Almost all campsites are right on the lake Very friendly staff Clean restrooms Bread roll delivery service Restaurants within easy walking distance
Negatives
Shower: 5 minutes, 1.00 euro Wi-Fi available for a fee; poor quality
A wonderful campground right on the lake
We had already booked last year and were given a really great spot by the lake.
The campsites are plenty big, and the electrical hookup is close by.
We had to walk a bit to get fresh water, but that was fine.
The restrooms were always clean, but the women’s showers are at the front of the building, so... you have to walk around the building if you want to use a washroom afterward.
There’s a bread delivery service on site, and they serve delicious cake at lunchtime. A food truck comes by a few days a week (on Tuesdays, for example, with delicious burgers).
The campground’s location is unbeatable, and we’ll definitely be back 😊

Great campsite in beautiful nature
Beautifully laid out campsite directly on the Walchensee. The village can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. Very helpful team who have been running the site for almost five years. Well-stocked store with food from the region. Catering provided in the evening by various food trucks that come to the campsite.... The site is very well organized, with new sanitary facilities that are always clean.
Beautiful hiking opportunities directly from the campsite, or use of public transport (included in the guest card).
We will be back.

Advantages
Mega lake Manageable place Nice staff Sanitary super Pazellen (at the lake) great high recreational value
Negatives
Nothing to complain about! except: mobile phone coverage in the area is sometimes insufficient. Therefore only cash payment possible in many places.
Unique top!
We stayed there for eight nights. It was EM and we watched it together with many people on the terrace of the Reze. Very family-friendly! The staff are very nice and you can pay cashless in the minimarket. It is credited to your bill. You can buy the essentials. Shopping possibilities only in Walchensee... at the organic/fish vending machine or approx. 11 km in the supermarket in the next village.

The pitches are well paved and very large. We were on pitch 58 directly on the lake. A very nice site. The sanitary building is central and clean. Showers cost 1 euro! But the background is that the waste water has to be disposed of. From our point of view this is no longer up to date but ok here.

You can SUP on the lake and also hire one. Bicycle paths available. Partly on the road. Plenty of hiking trails! The campsite is one of the best we've been to due to its size and facilities!

Would come back in a heartbeat!!!

Beautiful location directly on the lake, clean facilities.

Unfortunately no direct shopping facilities in the village itself, you have to drive 15 km for this.
We will be back!!!
We were totally satisfied with the campsite. It's right on the lake and also has its own swimming area. The sanitary facilities were always clean. The reception was always friendly and helpful. The mini-market is well stocked for the standard so you don't have to starve and die of thirst. But it has... to be, as the nearest shopping facilities are around 15 km away.
We really enjoyed the place. You can go on countless hikes there or just chill out by the lake.

Vacation September 2021
After a long wait, we were finally able to start our vacation in the region at the beginning of September. We had booked 5 days and got a wonderful pitch right on the lake. Great joy!!! On the second day of our stay we got the call that everything at home was under water. Water pipe burst in the kitchen,... bathroom, hallway and cellar were badly affected. We had to break off. We had to pay "30.00 €" as a kind of penalty for breaking off prematurely. Let's be honest: who drives about 800 km from northern Germany to Bavaria to cancel their long-awaited vacation on the second day? Apart from that, the place is really great. Will we come back??? Let's see...

To feel good
New campsite operators, very friendly. Good bread roll service, new showers for ladies, small playground, beautiful pitch right on the lake.
Lots of excursion possibilities, such as hiking, cycling, Zugspitze, Innsbruck and much more.
We have nothing to complain about, we were completely satisfied.
Everything was clean and despite Corona, a negative rapid test every 48 hours, we spent a relaxing vacation at Walchensee.

Super vacation!
Despite two extensions due to a move, the boss was never annoyed, always smiling and ready for a chat. Although there was always a lot for her to do. The phone never stopped ringing and there was always a queue at the registration desk. A big compliment to the entire site team. There was always a hustle and bustle. 👍😊

Beautifully situated campsite right on the lake!
If you are looking for a simple, beautiful and quiet campsite in a direct location on the lake, this is the place for you! No "camping circus", no superfluous offers, but everything you need for camping: a beautiful location, quiet, relaxed atmosphere, nice and very helpful service, always approachable,... small store, clean sanitary facilities. In spring or fall, however, a warmer sanitary area would be desirable, but we found the price reasonable. With this panorama directly on the lake and without the unfortunately increasingly frequent hustle and bustle of other campsites, you can relax wonderfully and we will gladly come back! Thanks to the friendly team!

