"Summer Vacation 2026 - 9 Days - We quickly found our pre-reserved campsite—which, as usual, came with a reservation fee. What was especially nice was that we were able to park right next to our friends. We were a bit surprised, however, by the high turnover at the campground. We had originally assumed that the campsites could mostly be reserved on a weekly basis and would therefore be occupied for that length of time. Over the course of our week, however, we noticed that vehicles were arriving and departing regularly. We really liked the campsites themselves. The utility stations right at the campsites are especially convenient. They even offer a place to dispose of chemical toilet waste—a truly nice touch that makes everyday camping life easier. Schmölz Restaurant: We were thoroughly impressed by everything here. During our stay, we ate at Restaurant Schmölz on the campground several times. And we have nothing but positive things to say about it. On Monday, we attended the barbecue night they were offering. The staff was very attentive and friendly. However, something went wrong with the food: our order was simply forgotten. The result: We waited about 1.5 hours until our food finally arrived at the table. We’re on vacation and can generally take such things in stride. They apologized to us several times, and in the end, we even got a shot of schnapps on the house. So all’s well! The next day was “Burger Day.” The burgers were very tasty and grilled to perfection. However, the staff’s attitude that evening was completely different. One waiter came across as unfriendly on several occasions. The restrooms are very well-equipped, but there aren’t enough of them. The short walk down to the Edeka is a plus. On the downside, the exit at the back leading to the gondola isn’t open or accessible. Overall, it’s very well located—5 ⭐️—but there’s room for improvement.

"Great view, but definitely not 5 stars!! - Unfortunately, the exceptional view can't completely make up for these shortcomings. Overall, I would rate the campground 3.5 out of 5 stars at most.

"Camping - I find it very clean the toilets as well as all the facilities the staff is very friendly and helpful the janitor super person next time you drink a beer with me 😂 you can shop directly opposite at Aldi great view I personally can only recommend it

"Super nice place - Super nice campsite with private bathroom if you want. Nice staff and everything very well maintained. Sauna and gym included in the price. Bus connection directly on the road from the campsite. Restaurant 2 minutes away, as well as a supermarket

"Enjoy the peace and quiet with a view of the Zugspitze - A very nice and clean campsite. Pitches with private bathroom👍👍 The service super nice and always helpful. Tumble dryer, hotplate and kettle are available for a rental fee. Washing machine and dryer are available. Bread roll service very good and tasty. A barbecue evening is offered directly at the reception on Mondays and Tuesdays. Otherwise there is a restaurant below the campsite. Great shopping facilities. Aldi and Edeka can be reached from the campsite in two minutes via a flight of stairs. Tickets for the bus ride are included. Thank you for the lovely stay. We would love to come back.

Pure luxury in the heart of nature – that's what the Camping Resort Zugspitze in the Alpine village of Grainau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen offers. It is a high-quality holiday resort with spacious panoramic pitches, mountain huts with outdoor seating and, as …a special overnight accommodation option, four sleeping barrels. Guests enjoy camping at its finest. As a special feature, private bathrooms are available on request directly at the pitch, as are fixed gas connections. The pitches, which can be as large as 150 square metres, are easily accessible, even for large vehicles. A modern keyless card system, Wi-Fi and state-of-the-art sanitary facilities complete the camping comfort. The icing on the cake is the cosy and tastefully designed sauna and fitness area with a panoramic view. Supermarket, bus stops, workshops, petrol stations and restaurants are just a few metres away. Many of the facilities are also designed for people with disabilities. The luxurious complex offers refreshments in the ‘Alpspitzblick’ bistro or in the ‘Schmölzer Wirt’, a rustic Bavarian restaurant serving regional delicacies and fine wines. World-famous attractions such as Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Eibsee lake, the Höllental and Partnachklamm gorges, and magnificent castles are in the immediate vicinity. Active holidaymakers can go hiking, walking, canoeing, cycling, mountain biking, golfing, surfing, paragliding and, in winter, skiing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, ice climbing, winter hiking and much more.
