"Unusual campsite - ......but the only one far and wide. That's why it fascinates me somehow. I was there for 3 weeks in May/June and the whole of September with my tent. The location of the campsite in Montegallo and the Sibillini Mountains is simply unique. The mountain tours there are quite demanding and the panoramic views from the top of the ridge, usually in fine weather, are tremendous. Unfortunately, the ascents into the mountains are currently only possible from the east, as all access roads to Norcia and Castelluccio are still closed due to the severe earthquake in 2016. Camping Vettore, named after Mt. Vettore (as you can see in the pictures), is a fairly simple site and open all year round. Some of the bungalows are occupied by earthquake victims from the surrounding area. The owner is a pizza chef, site manager and janitor in one and is extremely friendly, nice and helpful. If anyone has any questions about the campsite or the Sibillini Mountains, they are welcome to contact me via Camping.Info.

Profile

Camping Vettore is located 400 mt from Balzo di Montegallo, on the slopes of Monte Vettore. The structure is equipped with every kind of comfort a camper can desire: there are 50 places for trailers and tents, bathroom facilities, showers …and a laudry. Your stay will be made escecially enjoyable thanks to a series of activities organized by the camping structure: excursions on foot, on horse back, on mountain bike, with authorized guides along mountain paths or to the top of Monte Vettore (2476 mt); mountain sports (excursion, trekking, climbing) and extreme sports (paragliding, hang gliding, rafting, free-climbing). On the other hand, if you just want to relax, then you can simply stay in our comfortable wooden bungalow, mini apartaments with kitchen, bathroom, indoor heating and veranda.
