Der Platz wurde im Jahre 1969 in unmittelbarer Nähe zum nördlichen Ausgang des Elisabethfehn-Kanals auf einer ca. 3ha großen Fläche angelegt. Idyllisch am Wald gelegen, bietet er viele Möglichkeiten der Freizeitgestaltung für Jung und Alt. Der nahe Kanal – es …ist der einzige noch schiffbare Fehnkanal in Deutschland – und die eigenartige Landschaft des nahen Hammrich mit dem Flusssystem von Leda, Jümme und Soeste bieten Wassersportlern und Anglern viele Möglichkeiten auf etwa 60km Flussläufen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten finden Sie auf dem Platz und in der näheren Umgebung in Elisabethfehn-Dreibrücken und Barßel. Für Radler und Autowanderer ist der Platz der ideale Ausgangspunkt für Fahrten auf der „Deutschen Fehnroute“ und der „Moor -Erlebnisroute“ sowie für Tagestouren in die nähere und weitere Umgebung z.B. nach Leer und Papenburg. Sie sollten auch nicht versäumen das angrenzende Ammerland mit seiner einmaligen Gartenlandschaft und der Perle Bad Zwischenahn am Zwischenahner Meer zu besuchen. An dieser Stelle kann nur ein kleiner Teil der möglichen Aktivitäten vorgestellt werden, vor Ort sind unser Mitarbeiter auf dem Platz und seine Frau bei der Planung behilflich, wenn Sie es wünschen. Unser Platz bietet 170 Stellplätze für Dauercamper und 17 Stellplätze für Reisemobilisten / Tagescamper an. Alle Plätze haben eine feste Grasnarbe und können mit Fahrzeugen befahren werden. Die Plätze für Dauercamper haben eine unterschiedliche Größe, danach richtet sich auch der Preis. Die Plätze für Reisemobilisten/Dauercamper sind großzügig geschnitten, so dass jeder Gast seinen eigenen Bereich hat. Sie liegen in unmittelbarer Nähe unserer sanitären Einrichtungen. Reisemobile können sie problemlos befahren. Auf dem Platz wird ein kleiner Kiosk betrieben, hier gibt es die wichtigsten Sachen vor Ort zu kaufen, aber auch Eis und Naschereien. Die Öffnungszeiten entnehmen sie bitte beim Empfang.
