"Plain text - It's time to speak plainly! We've been going to the Lido Mappo several times a year for 25 years and have always been delighted - but that's over now! A new sanitary building is being built and not even a year later the prices are being raised by a whopping 15%. But that's not all - a new mid-season is also being introduced. As a result, our pitch would have cost a whopping 30% more in 2022 than in 2021! Respect 30%! I don't want to know how many CHF we have left on the Lido Mappo in 25 years and used to pre-finance the new sanitary building, because nothing has actually happened on the pitch in those 25 years. To top it all off, the old reservation regulations are now being reintroduced - reservation fee, payments on account and if you have to cancel your vacation - the money continues to go on vacation at Lido Mappo - because you have to pay for the entire reserved time. As an example of how things can be done differently, here are a few pictures of a campsite in Germany. A real luxury sanitary building in black marble is being built - and will the prices be raised? No! And no, the pitch is not more expensive than on the Lido Mappo, but even cheaper than the Lido Mappo was until 2021! The Lido Mappo won't see another centime from us - there are other beautiful destinations!

"We love this place - We like the large pitches that you can choose with more or less sun, except for those with lake access, which are really scarce. We always experience very helpful and friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities and the oldest one is now being replaced, we are looking forward to it. The proximity to the lake and the short distance to Locarno, the TeneroCentro for shopping and the central location for excursions all make the campsite a relaxing vacation spot. It wouldn't be my first choice for families with small children, but it certainly would be for over 55s.

"Fall vacation - We were so disappointed here last Saturday, I asked to make a reservation and was told that no reservations are accepted for short breaks, but we should just come, there would be enough free places! We arrived with a good feeling and when it was finally our turn to check in we were told it was full, so unlucky! Unfortunately, the start of our vacation was anything but optimal and the friendliness or rather the helpfulness at the reception left a lot to be desired, a pity for the campsite!

"Vacation in Ticino - We spent 6 wonderful nights here. The campsite is highly recommended. Very quiet and the sanitary facilities very clean. Were cleaned several times a day. Store was absolutely everything available, so you can find everything you need to camp!!! We will be back!!!

"Campers with higher demands - Very clean and friendly. Ideal for campers with higher requirements - pitches with water/waste water are available. Nice shady pitches. Very full and cramped in high season. Service and quality in the restaurant has declined - except if you are from nearby - then extremely friendly and courteous.
