was locked up. We had to wait in the parking lot with the kids in 38-degree heat, which wasn’t very pleasant.

We received a very warm welcome. Kudos to the front desk staff. They were a huge help when we had problems with our trailer.
Very large campground with a lot of long-term campers. Some of them look terribly old and... run-down. That doesn’t exactly contribute to the camping atmosphere.
The campsites are all arranged in neat rows. Not very idyllic.
On some sites, there are a few “parked” trailers and RVs. People are camping in between them. Very strange? Maybe these spots are cheaper?
There are several bodies of water where you can swim and fish.
The surrounding area is great for biking. The historic town of Bad Wimpfen is also a lovely destination for a bike ride. On Sunday, however, it was dead quiet there. All the shops were closed, and only a few restaurants were open.
We had dinner at “Trattoria Nonno Lucio” in the nearby town of Adler. I highly recommend it! Fantastic service and delicious pizzas.
