Profile

Hendriks Wijkje Family Campsite is a small and welcoming campsite located in the quiet village of Elim in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is mainly designed for families with young children and grandparents travelling with their grandchildren. Thanks to …its compact layout and relaxed atmosphere, guests quickly feel at home. The camping pitches are spaciously arranged around a large open field, ensuring that the playground is always in view. This makes the campsite especially comfortable for parents, as children can play freely while still being easy to keep an eye on. In addition to the pitches, there are also special rental accommodations available, such as fully equipped safari tents and a traditional pipowagon, offering a unique camping experience. The campsite provides everything needed for a comfortable stay. There is a large playground with a trampoline, climbing frames and a sand area where children can spend the whole day playing. The modern sanitary building is heated and well maintained, and the showers are free to use. Every morning guests can enjoy a fresh bread service, and the small reception offers snacks, ice cream, games and books. Laundry facilities are also available, as well as free WiFi throughout the site. For children, there are often additional activities such as pony encounters and animal experiences, which make the stay even more enjoyable. The surrounding area is perfect for family day trips. The popular Slagharen Amusement Park is just a short drive away and is especially loved by children. Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen is also nearby and offers a full day of animal experiences. In addition, there are several swimming and recreation lakes in the region, including the area around Schoonhoven. The province of Drenthe is known for its wide natural landscapes, ideal for cycling and hiking. There are also indoor play centres and swimming pools nearby, making the area attractive even in less favourable weather.
