"Never again! - First, we were supposed to get two pitches next to each other, but the reception staff couldn't tell us for sure whether there was electricity available.... one of these pitches turned out to be occupied. But then we weren't even supposed to camp in the same corner for safety reasons, because of fire, etc. Shortly afterwards, however, other campers were given our actual pitch (?!?). Our invoice only shows the amount paid (incl. tax), no individual items. I would describe this as unusual and opaque. All the facilities (toilets, showers, washbasins, sinks) are old, run-down and really dirty! Cars drive across the square all day long, to or from the café at the end of the square. Pedestrians / walkers also pass through the square with the same destination. The café also has the only good view on the square. Clippings from hedges are carelessly left lying around. I think you benefit from the proximity of the ferry and from the income from/through the café. Campers are an accepted, money-draining inconvenience, at least that's how I felt. I won't be visiting this site a second time.

"Disgusting stench with a wonderful view - A place that is suitable for transit at the very best of times. We made the mistake of wanting to explore Kent from here - and regretted it bitterly. Never again! Disgustingly unhygienic sanitary facilities made a visit to the toilet a horror experience. While the campsites seemed to be quite attractive, we felt like we were on the highway with our caravan and were constantly afraid that our children would be run over. We will definitely not be staying in Folkestone again on our next visit to England!

"10 km before the Eurotunnel - Small site with an estimated dozen pitches for day guests and just as many mobile homes, located on the cliffs of Dover. The ground consists of firm grass. We received a friendly welcome and were allocated a pitch. From the pitch, which is about 80 meters above the sea, you have a side view of the cliffs and the sea (best from the cafe). There is a path to the shore, which unfortunately consists of concrete or coarse pebbles. In mid-June we paid 25.00 pounds for a mobile home with 2 people and electricity. Our dogs cost nothing extra and showers were also included. WLAN should be freely available at the cafe, we had no network reception. The sanitary facilities are dated but clean. We arrived here in the evening to drive through the tunnel the next morning. That's enough.

"Ideal before or after the ferry - great surroundings - The campsite is located directly by the sea and offers a great view of the cliffs. You can enjoy the surroundings from the pub, which also serves as the reception. The site is ideal for an overnight stay as it is only 15 km from the ferry port of Dover. It's worth taking a day to hike along the cliffs and/or explore Folkestone. The pitches are reasonable and have electric hook-ups. The sanitary facilities are not great and their cleanliness leaves something to be desired. We preferred the shower and toilet in our caravan. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pub offers small dishes and breakfast. There is no kiosk. Although the access road is a little narrow, larger vehicles can drive up there. Do not drive up to the reception - no turning possibility!

" - Stayed at Little Switzerland for the second time in August 2013 (2 people, car + tent). Unique location, nestled in the chalk cliffs between Folkestone and Dover, breathtaking views of the White Cliffs, the English Channel and the French coast. A delight for nature lovers! Most of the site is divided into secluded alcoves (2 to 6 pitches per alcove), which are separated from each other by bushes and trees as well as terrain formations, making them visible and reasonably soundproof. You should be a good walker, as the footpaths through the cliffs and along the coast are sometimes very steep and narrow, and the pubs and stores in Folkestone require a walk of at least 30 minutes. Last but not least, the men have to climb a steep staircase with 36 steps to reach their toilet. The sanitary facilities are in need of improvement, but there have already been some renovations since 2012. The staff are friendly and helpful.

" - We spent 5 days at "Little Switzerland" in August and another 3 days after our 2 1/2 week tour of England. The entrance to the site is only about 100m above the entrance to the "Camping & Caravanning Club Site Folkestone" campsite, so you have to be careful which site you go to. The site has a wonderful view of the sea and the chalk cliffs. It is relatively small and therefore quite quiet - only on a Bank Holiday weekend was it fully booked and correspondingly noisy. There are larger and smaller pitches, but we were always able to set up our rather large trailer tent (5 x 7m) and park the car next to it. There is 230V/10A electricity, but water is only available at a few taps. Most visitors are only on site for one night and want to get on the ferry (or have just come from there). Opinions differ on the sanitary facilities. I awarded 3 stars because the toilets were always clean (they are cleaned several times a day) and toilet paper and hand washing soap were always replenished. - However, the installations are still from the times of the 2nd World War (according to the operator) and accordingly "rustic". Some others might only have given it 1-2 stars. But we really liked the simple charm of the place and its facilities, plus the stunning scenery and tranquillity, just great :) We paid 25 pounds (2 adults, 2 children) and found it OK. The next time we visit England, we will definitely come back to Little Switzerland (hence my awarding of 4 stars, according to the features it might only have deserved 2 stars).
