Hallo, wij zijn de familie Knorren! Wij (Martine, Bert, Roland en Dèbra) hebben een minicamping in Smilde. Dit dorp is 17 km lang, maar heel smal en het ligt aan de Drentse Hoofdvaart. De naam heeft de camping te danken …aan de Wolvenberg. De "berg" is een overblijfsel uit de ijstijd, die gedeeltelijk over de camping loopt. Vroeger was de boerderij in gebruik als melkveehouderij. Het bedrijf had toen ongeveer 30 melkkoeien en ongeveer 20 stuks jongvee. In 1996 zijn de melkkoeien en een groot deel van het land verkocht. Vanaf die tijd is de boerderij in gebruik als hobbyboerderij en nu als minicamping. De camping straalt rust en ruimte uit en u kunt bij ons genieten van een schitterend uitzicht en een prachtige zonsondergang. Voor de fietsliefhebber is het hier uitermate geschikt. In de nabije omgeving van de camping liggen verschillende natuurgebieden zoals het Drents Friese Wold, het Hijkerveld, het Fochteloërveen en het Dwingelerveld waar fietsen echt heerlijk is. Wandelaars kunnen eveneens in die natuurgebieden hun hart ophalen en ook Boswachterij Smilde bos heeft verschillende wandelroutes. Om te kunnen zwemmen hoef je ook niet ver. In Smilde is een overdekt zwembad en in Hoogersmilde is een openlucht zwembad aanwezig. Voor degene die liever niet in een chloorbad zwemmen is er het Blauwe meer. Op een boerderijcamping mogen de dieren natuurlijk niet ontbreken. Er zijn geiten, paarden, pony's, cavia’s en konijnen. De geiten krijgen in het vroege voorjaar lammetjes. Als je het treft zou je de geboorte kunnen meemaken. Het is voor de liefhebber mogelijk om op de camping paardrijles te krijgen. Dit seizoen (2009) hadden we ons eerste ponykamp. We hebben het voornemen om dit ieder jaar te gaan doen. Kijk voor meer paardennieuws ook eens op onze paardenpagina. Als kinderen het leuk vinden mogen ze meehelpen met voeren, uitmesten, borstelen en andere dingen die je doet om de dieren goed te verzorgen. Tijdens de TT week is het hier gezellig en kun je rustig kamperen. Je kunt aan de weg genieten van alle motoren die langs komen zoemen. Wilt u meer weten over onze camping? Wij zijn aangesloten bij de Vekabo (vereniging kamperen bij de boer) en bij de VVV Midden-Drenthe. En wij staan ook in de ANWB gids kleine campings. Graag tot ziens op de Wolvenhoeve !
