It’s great that you also have “private bathrooms.”
One suggestion for improvement from us: the restroom facilities. In the men’s restroom, no one is allowed... to leave the toilet while the urinal is in use. Likewise, the stalls in the women’s restroom are a bit on the narrow side.

The campsite was nice, the staff was friendly, and despite the renovation of one of the restroom buildings, the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The sites are large and well separated by hedges.
Unfortunately, our locked and secured e-bikes were stolen right from our campsite.
Because of an UNLOCKED gate leading to the adjacent field, anyone can enter
and leave the site unnoticed. The police told us that, unfortunately, this theft is not an isolated incident.
We were offered a refund for one night’s stay, but we haven’t received it yet.

Unfortunately, the front desk is closed from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and check-in isn't possible until 3:00 p.m.Arrived and Feeling Right at HomeFirst off, contrary to many reviews, the woman at the front desk was very friendly to us. The same goes for her colleague. I guess what goes around comes around. They were able to answer all our questions.
Since we felt so at home there, we rented a seasonal site starting March 1, 2027.
The bistro is run by two ladies, and the food is simply great.

You almost feel like you have to be grateful to the lady at the front desk just for being allowed to stay here at all. In all the years I’ve been coming here, I’ve never experienced genuine, courteous... friendliness.
It’s a shame—I always feel like I’ve done something wrong. That’s why I’m not giving it full marks. Friendly staff is very important to me, and I can overlook many other shortcomings because of that.

The campground is very well laid out in terms of the arrangement of the campsites. Several campsites are separated from one another by well-maintained hedges. The electricity, water, and Wi-Fi service are excellent.... The washrooms are cleaned daily and there are plenty of them. Even during busy times (long weekends, Pentecost), the available facilities were sufficient. It’s also nice that the dishwashing area is in an enclosed, well-lit room, so you’re not standing in the dark. The fly screens on the windows keep pests out. There are no spiderwebs in the respective rooms. The shower pressure could be a bit stronger, but the temperature is easy to adjust. The surroundings are, of course, a dream and ideal for water sports enthusiasts, hikers, cyclists, and those seeking peace and quiet. A bread roll delivery service is available, and requests regarding campsites and late check-outs are accommodated; even rescheduling went smoothly. Emails are also answered. I’d also like to mention that everything is included in the price (Wi-Fi, showers, electricity, water, trash, etc.), and the county seat of Eschwege is within walking distance. Lake Werratal is right next door and freely accessible at no extra cost. Of course, dogs must be kept on a leash; they’re not allowed on the playground or in the beach and swimming areas, but there are plenty of spots by the lake where your dog can cool off its paws.
