"A warm, family-friendly, and very thoughtfully designed retreat :) - I attended the Solo Travelers Camp with my two children, and we felt very comfortable at the campsite—thanks to the very kind hosts and the facilities (which are truly high-quality, functional, and exude a cozy atmosphere)! My boys and I really enjoyed the on-site program (for this special camp)—everything was very close to nature, from the forest excursion with a snack break, to making a tree-slice game or crafting stick figures... to the group barbecue or crêpe nights, the campfire evenings with marshmallows, and the impromptu pizza order... Since the boys felt most at home with the other kids at the campsite, and our time was limited, we used the time more as a break and, for once, skipped the nearby attractions (like the Saalfelder Feengrotte). It was simply wonderful for unwinding. There’s also a sauna....

"Short Getaway Offer for Solo Travelers and Single Parents - Great campground—not just a run-of-the-mill place, but one that really catered to our individual needs. "Great Campground - We had a wonderful stay at the campground. The restroom facilities were really top-notch—clean, modern, and very well-maintained. We also really liked the overall amenities and atmosphere. The only minor criticism was the tent field: it was a bit rocky and uneven, so we had to clear away a few rocks first to find a suitable spot for our tent. Otherwise, though, it’s a really nice place that we’d gladly recommend!

"Motorcycle and Hiking Vacation (RV with Motorcycle Trailer) - Hello, I stayed at the Lenkgrund Nature Camp in the Thuringian Forest—which opened a year ago and has 17 campsites (a former swimming pool)—from June 28 to July 8, 2026 (one week plus a three-day extension). The Naturcamp is in very good condition (NEW). The building houses the restrooms (toilets, urinals, showers, and a sauna), a farm stand, and a common room with a fully equipped kitchen that guests are free to use to their heart’s content. I stayed there with my RV and a motorcycle trailer (motorcycle and hiking vacation). You make the reservation online. I then arranged the 3-day extension on-site (the owner, Claudia Weidner, extended my stay without any issues, and I didn’t have to move from my campsite). Thanks again for that 🤗. Check-in on-site is also done online. For the entire duration of your stay, you receive the Thuringia Card, which grants you free or discounted admission at many venues. Brochures are available in the common room. You can also set out on hikes directly from the nature camp (Bunker Museum, Schönbrunn Dam, etc.). Shopping is possible in Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig, 6 km away. Unfortunately, the nearest gas station isn’t exactly around the corner, so all motorcyclists should fill up along the way—which isn’t a problem once you know where to go 😉. I really enjoyed it because the Naturcamp is located outside of town (about a 400-meter walk from the village of Frauenwald) and you can enjoy the peace and quiet. The road right in front of the Naturcamp isn’t very busy at night. I’ll definitely go back there for another vacation and can 100% recommend the nature camp.

"Small and powerful - The campsite is easy to find. The welcome is nice and there are no lectures about the house rules. The common room is practical and the kitchen is well equipped. A pleasant place to have a chat.
