"Once is enough - A typical city campground where the city’s appeal (in this case, Heidelberg) is bound to outshine what the campground has to offer. We had planned our fall vacation for late August/early September 2026 in Neckargemünd. So we made a firm reservation—a deposit of 50% of the fee for the campsite, the visitor tax, and the bed tax. (No security for me.) Upon arrival, we were able to move into our reserved site quickly. Since the grass had completely disappeared from the area under our RV awning over the course of the (hot) summer, we laid our light- and water-permeable camping carpet directly on the bare ground. Unfortunately, we were firmly informed that this was not permitted according to the campground rules and that the mat had to be removed. As a result, the amount of dirt tracked into the trailer was disproportionately high! While a midday quiet period—with a ban on vehicle traffic—is standard at almost every campground, this unfortunately did not apply to the lawn mower tractor, which was already making its rounds at 2:30 p.m. The very large flower box below the restroom building looked very neglected to us. Weeds growing in and around the stone trough do not give the impression of a well-maintained site. Electricity is supplied via ECE plugs for 4 sites, with electricity usage measured centrally at the reception desk. However, half of the campers cannot comply with the DIN VDE 0100-708 regulation, which limits extension cords to a maximum of 25 meters. The price of EUR 0.90 per kW of electricity is also worth reconsidering. A cable TV or satellite connection would also be an advantage, since the tall trees—which provide pleasant shade—unfortunately also block the line of sight to the satellite. Kudos to the cleaning staff, who have always managed to keep the restroom facilities clean and tidy. The main restroom building seemed to me to have been built at a time when shower stalls didn’t yet exist (defunct water outlets for the showerheads—a risk of salmonella?). In the meantime, however, individual shower stalls have been installed

"great campsite by the beautiful river Necker - The setting is fabulous and really well situated for access to Heidelberg Showers etc we’re all fine and it’s clearly a popular spot for returning campers All great really. We really enjoyed our stay.

"Top campsite! Super location, top facilities, excellent service - A wonderful campsite right on the Neckar with a great location. Very close to Heidelberg, but also quiet with a view of the Neckar and the surrounding mountains and forests. And don't forget, it's only a few minutes' walk to the small and charming town of Neckargemünd. A campsite couldn't be in a better location. The site is very well run, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the sanitary facilities are top-notch and nothing else is left to be desired. Personal bathrooms, bread rolls on offer, a gastronomic offer and for those who can't resist, you can even rent a small office to work in. It was incredible for us to see how well this place has developed in recent years under new management. We will definitely be back.

"Innovative and beautiful campsite - Great campsite, arrival, stay, departure - very well organized, reception technically and staffed very well equipped, very nice and competent reception. We stayed in one of the igloo huts (2 people) and used our own bathroom cabin - simply wonderful. Everything was spotlessly clean and the facilities and concept were very innovative. Very good location, right on the Neckar, Neckarsgemünd is a beautiful town with restaurants, bookshop, cafés and more, public transport 300m from the campsite, everything within easy reach, e.g. Heidelberg, hiking areas, cycle paths. Bread roll service, beer garden. Igloos and fixed tents are an absolute highlight - a different way to camp. Tents recommended for families with children (4p), huts for 2 p. We slept really well and waking up with a view of the Neckar is simply beautiful. Respect to the campsite owners and the crew - to create something so beautiful. We would love to come back.

"Unfortunately not as expected - We had reserved and paid for a seat in advance. Unfortunately, we were then allocated a less attractive seat for no apparent reason, although the one we had reserved was free. "That's just the way it is now", too bad, too bad. That's not how you should treat visitors. Most of the pitches are rather small, so with a 7.5 m vehicle and awning, you're right up against your neighbors. Driving into the pitch is also often tricky when the pitch is full. It gets really difficult if you're not so good on your feet, as the sanitary facilities are only accessible via steps. The front ones have over 10 steps, the rear ones over 20. What is also difficult to understand is that you are not allowed to lay out awning carpeting, as this would damage the grass. There was hardly any grass on the pitch, just bare earth. 90 cents per kW of electricity is also very expensive. Overall, the pitch is rather expensive and apart from the location, there is hardly anything special to justify the price.

"100% recommendation from us! - Summary of our vacation here: Not too big a campsite with very nice operators, pleasantly quiet, beautiful location and ideal starting point for hiking (also very nice by bike), excursions to Heidelberg by public transport, and just relaxing by the Neckar. Although the Neckar did not invite us to swim, we did discover two brave souls who dared to take a dip. The sanitary facilities on site were not new, but very ok. All in all, it was a great experience for us and as a couple we can highly recommend the campsite.

The Neckargemünd "Unne an de Brigg" campsite is located in Neckargemünd, idyllically situated by the river of the same name and the Friedensbrücke bridge. From Easter 2024, as the new tenants, we will give the site a new face and …run it through the season with a lot of love and commitment. We look forward to welcoming many guests. Would you like to combine holiday and work? In our co-working space next to the reception you have peace and quiet and a reliable internet connection and your family can have a good time on the campsite. The campsite offers varied and exciting leisure activities for the whole family. The direct location on the Neckar river and the canoe hire at the campsite allow guests to explore the surrounding area from the water. There are two sanitary buildings on the site, which are equipped with washrooms, showers and toilets as well as a changing table, dishwashing facilities, basins for hand washing, washing machine, tumble dryer and disposal rooms for chemical toilets. A disabled facility with toilet, washbasin and showers is also available. Several hotspots throughout the site ensure that guests can also surf the internet wirelessly from their holiday destination. The associated restaurant with adjoining beer garden also endeavours to spoil guests with delicious food.
