- Christian S.June 2023PositivaBeautiful pool area Beautiful beach (but ....) Price/performance ratioNegativaThe sanitary facilities are clean, but more than in need of renovation. Access with caravan quite difficult Very, very, very many midges in the sanitary area Pitches and paths to them quite unkempt Characterized by large plots of permanent campers Quite a long way to the beachOk as a starting point for Viareggio, Pisa and FlorenceOne of the best pitches in the region according to the reviews ... that surprised us a little ...
The pool area and the (freely accessible) beach section are very nice. The central square with restaurants and store also makes a good impression. The price is also absolutely fine.
Unfortunately, you... are surprised at the entrance. The indicated Via dei Tegli is closed - the campsite must be approached via the larger road in front of it, but the campsite is signposted.
After check-in, the pitches are opposite the access road. You have to turn around a fence with the caravan and thus turn 180 degrees. The paths between the pitches are also sometimes so narrow due to trees and water points that you should take care of your vehicle. The pitches themselves are quite unkempt in terms of greenery.
The sanitary facilities are clean, but old and in need of renovation. The cabins are overrun with mosquitoes! There are hundreds of mosquitoes at the urinals alone. There are also at least 10 to 50 mosquitoes per cubicle in the toilet cubicles. Nature conservation or not, there should urgently be some spraying here, at least with biological agents.
The admittedly quite beautiful beach is unfortunately (probably usual in this region) over 2km away from the campsite. We recommend taking a bike with you. It is also over 5km to Viareggio.
The campsite is dominated by Italian permanent campers, who are mainly here at the weekend. However, rest periods are observed. Some of the permanent campers' pitches are equipped with very basic furniture and equipment.Automatiskt översatt. - Karl H.August 2018PositivaClose to Pisa and Luca, very nice and helpful staff; very few mosquitoesNegativaSanitary facilities not separated, dishwashing (warm) only possible at three poolsIdeal starting point for visiting Pisa and LucaIt takes about 20 minutes by car to Pisa or Luca (bus would also have been possible). The sanitary facilities are not separate and not exactly modern, but still clean. There were rabbits running around on the pitch, which had a certain entertainment value :-) Hot showers work via a chip that has to be topped up. We used the ADAC card, which included the showers.Automatiskt översatt.
- Monika M.May 2018PositivaNear Pisa and LuccaNegativaExtremely many mosquitoesa campsite for overnight staysA small camping area that belongs to a bungalow village. Light tree population. Large and sufficient washrooms. Not separated for men and women. The restaurant is good. Due to the nearby nature reserve, an exceptionally large number of mosquitoes, which attack unsuspecting vacationers who have not applied sunscreen.Automatiskt översatt.
- Martin F.September 2016Positiva- Competent and helpful reception - Good location for excursionsNegativa- no larger town within walking distanceTop price-performance ratio - very friendly informationWe stayed in September 2016 with a motorhome. In the low season, one night including tourist tax cost around €19. There is a free choice of pitches on partly parceled out and partly free areas. Despite the relatively low price, the sanitary facilities were clean and well maintained. The mini store has... everything you need at reasonable prices. Viareggio can be reached in 20 minutes by bike. We also made excursions by bus to Lucca, Pisa and Florence. Tickets, including very friendly and helpful advice on excursions, are available from the campsite reception. The beach can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes, as already described several times by other commentators. By bike it is about 8 minutes. We didn't use the shuttle bus, but it was available free of charge. All in all: one of the best places for a great price.Automatiskt översatt.
