"Arrival on the day of the opening 2018 - In order to drive a little south towards spring 2018, but without covering more than 1000 kilometers, we chose Camping Holiday Village Florenz, which opened on 24.03.2018. This time I contacted the campsite via Facebook, which worked really well. I received a friendly reply straight away. We had our sights set on one of the five pitches, which are almost by the sea, and we were assured that there would certainly be one left for us. When we arrived, we received a very friendly welcome and were given our pitch by the sea, directly behind the Mona Lisa restaurant. At first there was a little confusion as we couldn't find the electricity box and when we found it at the playground, a little further away, there was still no electricity on the line. However, this small problem was rectified immediately by the friendly staff. The fuses were not in yet. In general, the campsite was still very busy with spring cleaning. Everything was newly planted. Overall, the campsite made a very well-kept impression. The sanitary facilities were very clean and were cleaned regularly. At the start of the season, however, only the small sanitary building was heated. This was understandable as the site was not even ten percent full. There was always enough toilet paper and soap in the toilets, which is the exception rather than the rule in Italy. Nevertheless, I do have one small criticism of the sanitary facilities. The "saloon doors", which were extremely tight and were totally greasy from being opened with your hands, didn't really make sense to me. While I'm on the subject of criticism... As we arrived relatively late and didn't feel like cooking ourselves once we had settled in, we went to the Mona Lisa restaurant, which was only a few meters away. There, the really friendly waitress brought us a menu with only fish dishes on it. We regretted that we didn't eat fish and ended up with a tortellini dish, but it arrived at the table so quickly that it could only have been defrosted in the microwave. And that's unfortunately how it tasted. Real Italian cuisine is different! The area behind the restaurant also proved to be very restless, as there was always a loud ventilation system running and many people were in the vicinity until late in the evening. I can't imagine what it's like in the high season. But that was it with the negative points. All in all, there are only positive things to say about the campsite. One argument for choosing this campsite was its proximity to Comacchio (approx. 7 kilometers), the "Little Venice" that we wanted to visit. We took our bikes with us especially for this. There is a cycle path from the campsite to Porto Garibaldi, but then you have to take the busy country road to Comacchio, which was littered with dead nutrias. Comacchio was almost empty of tourists at the time of our visit, which was very pleasing, but we didn't get to buy any ice cream there as the stores were all still closed. On the way back, we found a wonderful cycle path that led to Porto Garibaldi and the harbor. There we also got to eat our delicious gelati. Overall, the Camping Holiday Village Florence campsite was highly recommended, although we would certainly not visit such a site in the high season, as it would certainly be too busy for us then. I would particularly like to mention that everything was always very clean and the really nice lady at reception spoke to us in almost perfect German. Our first campsite of the 2018 season was a complete success!

"If you like Italian animation and are not looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you - We stayed at the campsite in August 2017, which is in a very scenic location. The individual pitches are divided into different categories (size, electricity, water). Most of the pitches are shady as they are surrounded by trees. The ground is mostly sandy. The pool is small but very clean, the lifeguard is nice but very firm. The staff are friendly and helpful. Language is Italian, some English, German only sometimes and very limited. The sanitary facilities are a few years old, technically in order and mostly clean, the shower cubicles are very small. There is a small supermarket that covers everything, as well as 2 restaurants and a bar. The entertainment is generally only in Italian, as about 90% of the guests are Italian. The beach is clean, but there is little space for guests who do not want to rent sun loungers. The beach is very shallow, about 100 meters to 1.8 meters water depth are reached. The midday rest is only observed to a limited extent, night-time rest from midnight at the earliest. We were most disturbed by the sometimes extreme disturbance, as (at our pitch) at night the animation was unmistakable from one side, and on the other side on the passing road the local proletarians with their tuned vehicles conjured up black stripes on the asphalt or held acceleration races. Yesterday evening there was even gunfire from 0:00 to 0:30, we felt like we were in the middle of a naval battle when the vibrations could be felt in our air mattresses. Another annoyance was unfortunately some inconsiderate guests with dogs. Owners would go to the beach, put the dog on a lead by the caravan and it would then yap at the top of its lungs. One couple even had 1 beo and 1 parrot with them, which made a racket in the awning while the owners were out and about. I have nothing against the animals, but one guest showed that there is another way, who had his dog under control and either took it with him or left it in the motorhome, which meant that there was peace and quiet. If you like Italian entertainment and aren't looking for peace and quiet, you're in good hands here.
