"Price-performance ratio is not right - The price-performance ratio is not right here, the site is far too expensive in comparison. We have been on the road for 8 weeks and have stayed on several 5 * pitches (ADAC Superplätze and Leading Campings) before we came to the Schwarzwälder Hof. The pitches have a clean gravel surface. Water, waste water and electricity are on site. All pitches are quite level, so even for camper vans only a little alignment is necessary. With very few exceptions, the pitches are not separated by hedges. So there is no private atmosphere on the pitches, more of a parking lot character. At this time of year, the Schwarzwälder Hof only offers a sanitary area in the main building, which is of a medium standard at most, but always clean. To get to the men's area, you have to go down a rather steep staircase. Understandably, maintenance work is taking place at this time of year. During our 2-day stay, on the first day grass was cut around our pitch from the morning onwards with a brush cutter, on the second day trees and bushes were dug up next to our pitch with an excavator before we left. The site doesn't have a store, so there are no facilities on site. As we were there on a Monday of all days, the restaurant wasn't open either. There was no sports or entertainment program, as was the case on the other 5* campsites 7/365, i.e. every day. We arrived on the evening of March 15, spent a day on the campsite and left the next day, March 17, in the morning. So realistically we had one day to use the included 1.5 hour sauna area (which unfortunately wasn't possible for us for health reasons). We paid more than €140 for our stay (caravan, mid-category pitch 80 m², 2 people, no dog, no extra services, 1.5 hours sauna). In our opinion, and also in comparison to other 5* campsites, this is far too expensive.

"Great for relaxing - The sauna is amazing, it's worth going there for that and we'll stay there more often and relax in the sauna. One negative point, however, is that you have to be at the sauna in good time. Only 165 people are allowed in, which doesn't overcrowd the sauna, but significantly more people can stay at the campsite, the vacation homes and the hotel. Waiting times can therefore occur. The site is well terraced and the pitches are in good condition. The surrounding area is ideal for hiking. Bread rolls are available on site, but only for cash, which I can't understand in this day and age.

"Rip-off - The only thing that is paradisiacal here are the prices. Two of us paid €60 for a piece of meat in the restaurant, which was sold to us as a schnitzel, with a drink each. The whole thing was topped with a cheap sauce from a packet. However, the final straw when we checked out was the bill. We supposedly used 136 KW of electricity in four days and paid 121 € for it. However, apart from our fridge and our electric oven for baking bread rolls three times for 12 minutes, we hadn't used any electricity. All the talking didn't help. We were simply told that we had used it, that's it and we had to pay for it. It's a shame that you can't give minus stars. We would certainly do that here.

"A very nice place - We would love to come back, it is a bit expensive but we knew that beforehand ;-) For the children there are a lot of leisure activities with guided hikes, crafting boats with subsequent races at the nearby stream and many playgrounds

"Great stay - We stayed here with our new camper for the weekend. We felt very comfortable here. Starting with the really friendly staff, the clean, beautiful toilets (ground floor wash house 2 - just great) and the large, beautiful pitches. There is a quiet and very nice walking path along the river.

"Swimming pool and sauna not barrier-free, otherwise a nice place - beautiful place on the edge of the Black Forest. A camperclean that also works is available. The supply and disposal station is great. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you. There is still potential in the organization of the sauna area. You can't get from the swimming pool to the sauna area..., there are other technical solutions.

Here, the sunrise awaits you. Fantastically embedded in the nature of the Black Forest, laid out on several terraces and equipped with everything you need for a wonderful camping holiday. Where else can you find a 5-star campsite with a …sauna, wellness area, indoor swimming pool and a restaurant right on the premises? And when it comes to infrastructure, camping with comfort is the order of the day here. A real insider tip for those who like a little luxury when camping. As a guest at our campsite, you have the restaurant with Baden and international cuisine and the wellness area, which makes camping a luxury holiday, right on your doorstep. Admission to the sauna is included in the price for 1.5 hours daily from 1 overnight stay for persons aged 13 and over, and for children on family days (Wednesday and Friday). Wi-Fi is available free of charge. However, due to our rural location, we only have limited bandwidth available. We make this fully available to our guests. In addition to pitches for tents and caravans, we have something very special for groups: experience a particularly wonderful time in our small country houses. In our camping shop, you will find fresh bread and rolls, as well as many items and food for your daily needs. During the winter months, we guarantee a bread delivery service if you order before 6 p.m. the day before through reception. The sanitary facilities are located in the main building and in an adjoining building. The washrooms and toilets are heated by a modern solar system. Our junior campers feel just like the grown-ups in the children's washroom area with washbasins at three different heights and showers for toddlers. The friendly family bathroom facilities are complemented by a baby corner with a bathtub and a changing table. In the rooms in the main building, there is also a disabled toilet with a shower. If you don't have your bathroom with you, you are welcome to rent one from us for your own private bathroom. From the entertainment programme to the adventure playground, the toddler play area or the play barn, we offer our guests, both young and old, a wide range of opportunities for playing and sports. Guided family tours, baking bread on a stick, pony rides or the ever-popular Schutter Regatta and much more...