- AP L.June 2016PositivaPractical for excursions in TuscanyNegativaUnfortunately not directly by the seaNice place with small weaknessesNice, well-kept place which unfortunately is not directly by the sea. However, there is an on-site bus that runs every half hour to the free public beach and back. However, this is not maintained and cleaned, which was already quite annoying in the low season. We visited cities like Lucca, Pisa and Viareggio... from here. The site itself was still quite empty, so it was very quiet and there were nice pitches in the shade and also in the sun. A small store on site has a nice selection and very moderate prices, and you can fill your own bottles of wine (red and white) from a vending machine. The pool, which was free with Acsi, otherwise you have to pay extra, is not too big but very nicely laid out. The sanitary facilities were always very clean even if they were not quite modern. The pizza in the restaurant is recommended and was also available to take away. The staff were nice and always friendly. It was very funny that there were little bunnies running around freely on the site.Automatiskt översatt.
- Gerhard S.August 2014NegativaVolume in the eveningClean campsite near the Mediterranean, ideal for excursions in TuscanyDecent pitches, but some too small for caravans, awnings and cars. Clean sanitary facilities, showers cost extra, but have the advantage that the showers are not blocked by constant showerers. Nice pool, but also costs extra. Friendly staff, small grocery store with fresh bread every day on the site.... Approx. 15 minutes walk from the sea, but a free bus runs to the beach every 30 minutes. Beach mostly for a fee, only a few free beaches. Loud music in the evenings. Ideal for excursions into Tuscany. Viareggio train station only a few minutes away by car. Relaxed train journey to Florence recommended.Automatiskt översatt.
- Christina K.August 2013This was our second time at Camping Italia. The campsite is close to the sea, it's a bit too far to walk, but the bus from the campsite runs every half hour free of charge. The pool is very nice, although you have to pay extra, but that means it's not so crowded. The sanitary facilities are fine, but... you have to be aware that everything is a bit simpler here. What you need to know, however, is that in August there is a party here every evening until around midnight, and sometimes longer at weekends. The volume of the music makes it almost impossible to sleep. When the Italian guests have left at the end of August, it becomes much quieter. So if you don't mind loud music, this is a very nice campsiteAutomatiskt översatt.
- Birgit Z.July 2013Positivanew now with pool area also for smallest children"We have been going to this campsite for two weeks with 3 - 4 people for 10 years and can't say anything bad about it. Spacious pitches (tent, caravan, car, camping table and camping chairs were easily accommodated). The campsite is separated from the beach by an approx. 1 km wide nature reserve, which... can be easily reached either on foot (approx. 15 -20 min.) or by the half-hourly commuter bus (approx. 5 min.). You can either soak up the sun on the public beach or take a seat on the private sun loungers. The sanitary facilities are kept clean around the clock, and cleaning staff were on site almost every time. The harbor town of Viareggio can be easily reached by car in about 5-10 minutes, where you can go out to eat or stroll through the streets, and the friendliness of the staff who helped us with a traffic accident is commendable. Food in the campsite supermarket is reasonably priced and not at all overpriced, just like in the general store. The only pity is that the pool area is not free for vacationers but has to be paid for but what the heck the sea is free.... It's also a pity that you can't make reservations for tents and caravans, especially for Germans ....for Dutch people this was probably already possible We will continue to spend our vacation there!!!!Automatiskt översatt.

- Hans R.August 2010Two of us stayed at the campsite for a week (19.08.-26.08.) and can't really say anything bad about it. Spacious pitches (tent, car, camping table and 2 camping chairs were easily accommodated). The campsite is separated from the beach by an approx. 1 km wide nature reserve, which can be easily reached... either on foot (approx. 15 -20 min.) or by the half-hourly campsite bus (approx. 5 min.). You can either soak up the sun on the public beach or take a seat on the private rows of sun loungers. In my opinion, the campsite itself is more recommended for younger people, as the somewhat louder entertainment program (also for children) can go on until midnight in the evening. (This didn't particularly bother us as younger people, but [German] senior citizens might be displeased) The sanitary facilities were actually kept clean around the clock, and cleaning staff could be found working on site almost every time. The harbor town of Viareggio can be easily reached by car in about 5-10 minutes and you can go out to eat there or stroll through the streets. Overall, we really liked it and would visit this campsite again.Automatiskt översatt.