A beautiful place in a beautiful spot on earth
If you are looking for a campsite in a quiet TOP location directly on the Walchensee with a top panorama, hikes from the site, this is the right place for you. If you are looking for a campsite with very friendly and helpful operators, this is the place for you. Pitches directly on the lake and behind... it, separated into dog area and without dogs. Small store with bread roll service, the most important everyday things and the possibility to have breakfast. Everything TOP. As one of the previous speakers said, many things are a bit "oldscool", but that doesn't mean it's negative. A few days without a tablet because of poor reception and no wifi, a few days without TV because of partially poor to no satellite reception also has something going for it. The only minimal point of criticism is the sanitary facilities, I think the operator needs to invest something there in the long term. Not in terms of cleanliness, everything was great. They made the best of what the premises/outdoors had to offer. We were here in mid/late September, and God knows there are more pleasant things than finding unheated shower rooms and more or less open-air men's toilets at 8 o'clock in the morning when it's 2 degrees outside. Certainly not a problem in summer. Nevertheless, we can recommend the campsite 100%. We felt very comfortable. Many thanks to the whole team

Location of the CP
Whitsun 2019
We were there as a family of four for a week. The sanitary facilities were cleaned daily and kept clean and the pitches were large enough for a caravan, awning and car. The ground on the site was very stony and hard, you needed good equipment for fixing the awning, the location of the site is very quiet,... an ideal starting point for various activities, be it the Herzogstandbahn, cycling on the lake, or by car to Garmisch Partenkirchen (30 min) to the Zugspitzbahn station, and much more.

Whitsun vacation 2019
We stayed here as a family with 2 adults and 2 teenagers aged 11 and 15 with our caravan. The campsite is a great starting point for activities in the mountains. The surroundings with the beautiful Walchensee and the magnificent mountains were a dream. The campsite itself is relatively small and manageable... with a tent meadow at the front and a few permanent campers and the tourist pitches at the back. The pitches are semi-shaded and graveled and large enough for a medium-sized camper van with awning. The ground is very, very stony and you definitely need proper steel pegs and a decent feustel to hammer them in. You don't even need to try anything else. Water taps are available at intervals of approx. 100 - 150 meters. There is no waste water on site. Power points are available. The site has good sanitary facilities with sufficient toilets, showers and washrooms. 50 cent coins are required for hot water (7 minutes). Washing machine and dryer are available. There are also squeegees for the showers. It was cleaned daily and everything was always very clean, which is of course also due to the well-behaved guests. There is a small store with a bread roll service. However, the site itself does not have a restaurant. There is also no Wi-Fi (but the internet is currently being installed around the Walchensee) and very poor network reception (probably also depends on the network operator) as well as poor to no satellite reception. For helicopter parents who want to give their children an "all-round carefree fun package", the campsite is definitely nothing, as there is only a very small playground and nothing else, just a bit old school. We loved it there because it's in a picturesque landscape and there's really no hustle and bustle on the site. It's very, very dignified here and all the people around you were always very friendly, especially the site staff. It's a bit like the old days. And you can go a week without Wi-Fi and satellite reception. A place for real campers and not for "wannabe campers" with a nipping dog in the back ;-) Speaking of dogs....Dogs are only allowed in the front area. The rear area is a dog-free zone, which was a real blessing for us when you've experienced other places where every second guest had a dog in tow. Addendum: Be careful when entering the campsite! It's relatively narrow, especially if you drive in with a caravan and someone is approaching from inside. However, access to the individual pitches is no problem. The paths are wide enough.

Beautiful campsite in a great location
We were on the site with a tent. There are 3 tent pitches right by the lake. Great location with a beautiful panorama, right on the lake and surrounded by mountains. Very quiet in itself, you can only hear the main road from time to time. Good price-performance ratio.

Great location
We stayed at this campsite for 14 days with our dog and caravan. The location and color of the lake are simply indescribable. There is a small store with fresh baked goods, drinks, etc... as well as fresh coffee, breakfast, etc.. The staff was friendly, as the campsite was fully booked, the sanitary... facilities were not always clean, which was not always due to the staff. The surroundings are fantastic, we discovered a lot of new things and felt comfortable.

Place directly on the lake with a great panorama.
We spent two weeks on this site in June/July 2017. The site stretches along the beautiful lake, the pitches > 60 in the front row are just great, here you have enough space for the caravan with awning and a direct view of the lake and the Herzogstand. There is also a small private beach, which is peacefully... shared by bathers, stand-up paddlers and catamaran sailors. At the weekend, the road noise from the opposite shore can be disturbing; there are then tons of motorcyclists who want to let off steam here. The store sells bread rolls, groceries and camping equipment as well as breakfast and pizza, etc. The area offers a variety of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking and many water sports.

Simple, but very great campsite
We stayed at the campsite for a week with two children and a dog. It was just great. The site is of a simple nature, i.e. only electricity on site, a sanitary building with a few showers and toilets. Different sized pitches with gravel. The nice thing about the site is that there is a diverse crowd,... i.e. tents, caravans and motorhomes of all sizes. The location and panorama are simply magnificent. A great kiosk where you can get everything you need, including small dishes to eat. There is even a small breakfast buffet in the morning. Buns and other things too, of course. It was great fun to visit a campsite again without all the frills, back to the roots so to speak. The children didn't miss anything and rated the campsite as the most beautiful so far. We'd love to come back, thanks to the Pangerl family Ps It cost €0.50 to shower, but that didn't bother us at all. The advantage is that water is not wasted and children don't mess around in the wash house.
